Thank you for sharing! I’m fairly new to scoping. I’m currently using a 2 channel Modis. Looking to upgrade to a Pico in the future. I was under the impression that a floating ground just meant you had to ground every channel separately. By the way, Is this a known good vehicle or one with problems? Again thanks for sharing.
I got a little confused. Did you say the common ground was the one that uses only one channel or requires two? Is the newer pico’s use one ground for the entire scope like escope from ats? Thanks. I’m about ready to buy one and would like clarification. Great vid👍
The newest Pico has separate grounds. AES Wave now makes a test lead set that you can ground the 4 leads together at the scope. There are some advantages to having the grounds isolated from each other. Feel free to ask more if that didn't answer your question.
GREAT VIDEO MATHEW , COULD I ASK HOW IS THAT EIGHT CHANNEL PICO WORKING OF FOR YOU . I HAVE BEEN USING SCOPES WITH OUT PRESETS FROM I STARTED USING SCOPES SO I WONDER HOW'S THE CHANGE WITH EIGHT CHANNELS FOR YOU WHAT'S THE BIGGEST CHALLENGES THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND PLEASE KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK .
I never use presets either. The only issue with the 8 channel is you have to be careful. Automotive scopes have additional protections built in. The 8 channel could be damaged if not used correctly.
@@matthewshanahanautomotivet4284 THANKS FOR THE REPLY , WOULD IT BE BEST TO JUST USE AN ATTENUATOR WITH MOST CHANNELS AND WHERE WOULD THAT BE A BIG ISSUE . LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE OF YOUR INDEPTH VIDEOS .
@@8power0 You will also have to worry about the ground placement. The attenuation is not the only issue. The latest automotive Pico scope is fairly robust. If you were to scope across a throttle motor, for instance with the 8-channel you could damage it.
thats a good reminder about the lead hookup for scope users
Bro appreciate the knowledge. Really like the detail video
Sorry for any confusion, I just realized TP2 and Low Ref are switched in the diagram.

Ok i understand it now. Would be cool to see some examples of isolating the grounds. Love this stuff! Thank you

Fancy work with the pico. What do you think about purchasing pico from autonerdz. Or is there a cheaper alternative
