Same way to detect a misfire, detect valve train problems. The only difference is where to get the sync signal from. You could use another piezo sensor clamped to injector #1 as a sync probe.
@@forkliftgeek10 Thank you so much! I've been forklift's mechanic since 1995 and nowadays, in order to improve my knowledge, I'm Interesting on oscilloscope troubleshooting. I have a Hantek 1008c. I am a self-study technician and I find very useful your videos. Overhere, there are not many oscilloscopes in the garages.
There's a free overlay app on the Microsoft Store which is very nice: www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9NGWMCX2RMTH I ordered some piezo discs on eBay and will build a similar pulse sensor. We're rebuilding 6 injectors for a 5.9 Cummins and want to check cylinder contribution when done to insure no laggards. Thanks for sharing your build🙂
Thanks for explaining how the sensor works too
Hi great video.looks to me that you have connected the polarity wrong.hope you have already spoted this brother !i have made one myself and using it
Great video !
How could it be used for diesel engines, like 2Z or 1DZ?
May be with the knock sensor you made it?
Thank you in advance.

@@forkliftgeek10 So you could get sinc from injector pipe without another piezo?
Did you do It before?
Thanks for answering!
I folow you from Spain.
You can make one of what I used in this video to clamp to the injector 1 pipe. ua-cam.com/video/lI3hx9d_nZo/v-deo.html and use it as a sync

Hi, good demonstration of misfire cylinder location technique. Do you have a video of the pressure sensor construction or a component list?
+Gary Smith not yet, but I'll make one soon.

Hello
How did you learn all this stuff
Self study
Nice tutorial. Do you have a link to where you got the overlay from? Thanks
+Kevin Pritchard here is their email scott@driveabilityguys.com
ForkliftGeek Damn shame for what happened to Scott.
Is that your personal Pico scope or does the company you work for supply it?
+Jeremy Clark its my personal scope
can you upload the tdc software? its not available anyone from the site
Nandor Onboardtech@yahoo.com, I'll see what I can do
Thanks!
how did you make the pressure sensor?,
+jess Bayardo I made a video on how to make one. Search it up on my channel thanks.
were did you get the event timing overlay program
+randy gould online with the" driveavility guys".
