- In this video I'm sharing a sewing machine tips my mum taught me when I was a little girl. In Poland when I grew up we didn't have much money so I'd buy cheap things in second hands or on sales (they were usually either too large or slightly mis-shaped) and I'd adjust them with my mums technique. This allowed me to still look reasonably stylish and fashionable without breaking the bank :)
Today I'm passing that tip to you. Enjoy :)

Exactly, that's exactly where this is all from - my mum taught me how to use the sewing machine, and her mum taught her ;) Like good old times when knowledge was passed from generation to generation :)

@@limbo576 Yuup do it do it :) Something I never regretted! And friends come over asking for tailor services too :) In tough times it could be an extra source of income. And these days sewing machine are so sophisticated and not expensive. Mine sews smooth like a butter ;) Nothing like the sturdy laud one my mum had ;)

Awesome! It's so useful to know how to do it and it saves lots of $$ :) And you don't have to throw or not buy some items that you really like just because it doesn't fit perfectly, it can be adjusted :)

When I was a young girl I would make my clothes and enjoyed sewing. My sewing machine is so old and still works. Yours is nicer and runs so smoothly. Mine is a portable one like yours and mine is a Singer brand. That used to be the brand almost everyone had back in the old days. It's a great machine as well.

Hi, I think I came across a video on this by Aly Art? I remember thinking that's a lot of body types to understand. To be honest I identified quite early my body type and was dressing accordingly and the recent image and colour analysis I had done has confirmed it. I never felt a need to dive into it further, including exploring 13 Kibbe Body Types. What do you think of it? Do you think it's worth reading more about it?
@@olgatojaI ask because I notice a lot of your style follows the romantic style of kibbe which you seem to be. I was wondering if it was intentional or if you just have a knack for picking styles that go well with your lines & coloring. I do think it can be useful, but at the end of the day, it’s most important to be comfortable and confident in whatever you choose to wear :). Something I am still working on now.

Why would there need to be a sewn straight line before zigzag? I'm getting a sewing machine too and just now learning. Thanks for this video!
I think the 1st straight line sewing is just to check whether the alteration is alright or not. And then after confirming that everything fits perfectly you sew again in straight line to secure the sewing.
And the straight line Sewing is much more secure than the zig zag one.

If i were you i would have taken in the jacket a bit in the back as well. Then you wouldn't have to take it in as much in the sides.
