Why does copyright have to be so strict? UA-cam is censoring scenes from nearly 95 year old movies, but movies from 10 to 50 years ago aren't as censored. It's like these videos are removed for hate speech, not copyright infringement. The musical scenes from these movies have giant jazz orchestras, which are much more powerful than the jazz orchestras on records from the 1920's and '30's. UA-cam wasn't as desperate two months ago. UA-cam recently deleted a channel that only posted scenes from movies made in the late '20's and early '30's. A year ago, UA-cam deleted a channel that colorized scenes from these movies.
The only thing I can say is that year after year, films are finally falling into the public domain. The studios don't care for most of their obscure films unless they can squeeze money out of them, and they don't want others to exploit them even for non-profit presentations. That's why the cable and streaming companies go through a path of mediocrity and repetition.
You and I are kindred spirits. As a 50+ year film historian and collector of 16mm film I thought I'd share the cache of Vitaphone shorts I have with like minded people such as yourself who are not at all interested in profiteering in any way from the uploads but only harbor a wish to share these wonderful old bits of ephemera with others who'd appreciate them. I likewise uploaded some other non Warner/Vitaphone obscurities in an effort to balance the overall objective yet, my channel "16mm Rick" was quickly and unceremoniously shut down for some alleged breach of copyright issue/s. (I also received several requests to be "UA-cam friends" not knowing then or now what the hell that means). I can well understand your frustration not only at no longer having the ability to share these wonderful gems with others but to have all of the work involved insofar as research, commentary and overall presentation be suddenly and abjectly eradicated. You have my total support insofar as subscribing to your other channel and a wish for continued success with your terriffic uploads. Somewhat parenthetically I replaced the Paramount logo on your upload of "Paramount On Parade" (for my copy only) with the original extant 1930 version though as I'm certain you've discovered the remainder of the original opening titles are lost and had been re-made likely by MCA. Continued luck and success from a like minded soul.
Same thing happened to another UA-cam video that showed the last 10 minutes of gold diggers of broadway, I sure hope your channel doesn't have another strike because these old films are historically significant, and just plain entertaining and fun. I think the work you do is fantastic!
When I checked my video, I immediately went to find that video but, yeah it was taken down, tho I luckily have it saved because I absolutely admired the work they put into it, how fortunate, though a real shame it even occurred... It's as if they don't want the public remembering or seeing gold diggers of broadway! For shame 💔
And thank you kindly for your words, exactly how I feel, It's going to be really hard for me due to the fact I just so happen to love the particular movies that warner bros seemingly is so protective of. 🙄🙄🙄
@@Galia_Lulu I mean if WB cares enough about there early sound films enough to copyright strike them, then they should at least like put them on Yt or a DVD ( if people still use those lol) or restore them.
I don't know why my comments are getting deleted. P-I'm E-presenting E-decentralized R-options T-for U-keeping B-the E-gems up. And it's true that automated takedowns happen to good content uploaders. I have not posted anything hostile or untrue or unhelpful.

@@Galia_Lulu yes, they even took down " tip toe trough the tulips" from gold diggers, it's a shame for sure.

nor have I posted anything commercial. This platform is not the only option for sharing historically signficant videos for free..
Have you thought of posting in other places? I can't mention the other places or my comment won't show up.
He died of cancer a few days ago, and I'm building his backup channel😢
