Solving Pokemon Emerald's Greatest Puzzle

- Today's strange and unusual Pokemon deep dive will explore see us climbing the Battle Pyramid in the beautiful Pokemon Emerald Battle Frontier. It's an incredibly unique, perhaps the most unique, Pokemon puzzle / challenge in the mainline games! The climb will be rough, and the battle against Brandon at the top will be harrowing. Let's do this.
Joining us on our pyramid climb will be another legendary Pokemon puzzle, the Pokedoku. This video intersects TWO puzzles, rather than just focusing on one! The Pokedoku has recently become a favorite of mine because of the similarly unusual way it gets you to think about Pokemon and use them to solve problems- so I figured it would be perfect to pair with my favorite puzzle in the main games. Using 3 teams built from a pokedoku puzzle of my own creation, we will climb the Battle Pyramid three times for all of the puzzle glory. Can we triumph against this extra puzzling challenge? Only time will tell.

The Battle Pyramid was the only facility in the Battle Frontier that I ever got a symbol from (I also battled the Pike Queen, but never beat her).
those were the only two I could work on as a kid too! something about the more mystery dungeon like format just clicked easier, maybe its the lessened emphasis on spending hours doing nutso teambuilding 😅

The main reason I never tried the Battle Pyramid is because I've always been scared that I'll encounter a wild shiny Pokémon there
I think the battle pyramid is the best facility since it incorporates other key mechanics in pokémon besides battling.
The rogue-like dungeon crawling is a really unique experience and i wish this was brought back in gen 4.

Despite having played Emerald very many times over the past 20 years, I don't think I've ever once seen the top of the Pyramid until now. My mindset with most of the Frontier areas was "it's too hard/unfun" but now I'm thinking I should give them another try.
Just so you have an easier time, get Emerald Cross. It lets you toggle settings between the vanilla experience and one full of quality of life features.
Not exactly related but Emerald Rogue, Gaia, and Unbound are fascinating roms too. Do not miss out on them!

I really wanted to like Pokedoku, but I'm not very familiar at all with Pokémon past gen 7, so some puzzles like today that require knowledge of Galar and Paradox Pokémon make the puzzle impossible to finish fully for me. That just kinda defeats the point of it for me, unfortunately.

This was the first frontier i beat as a kid (followed by pike of course, the easiest), When i first got the top i was shocked seeing the Regi's but they wasn't as nasty, I'm sure (i could be wrong) one of them knew self destruct and killed his own final with mine (which counts as the player losing, BOOO!) but once i found a team which could win, i would grind this one for bp, pike was faster for bp grind due to it being pretty much back-to-back battles compared to pyramid where you had to find a warp panel but i enjoyed the dungeon that was pyramid.

When I saw the master puzzle was by Droomish my first thought was "oh of course Droomish is a Pokedoku player" followed by "is Droomish going to do a Pokedoku video" and I guess I'm kind of correct
and I had a mega brainfart and failed it by putting bellossom in the center... I have no idea why i thought it wasn't mono grass when being mono grass is like its whole thing but brains are weird.
it's funny because I also did hoenn only but just because a friend who's better at pokedoku was doing it. I know Bellossom isn't Hoenn either that pick just why did I do that
