You can do this for basically any fruit flavored milk. If you want the fruit to really come through, my tip is to let the chopped fruit sit in a container with a good amount of sugar (should cover most of the fruit) at least over night. The sugar extracts the natural oils and juice, making the taste intense and sweet. Works also with citrus peel and is absolutely marvelous in cakes and pastries! Haven't tried that with bananas, though. In my experience, soft and juicy fruits like berries, peaches, etc work best. If you intend on keeping the syrup for a longer time, keep it in the fridge and everything covered generously in sugar to prevent oxidation and growing mold. If done right, it can last for months. Just make sure to top it off with more sugar if you take some.
@athenaNS It could, but more so with lemon juice, I think! There are ways to achieve citrus milk without curdling. Never got it right, though. I prefer it with yogurt, never had a problem with it. But finely chopped or grated citrus peel (without the white part) marinated in sugar really infuses lemon and orange cakes with bursting flavor. I always do this when making some
@user-tf9yy5uq9p where did I critique anything? News to me that sharing tips is considered criticizing. But then again, this is the internet, everyone finds reasons to feel offended or hurt if they want to. I hope you find something that's more worth your time and energy than making assumptions 🫶🏻
No need to take the extra step of using the cheese cloth. First blend is with small amount of milk so the banana is fully pureed. Then add the remaining milk and blend it again. No need for cheese cloth.
I have really enjoyed adding banana flavor almond milk to my coffee with sugar-free banana split syrup. Tried this during the winter It was very good...kept it going 😊
@@hannabanana592For me, I don’t filter at all. I love the chunky mushy bits in the drink. But some doesn’t like it, it makes the milk goes bad faster. Hence the filter (using cloth to squeeze n extract allll the juice).
@goldwaves 3-5 days, depending on the ripeness of the bananas and the temperature of your fridge. Wouldn't go over 4 days, though, personally. The released sugar starts to ferment rather quickly if you used really ripe bananas
@Kanrawastaken Thank you. I wondered how Ripe the banana should be etc. You just answered my next question too. I will make it but with Bananas that don't have any brown spots on them yet.
Several years ago, our company coffee vending machine had Banana flavored coffee. I loved it and was sad when the vending machine was replaced with a Keurig machine. I have never seen Banana coffee anywhere and miss it. I will definitey make this Banana milk and add it to my coffee. Thank you for the recipe!😋🤗🍶☕

I've never seen a recipe for banana milk before, I usually just buy the little cartons... this is another level 🎉 maybe the strained pulp will make a good banana bread 🤔
@afaafthakur4669 no, it sweetens over time before it eventually starts to ferment and become bubbly if you don't drink it within 3-5 days, depending how ripe the bananas were when making it. Never had bitter bananas or banana milk
It’s so funny that your video popped up, I just said yesterday/last night that I haven’t made banana milk in a good while! Like 2-3 months. Todah for this reminder!!
This may be a dumb question but as someone who’s never used a cheese cloth before, are they reusable? Can you wash the food off and throw it in the wash?

Basically banana milkshake
I was about to say the same 😂😂😂😂
Very much Strained milkshake😂
Yeah just strained

Wouldnt the banana go dark within the next day? Just asking
This is known by Caribbeans as banana punch. It is so good! 💖
Am I the only one who remembered jungkook
Nope,i also remember 💜😭
Quick question, how long does it last in the fridge?
Who adds sugar??? I always do this and the banana alone is definitely sweet enough.

How long will it stay in the fridge?
I had coffee glacé in Iran once with bananas so I defo get that that’s gonna taste good ❤

Is vanilla extract important or i dont need ?
It isn’t. Banana milk is a very common drink where I am and it’s basically just milk, bananas and sugar.

What do you do with the strained part?
Ne pas oublier d'ajouter quelques gouttes de citron pour que l lait reste blanc. La banane a tendance à noircire
Vaudrait mieux le consommer très rapidement sinon le mélange change de couleur à cause de l'oxydation des bananes 😊
