You’re spot on Natalie, slow and steady seems the way to go. I pretty much decided to stay away from shorts for the same reasons, but had been tempted back to giving them another go. Pretty sure your reasoning is correct. There’s no point in building a subscriber base with people who only have a limited attention span if your channel content is mainly long form. Subbed, and I’ll check in here from time to time. Thank you.
Thanks so much for watching and subbing! Yes, the shorts game is rough. I'm ok with trying out this new approach and hopefully building a great community!
I agree totally, I’m an example of turtle paced growth and there are key people who converse with me on my uploads. I adore them, know who they are and respect their opinions. Every month or so I get to meet a few more people who comment and communicate with us as a group. It’s simple and kind, everything I love. 💜
Yes! I love that. I know slow growth doesn’t help you get monetized quickly but I’d rather have an engaged and positive community than a bunch of subscribers that don’t comment 🥰
I totally agree with slow growth. Thx you for being real and authentic in your videos. I’ve been going on my channel consistently for a few weeks now and planning to post long form videos 1-2 times per week. Thx you for your encouragement, inspiration, and tips from a very small content creator…I truly appreciate you!
Thanks so much for following along! Comments like yours are so very appreciated, gives me the motivation to keep going as well! Best of luck with your channel! ☺️
Yes, having a good community is the key. I started my channel in 2019 and it has taken me this long to get where I am now. Having a channel is a journey and being consistent is part of it. Keep on keeping on and folks will come. Thanks for sharing Natalie.
I started 2 weeks ago and decided to post 3 x per week. I have 6 subscribers so far and it feels really lovely. I've also had 2 comments. Not loads but I'm grateful. Good luck with your channel ❤
You have been a real encouragement, so let me share some good news. The algorithm seems to have woken up a bit and my latest video got 600 views in the last hour. That is twice as many as my previous most popular video. I’m so excited! Continuing to follow you.
I look forward to seeing your videos now - I have seen you in my feed over and over and I like feeling connected to other women who are creating on youtube. It's good to know that others are having a similar experience to me.
My slow grow strategy is simple: post twice a week and try to get one new subscriber each day. I’m still at the point where a single added subscriber feels like a major victory, so each subscriber matters!
haha. I thought about editing that out but then I thought, nah, that's what makes it real. I try to do my videos in one take as much as I can to keep it simple :)
I am officially no longer new hear 🫂 and always glad to keep coming back ✨️🫶✨️ You made the right choice with this channel 👏 and trust me you will grow and GLOW in the process ✨️ I was waiting to see if Oliver 🐈 felt like passing by in this one 😆 🤣 i guess he was like your on your own here Natalie 😹 My advice: Grow slow so you can learn more about yourself and enjoy the growth along the way and most of all attract Quality ✨️ people ❤
What is your opinion if all the growth is from long form videos only? I'm currently averaging 402 comments per video over the first 8 with honestly only 2 negative-ish ones. I also feel engagement is important. I try to take the time to reply to every single comment and email. I'm new like like you stated and honestly have found this new venture to be VERY time consuming but enjoyable at the same time. I'm creating videos about something that I'm passionate about which hopefully shows through. If you have a moment, I'd appreciate your feedback and perspective as I honestly don't know if you are into old cars, however if you aren't I think that's even better as your input would be more about the presentation and not the subject matter. If that makes sense. Thank you for sharing you thoughts in your video!
Hi Jim! This is just my opinion but I think growth from long form videos is best. I feel like shorts are kind of like a "handshake" and may expose people to your channel and they may subscribe but I don't think they are as engaged. I took a look at your channel - I think you are doing amazing! only 11 videos and you have over 7k subs?! Are you at 4k watch hours yet? I watched your review video of the bottle jack and I think you are super personable and your content seems super helpful for people who are into cars. I think the key may be to just keep posting videos. I agree that it gets time consuming so maybe just try for one video a week? The only other suggestion I would be to ask your viewers to comment about something near the beginning of the video to help with engagement. Thanks so much for commenting and being here! Best, Natalie
@@NatalieHamilton2024 Well, when you do come to visit the Scottish lands, I will bring my prized possession, an old computer game, which when I meet UA-cam friends, I get them to autograph it :) So we can add yours to it!!

I agree! Helps to feel less alone in the YouRube abyss. 😊

LOVE this. I agree, subscribers are people too. Each one matters. Imagine if we made one friend a week, that's a big deal!
I have been enjoying your videos while I work. Thank you for documenting your journey. Helps me to keep going.
I'm so glad! I appreciate you being along for the ride!
Loved the pauses.

🙌 100% - thanks for always coming back! Yes, Oliver was probably sleeping. I'll see if he'd grace us with his presence for the next video.
