It was nice to experience the walkthrough the forest. Scotland is beautiful ❤❤ Oh my gosh they have snakes in these forest I would never come then eekkkkks I don’t like snakes at all 🫡 Love from Manchester, UK
Another peaceful video. I was trying to imagine the bothy full of different groups of hikers, loud with laughter and joy. It seems almost out of place in that quiet setting lol. Maybe it was the rainy weather making me think that. Looked a nice walk though!
Was there in Aug 2007, on 2 week bikepacking tour and visiting 25 bothies. It's been done up quite a bit, which is nice to see. It used to have a ceiling shutter that opened into a "Musician's Gallery" and an old piano downstairs. Enjoyed the video, All best.
Thanks, in this short series, you're really becoming the Scottish Bothyteer! Thanks for the map and saying where this is at the beginning. This would be really scary at night, but so peaceful in daylight. Cuillin range in the future? So nice to experience the fresh air and the trees shown here; your videos deserve hundreds of more views.
Yeh I have been to a lot of bothies recently😂😂. It’s mainly down to the fact that I do all my munros with my mate, so if we’re not both available then I tend to do other things. Oh for sure I’ll be going to the cuillin, hopefully next summer which should be amazing
Certainly more spacious than the Kettleton Byre! I hadn't appreciated that there were several bothies in Southern Scotland. I must go exploring there next spring.
You bring us into a surround of soft, tree-lined peacefulness in this walk. With the craziness bombarding us on the Internet today, your eagerly awaited video brings a calm to my mind. This is truly a bothy tucked into the landscape, but is really in the A class category with a selection of rooms to occupy. Though I wouldn't fancy tackling the stairs to the loft after a few of those high strength beers discarded in the kitchen 😝. A first class video presentation I trust will get more viewers subscribing. P.S. please don't knock spiders, I've gritted my teeth and evicted some real whoppers🕸 from the bath over the years, but they do a great job of keeping all that insect life that infest and munch their way through your house. All creatures great and small have a place in the grand scheme of life on earth.
Heat rises so the upstairs would be warm as .... till the fire went out lol, then being closer to a cold roof probably turn into an igloo unless it was insulated
Funnily enough I am planning on visiting Moffat next week for the stargazing and camping out but sadly I'll be going the other way than from that bothy.I have done parts of the Annandale Way and the Southern Upland but the Romans will be a new one under the belt.
I parked at the car park for Earshaig Lochans Walk. You can put Earshaig Lochans into google maps and the car park is on Crooked Road just before you get to the Lochans
Oh no! Its the evil bogle of Brattleburn moor😱 waiting to set on an unsuspecting hiker and drag them down to eternal torment. 😫 Or it could just be a squirrel 😂😂

Yeh there seems to be loads down that area. Really nice area and most of the bothies are pretty well kept

Nice one mate, hope you enjoy the stargazing
Where did you start your walk from to the bothy. 🙂

What was in the branches of the tree behind you 4 minutes into the vlog?
I couldn’t see anything 😂😂. Was there something behind me?
Hej fra Danmark 😊 Vi sidder og gætter på hvor gammel du er 😊 Jeg siger 15 - 16 år og min ven siger du er 22 år... Hvor gammel er du egentlig??😊😊
Oh no! Its the evil bogle of Brattleburn moor😱 waiting to set on an unsuspecting hiker and drag them down to eternal torment. 😫
Or it could just be a squirrel 😂😂
😂😂 I prefer the first option
Seems dangerous. Either you may stumble on someone there already or that God-only-knows who might pop in once one is there. Be careful!
