Guys i see everyone is complaining about not including the Tuono or the Triumph. The purpose of this shootout (if you actually read the article in the link provided above) is to chose the top two and compare them against the Tuono in a final shootout. The BMW and the KTM won the top two spots (read the article again). They will be compared with the Tuono. The triumph is not included because there are no significant changes from last year when the Tuono defeated it. +enric gandia In the end, if you have to drive it daily through traffic to work, I think the BMW S1000R is a more comfortable and all round better bike.

I am confused on why the focus is so much around the track... the Diavel and the Speed Triple and Z1000 are fun as heck on the street. I have a track bike (an r6) to hit the track and I have my every day z1000 for the road. To mee the most fun is the flat torque curve. PURE GRUNT urban assault machine. I wont be hitting any curves on the street like I do on the track, so why should I be worried about how far it can lean, it leans plenty to cover spirited rides with superbike buddies, but more comfortably.
Jonathan Tang Correct in that the Diavel is more of a power cruiser as it is usually compared against the VMax.Unfortunately the latest Monster because of it's ground clearance limitations and 1511mm wheelbase and conservative steering geometry is no Ducati Streetfighter in performance or handling. Ducati do now have to many model variants.If only they would produce a model in between the Multistada and the Streetfighter but a true naked designed not from a undressed superbike.Oh there is a bike like this that has 123NM @ 6500RPM and 103KW @8500RPM best road sports naked and best kept secret in motorcycling.Eats the Speed Triple looks similar but has a 1200cc VTwin.A bullet proof engine which is a little bit heavy by today's standards that is over engineered but will out last all the other Italian VTwins.Designed by a famous Ferrari engineer by the name of Franco Lambertini.

DieselQuads True. I had a T595 Daytona back in the day, and absolutely loved it, so a modern naked version should be fantastic. However, the design is so old and all the newer bikes, even the lowly Streetfighter 848 are better performing. In the end, it is whatever floats the buyer's boat.
The Monster is a Streetfighter? You are aware that Ducati produced a streetfighter. It was named the Streetfighter. The Monster line was created to compete with Harleys and Bonnevilles.
How big of a guy is Sean? I ask because I'm a pretty big guy coming from cruisers to sport bikes and he looks like he might have a similar build. If so, I'm curious to know what he finds comfortable in general.
Can somebody please help me out here? When they say the ktm 1190 is 150+ hp how does it hold up in a drag race against a 1000cc ninja or R1. As the ktm is lighter and has more hp. That doesn't make sense to me if it was actually faster. Can't picture it.
Great video guys! Can anyone give me his opinion about which motorbike to buy? I have in mind the MV Agusta Dragster 800 or the Kawasaki Z1000 ($13500 budget max). I am a tall guy and I feel that the seat position of the Dragster could be a bit uncomfortable to me. However, I saw that the seat height to the ground in both motorbikes are almost the same. gulshan devnani Thanks for your opinion! As far as I am concern, the Z1000 has no driving modes like the Dragster. In terms of technology I believe that the MV is quite better than the Z1000.
Already got dusted in 2012 by the Tuono, as far as an adrenaline streetfighter. Check out the MO website to read it and see the video that also includes MV Agusta's Brutale 1090R. The Triumph is still one of my fave rides, and it's more comfy than the Tuono, but it simply wasn't quite as thrilling.as its rivals. Four new bikes in this test, so we wanted to see how they compared. Street shootout will be posted next week.
saystart(Epicsoldier1000) is right. I have owned the cb1000r and sold it after 1000 miles. bike was nice, but to call the motor "neutered" is an understatement. I will never understand why Honda spent money to throw away hp. I don't mind them "retuning" for less top end and more down low(no wind protection for 135mph +) but they straight up DETUNED it. I work at a dealership and just rode the 1290 r super duke, and I about to buy it. Felt faster than my 09 r1!
MV Will be my bike of choice because is fantastic on the track, doing a great job on the street and they are tank... That bike can be beat by is owner and will always deliver without breaking..But would like to see the Aprillia too... Kim seem a awesome bike but there is something that I don't like on it... Always on the stand to fix something...talking by experience..
I think its not in there anymore because Ducati dropped the 1098 Street fighter and only make the 848? now and this test was for the liter bikes. I have owned the 1098SF for a year, but have gone to the KTM1290 now. I would of stayed with the SF but the servicing periods is 2 to 3times more often than the KTM. I am going to miss the Ducati but love the KTM.

So far I'm loving my 2014 Z1000, it's a fucking beauty of a bike and an extremely smooth ride. I have no complaints so far.
The KTM looks great, but the Kawa looks like it came straight out of a Anime show. Saw it in the flesh, in that colour combo, looks amazing!

It's not even in the same league as these bikes or the Tuono. The CB1000R is just a 919 with a face lift and a neutered litre bike motor.
