Thanks for the preservation . Now fully restored two-color technicolor classic films like Under a Texas Moon and Viennese Nights and Mysterious Island copyrights need to be worked on so they can be seen again for they fully exist.

All I can say is: what a weird movie.

Despite this being a famous story, I still lost the thread to the movie plot... but at least the convict ship taught me a thing: that it's "hell hold" and not "hell hole" ... although I feel they can be used interchangeably. So there's that, at least.

Isn't Blue Daughter Of Heaven & The Old Woman In The Shoe Salvaged musical numbers from the March Of Time that were used in the 1930 film Lord Byron Of Broadway.

An excellent example of early Technicolor. I'd like to see this inserted into the actual feature film. Supposedly the entire "dust" number exists in its original technicolor. My guess is it would cost too much money to restore this entire sequence in technicolor back into the "Children of Pleasure". It's probably also perceived that not enough interest exists to do this.

The song was a sign of the times. Irving Berlin's classic was written and performed during the Great Depression, a direct result of the 1929 stock market crash. Today, many people may be more familiar with th revised version. Taco Ockerse rerecorded Puttin' on the Ritz in 1981. But it would still take much more than "lots of dollars" to make the song into a movie again.

I thank you most sincerely for uploading this. That said though I'm sorry to see that Rohauer got his predatory hands on this as well as so much other early stuff. His penchant for adulterating original titles with his narcissistic "Raymond Rohauer Presents..." crap has always been an indication to me that despite his reputation as a film archivist/historian/"scholar" etc. his chief motivation was financial rather than any sort of nod to historical altruism or accuracy. If I knew of a way to somehow upload my personal 16mm print of this item with original titles I would. Nevertheless it's an intriguing historical curio which I imagine will appeal to anyone interested in this sort of film irrespective of which titles the print carries.

This was "Pre-Code" so you might see some T&A. Looks like a Busby Berkeley production. Nobody like him before or since.

for a 1927 film, there is one second of sound, when "Bob" is called out at (41:15). Charles Emmett Mack, who plays Bob, was to die during the shooting of this film from a horrible car accident at just 26 years old, Mack was killed when the car he was driving collided with another and overturned on his way to a racetrack in Riverside, CA to film an auto racing scene for this film
