No good single men once she hits forty...? Wtf...?? I appreciated the rest of this discussion but geez...not the most empowering, elevating or even accurate (in my world at least...thank God) remark for a discussion about feminine Eros... This casual, unconscious ageism masquerading as a truth is absolutely everywhere when it comes to how women are perceived within western culture and it really is detrimental to all women. It made me sad to hear, as this is the kind of social creation that becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy through the telling and retelling. All I can say to those who resonate with my comment and who felt the schism when they heard hers is, as Terence McKenna always says, Culture is not your friend. It by definition seeks to limit human truth and experience to a narrow set of values. Do what you can to decontruct the unhealthy artificial paradigms that surround you at their very root, by the various means at your disposal (whether that be psychedelics, spirituality, meditation, or other transpersonal psychological/self-developemental processes), and watch yourself suddenly become aware of the falsity and move far beyond the dominant cultural models that are an insult your spirit. You will always have to reckon with prejudicial comments such as these by people who truly believe in them and give them them weight, and because your belief set will become increasingly divergent from social convention, there may be a certain period of alienation and readjustment...but I promise, as the old paradigm becomes replaced by something much more life-affirming, an entire interwoven matrix of false beliefs breaks down of itself, and the veracity of what you will be shown, what your soul will naturally recognise to be true, will give you the strength, wisdom, clarity, and calm rootedness in self to withstand, and eventually utterly disregard (and perhaps even re-write) the nonsense that passes as reality. Believe you me, like attracts like - as you own the kind of reality that actually lets your heart breathe, the kind of perception that makes this planet of abundance a paradise as opposed to an oppressive demi-hell, you won't have to worry about your Eros and attractiveness making like a pumpkin and suddenly being insufficient to land a decent (and emotionally, intellectually and spiritually compatible, resonant mate) as soon as the clock stikes midnight ;-)
