- Music written by Phil Demmel in Late 2016. Post-MH Dave McClain and Phil get together to record riffs Phil wrote for a medley to be used on an upcoming clinic tour. They also record the music for what will become "The Permanent Decay". Brandan Schieppati (Bleeding Through) is approached to write lyrics and sing over the tracks and later legendary Megadeth bassist David Ellefson adds his lines to complete this BANGER of a track.
This song will be the 1st released Digitally under Demmel's "Echoes of Reckoning" umberella of music, a collection of songs with various artists covering various genres.
Video Produced and edited by Scott Kirkeeng @scottyk1985
Now I want an entire album of this!
Love it! Can't wait until it's released digitally \m/
Amazing stuff! Can't wait to hear more.
Wow, i feel a lot of 90's melodic death metal vibes ... great song
I love this !
Phil and Dave are my favorite musicians ..I wish rob Flynn wasn’t becoming an ego maniac cuz the three of them can’t be stopped musically ..I hope one day they make amends
But then we wouldn't have Vio-lence back...
Lol! This sucks!..Robb Flynn got way better players!! Just saw "Machine head new line up"!! HOLY SHIT!! VOGG DESTROYS ON GUITAR AND MATT ON DRUMS TOO! no offense there way better players than Phil and Dave...nothing new Phil and Dave are doing..kinda weak.
Matt Alston beeing a better drummer than Dave McClain? Are you kidding me? You can't be serious ...
@@peliculiar Totally. Alston can't groove for shit. He's always rushing or dragging and he's got no feel to his playing. Terrible choice of drummer.
🤘Them riffs! Fukk yeah! 🤘
Cool song. Looking forward to hearing more tracks.
I like it, it’s fucking awesome to hear phil & dave again. Hope to hear some more.
An album would be pretty cool
Old killswitch meets something off that Roadrunner records compilation years back.
Roadrunner United was an amazing album into the fire with Trivium and king diamond was amazing that solo still gets me
I hope there's more of this coming!
it looks really great for the future !!! LOVE IT
Well Done Phil !! Keep it going buddy 🤘
WOW 🤯🖤
damn this is really cool!
Love McClain's drumming, I miss that in Machine Head. Great guitar and bass , opening riff reminded me of Avenged sevenfold or Killswitch and I've never heard Bleeding Through's vocalist on anything but their music sounds great!
it´s a rip off of killswitch engage, you are an idiot
@@nicolashunter4131 nice for you to reply to something from 10 months ago 😂
Perfect!!
Could be my headphones, but wish the guitars were more up front in the mix, or vocals less.
I'd be okay with the guitars +3db and vocals -2db.
No, I'm with you. Vocals are too loud.
I find this to be a problem playing music on UA-cam.
I agreee
Yep, vocals need to go behind the guitars. They don't need their St. Anger album right off the bat.
This song needs more exposure, this has great pace, the lyrics mesh well with the beat....needs more likes and views!
Killlllllllllled it dude, so good 🤘🤘🤘🤘
2020 starts heavy
January and February seem like a different lifetime lol
I dig it and I’d love to hear more. Brendan is killer on this track, his cleans are his best to date. Far better than Rob on any recent material. You guys should do a full album, it’d be interesting to see what could come form having all of them be a part of the creative process.
Dude I guess he is releasing an album digitally. It's called "echos of reckoning" it's a collection of songs that are a bit of everything and have various artists. Sounds dope
Amazing hope this turns into something more!
awesome!!!
need full album with brandan singing !!! FIRE
Idk, I got to listen to it a couple more times. I likey.
Damn!
Wow!!
Grande zio Phil!!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
🤘🤘🤘🤘Yes grandeeeeeee!!
I dig this for sure
This is dope
I need more
Thats what Im talkin about!!!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Man im glad i got to meet them back in 2011 at mayhem fest all memebers at the time back in 2011
Hell yeah
Phil rocks. Met him and Marta in 2012. Always love his guitar style (I’ve played since the 70s).
Mr. Demmel I dont know if you going to read this post, but excellent work you hit it out the park. I wanted to ask is there going to be a full album in the near future. MH lost a great musician but we gain as fans another promising band out of it.. Keep up the great work sir
Absolutely amazing. Love Phil and Dave so I'm glad they finally released this. 12/10.
This is very cool
Fuck yeah, phil rules! As soon as that riff started I got a lil' vio-lence vibe.Good song.
Awesome song!! I need more Phil and Dave, don't stop please :)
Damn I knew Phil was gonna kick fucking ass with anything he did next!!! This fucking rocks!!!!
how could this NOT have made the album!?!?!
This. Is. So. Good 🤩
Grandissimo phil... Spacca di brutto.. Grande dave
People complaining about the mix/production...as if these guys had a AAA budget to go into the studio. Love that Phil did what he did to get the song out there, I think it is pretty damn good. In context, written for a MH album it makes perfect sense. On its own it is pretty strong!
Shits awesome! Phil's a great guitar player. And super super nice guy very down to earth.
very cooll song !!
Now this is a FUCKING BANGER!!! HOLY SHIT DUDE!!!!
Absolutely killer track, Phil. I raged the whole way through.
Besides the vox/lyrics, the song is incredible!
🤘🏼🔥👊🏼🤘🏼😀🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼
This is fucking sick! Brandon smashed it!
Ах*енный трек! Я бы такой катарсис принял 🤘
I hope to fuck that this is released on vinyl
KILLER TEAM = KILLER TRACK
Fucking love it!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hell yeah this is raw as fuck. Fucken awesome best vocalist ever need a album right now 👍🤘
I mean....I'll say it. I can see why this wasn't on Catharsis. It's ok, but this is what I expect a high end garage band to sound like.
Pretty much my comment
Which means that it's still better than most of whats on Catharsis?
Love the music. He should've used someone else to write lyrics.
@@aafisher100 his wife was in bleeding through that's why .
@@drewcadaver yup!!!
Always a demmel fan on guitar regardless of the vocals
Reminds me of old Darkest Hour
Certainly better than anything on Catharsis. Phil is the fucking man. Sounds killer.
The fact that this could've been on Catharsis makes me even more pissed off at Robb
Bring back VIOLENCE... Phil is a beast...
Um...... They just did.
Give us more
Sounds great. Didn't know i needed the Machine Head, Megadeth, Bleeding Through mix so much.
I loved it couldnt really hear guitar at all for alot of the song tho
The song sounds really good. Not diggin' the production though. But this is very "low key" so i get it. Hoping for a full on album 🤘🏻
Somebody tweek the treble
Other than that its reminded me of "killer be killed" basic but catchy. Definitely keeping an eye on this.
Fucking killer dude! 🤘
Fucking love it!!!
Bleeding through is awesome and Phil is a guitar God!!!!.....fucking nothing left to say......Fuck.....there is!!!! Dave is THE BEST DRUMMER AROUND!!!@
its ok, not great. Lets put it this way , Machine Head could release the same exact song and everyone would say it sucks.
100000% true.
And even better... I think vocals are a bit 'overdone'
I do like but you’re 100% with that statement
Better than every song on catharsis
@Thomas Sneden but Slipknot or Avenged Sevenfold could release it & everyone would love it.
To bad they cant write a cool riff like that
@@peytonsaunders2294 Hahahaha whatever you say.
Not very found of the vocals but the music is kicking major a$$es ! These riffs and drums are sharp and powerful. Better than what I heard on Catharsis and far better than the "Do or Die" thing...
I believe that nowadays Robb still got taste as a listener, I'm not sure that this also exists when himself is the composer. Even so I don't feel surprised that this song was rejected from a M.H record. Many would say that there are already a bunch of M.H songs that don't sound consistent to their style and I agree, this however can't be the reason for another out of place a song to be added in the list.
Being a hardcore Vio-lence fan and an admirer of Phil's works with M.H. I respectfully believe that this is a mediocre song, both in terms of production and composition. Phil can give so much more.
\m/💀
Well, it is heavier and hardcorerer than Catharsis but it feels a bit uninspired... Not really a fan of vocals and the Killswitch engage like riff. But yep to the weird chords
If I’m correct, I remember Phil saying something about how this is basically just stuff recycled from Ashes of Empires. I can hear it, it’s straight drop B without the 40 cents sharp, the riff has that sound to it as well
Thank you for this. Some people don't respond to civility. Some people need hit in the mouth. There are a lot of us who are willing to throw those punches so others don't have to.
Bleed for purpose. Die for progress.
Hey... This is NOT new Vio-Lence.
The two dislikes must be current machine head members
It's vanilla man.
Good song, but the mix is weak.
Strong In flames vibe 😁🤘
The chorus yep
You can tell this was meant to be a Machine Head song. Though with Robb Flynn's current voice, it would have not fit. Brandon Schieppati really nailed it.
This is supposed to be machine head
I always want to like everything the original thrashers do and there's 3 masters here. I also know that this wasn't written for me and everyone has their own taste. But I couldn't get past the chorus. I can't stand that generic vocal style and then add in auto tune? No way. Nope. I did like the music though. Good job. With these three legends they should have used a fourth. They must know everybody. Chuck Billy, Erik AK, Mike Howe? Tom Araya is free now :)
I guess it's just not my jam. But all the luck in the world to them \m/
Bring on Vio-Lence!!
Autotune on chorus.....
Chorus in that new metal shit
Yea pretty terrible...
Still better than Rob's clean vocals on any Machine Head album.
@@literallyjesusbehindbars nah I dunno, the autotune was pretty bad on this song. Disagree
His clean vocals sound good enough not to need all that extra shit.
This doesn't sound anything like catharsis or rob at all. I understand why it didn't get the cut. But I'm still a fan of Phil & Dave for MFH.
This is bad ass it reminds me of early killswitch
Meh, this is like average 2006 metal compilation song at best. Seems that MH was one of those band that was bigger than the sum of its parts, at least on the blackening and locust. On their own they just arent nearly as good. Also the mix sucks, what the hell man.
@jeremy peterson your point?
Locust is trash compared to all the other machine head albums lol
Sounds like a song fit for a moto-x video game. I can see why Robb wasn’t interested to be honest.. I read somewhere Phil saying ‘we’ve got this amazing song out called permanent decay’ so thought I’d check it out. Cringe 😬
Looking forward to hearing more but this is just really bland.
Охуенно!😡🤟
This would have made the new MH cd better than it was.
The vocals are louder than the other instruments :s, I think Phil Demmel can make better of this...
I hate to say it, reminds me of old Atreyu....
so this is the genius song demmel wrote and robb flynn rejected? ok....if i want to listen to killswitch engage i prefer killswitch engage
Forget about the vocals and lyrics, they were just hashed together as an afterthought. The music is what Phil Demmel was banging on about and honestly it's nothing special at all, run of the mill metalcore. Catharsis was pretty much a miss but I can see why Robb rejected this to be honest. Musically a lot of Catharsis is better than this.
1000% true
Better than anything MH as released in a longtime.
I hear Phil Anselmo is looking to do a more straight forward metal record after En Minor.....
Phil Anselmo
Phil Demmel
Kerry King
Dave McClain
Pick your bass player.... Could be killer!!!!
