Holy cow. This video is so old. What you see here is the"old" GCLA terminal, so roughly 6-8 years ago. I loved the old "Canary style" terminal. Now it is completely replaced by a much bigger and modern-looking building. You can spot it just behind the tower
Very true. I flew in there last week in Xplane 11 and was chocked once I touched down at how much it looked like Madeira and I had never heard about that airport. I actually thought I had messed up my simulator and somehow mistakenly duplicated Madeira scenery. Many airports have the same configurations as far as runway layout and remove the distinct buildings from atop they look the same (i.e lots of two runway airports 07/25 or 09/27), but this airport literally looks like they moved the mountains, every rock, the buildings... from LPMA to there. Or could it be from there to LPMA.
Haha can't believe I missed that! So they definitely flew in CK. I guess they used other condor flights to get the taxiway movement, maybe they couldn't hire a Heli in time for takeoff
The reason is simple. It would be to expensive to be on different positions at the same time. You can see it also in the episode Miami A330 during landing in Zuerich. I asked them about the reason and PilotsEye explained it.
I´m not expert on aviation, but an enthusiast... What is this black and white disc at both sides of engines´ joysticks? What represents its´ movement during takeoff? Look at 4´31´´
Me on X Plane departing from a short runway: „I‘ll turn Packs off to get more power.“ At 5.000 the aircraft gives a war ing that the Packs are stilloff 😂😂
The audio of this does not match the video. The plane is still taxing toward the end of the runway but the audio already has the pilot setting the throttles and we can hear the engines spooling up to take off. There are several other mismatch from the audio to the video.
Yeah on the arrival video (first vid on my channel) a guy coincidentally about 10 minutes ago commented that the engine sounds don't match the engine type. I think this is because it's being filmed by a Heli (which would drown out the engine noise), and there's no audio input device for the spool up anyways, so it's just overdubbed with some archive audio.
Are you sure that is not FNC at Madeira? I am pretty sure though... Later edit: correction and sorry - the airports are similar!! Too similar, I think they are build by the same project and perhaps in the same time. Cool!!!!
No worries I get so many comments saying it looks like Madeira. I had never seen it at the time but they do! They even have similar instrument approaches
I hate documentaries. In the cab on the runway at the end, the pilot turns to the right, and from the outside, the plane turns to the left. You can see it when you align the plane, and everyone writes a great video and doesn't notice that you are actually being lied to.
Alex Dan almost certainly special clearance by GCLA and the zoom actually makes it look closer than it is! No way a Hele would just be able to turn up like that without permission. Which is why they overused the exterior shots.. they wanted their moneys worth! Also think about doing a difficult approach right the first time because there’s a rented heli waiting. Pressure!

@Fabian Neundorf : the heading for rwy 01 at la palma is 006°....everything above 5 you have to round up....for example: la palma is 006° so its rwy 01, not rwy 36..in stuttgart, germany (edds) they have rwy 07 and 25....the heading for 07 is 074°...its below 5 so its rwy 07 and not rwy 08....i hope that makes sense for you...
