Imagine the amount of engineering and manufacturing expertise... then also the mining, refining, transport, labor that went into making most everything we depend on today. It staggers the mind.
Hey Warren, great job rebuilding the pump. Got to keep the old service truck in tip top shape. It’s about the time I started watching you when you picked up that truck and drove it home. Thanks much for the video. Appreciate it!
Great job Friend Your hands cramping up can be very easily a simple as magnesium or as you said water. My hands have been cramping up more and more as I get older too that doesn't help it can only take so much after so many years!!! All the best from Surrey BC Canada
Thanks Warren, it’s a process, lots of pieces and things to remember, but you got a nice job on it, and yes sir I did learn from the video, I appreciate the tutorial on it. Your service truck is a nice one.
Warren,it was great for me, I do all my own standadynes for my Fords, I only paid once at a shop for my first diesel tractor,I vowed to never again pay that crazy price, after plenty of vids and manuals,I even have a spare set up and,I updated the ones I went thru with parts. See ya on the next!
I was going to ask why not install the springs first, I agree, that guy is trying to do it the hard way, glad you're teaching us the easier way. That's something my grand dad taught me when I was a kid, any adjustment screw/bolt, mark it, snug back to where it was. When I went to vo-tech, that wasn't taught at all, that was 30+ yrs ago too. Warren, appreciate the lesson, definitely learned a thing or two. Great video as always, cheers :)
Warren, i had the same crap going on with my fingers cramping up before i retired. It always seemed to strike when dealing with small screws etc. Changed my daughters' cars over to their summer tires recently and it showed up again where my fingers become rigid and no control over them. I think it's just years of abuse doing mechanical work BUT i had/have the same problem of not drinking enough water. I don't miss the cut-up hands, since i was never one for wearing mechanics gloves either. Saw your blood making the video.
Great video! Love watching all of em! Love watching to see how many different flashlights you use to! Makes me sick to think of my service truck breaking down! Glad you got her going!
Thank you for the educational video Warren 👍, your not the only one who suffer's bad luck, it happens to me a lot too, Great to see the service truck running again and Miss Josey and Harper too. 👍
It good to see Your work truck running again. Thank You for the fuel pump tutorial. Best Wishes to You and Your Family. Yes Warren, even the damn chickens.
I have been taking "Cramp Defense" (available from Amazon), which is just some kind of magnesium supplement. It really does work for leg and hand cramps, which have bothered me for years, especially during the heat. You might want to give it a try...it's not very expensive. You are right about water, too. Thanks for the video. Diesel injection is so fascinating. What amazing mechanisms!
I still have nightmares of rotary injection pumps on 6bt cummins engines. I have a 38' walk around pilot house that was built in 1989 and it is powered by a pair of 6bt engines and it had Lucas cav rotary injection pumps. I purchased the boat in 2006 and the engines had 900hrs on them at that time. I had so many problems with the lucas cav pumps and I was concerned with the killer dowel pins striking and I needed more horsepower and I ended up converting the engines over to p7100 pumps.
Hey buddy hope you’re doing great. I just watched your video and it is very interesting, I have one question I’m working on my son’s 92 Cummins pump and I wonder if you can give me the info on the steps that you were showing from your phone…. Have a great day and thanks
Professor Warren in action. If you ever hang up your tools you can always find a job as a Heavy Duty Mechanic teacher in one of those colleges. Or take over that guy's job at the Cat dealership as a parts dealer. In terms of reliability which pump is better the P pump or this VE pump?
Got an off topic question for anyone. Having low oil pressure on a 12 valve. Anyone have luck by replacing spring and plunger in filter head for pressure relief valve? I'd figure one of you guys might have done it. Glad to see your service truck is back to making money
Thanks again for sharing. The reason I don't make videos is because of all the cussing and dropping things on the floor that goes on and I'm far too lazy to edit it all out like the 'perfect' UA-cam content creators do (yeah, we see those jump cuts, no one can hide it). I would have to throw away more video than I could use. I have made a few small videos to share certain projects with family and others who need to see it, so I have a certain appreciation of how much work goes into making them.. My hats off to you for that.
Sometimes having a wife is no help either. There are some great lines in an episode of The Bing Bang Theory. Wolowitz says to his wife Bernadette "if i could do that, i wouldn't need you". Bernadette says, "if you could do that, you'd be doing both of us a favor". LOL
hi warren but did/do you not have a dle engine then a v12 or something I mean you talked about it after you bought this service car of yours which you talked about putting in instead of the one sitting there now. but you talked about wanting to go from 9-10 speed to 13 speed.
