I enjoy the regular entry level bottle and been wanting to buy this one. Like you I like hunting for deals. Haven’t seen it for under $50 yet. I’ll buy it when I see it for a good price. Cheers great tasting notes as always 🥃
This one actually sounds good. I still haven't found an irish whisky that I like other then redbreast. In fairness...I haven't tried a lot:) Awesome review as usual Jon. Praying you and your family are safe!
I haven't had the opportunity to try this one yet Jon, but I'm looking forward to when I do. I've tried an older 'dusty' version. Great review. Cheers.
Dear Neighbour, I am in accordance with you! Recently I bought this bottle, thinking "Powers John's Lane (BEST), Redbreast - there must be a cheaper alternative...". And voilà: This Tullamore is very very very good! Over here in Germany we have to pay only 28 € (32 $), which is a bargain. I love this whiskey, too.
Great comparison. It is much less than Redbreast here, and yet I enjoy it almost as much. Just a great dram. Glad you can get it in Germany for a good price, too. Cheers!
@@WhiskyNeighbour These whiskeys are completely different, indeed. I can tell exactely why I love John's lane and Redbreast, which I can't in case of the Tullamore. But who cares. Cheers!
Thanks for the review, Neighbor Jon! Will be keeping watch for this one, especially as maybe a post St. Paddy's sale... Hope you have a fantastic holiday and week. All is well down here. The okra seedlings are pretty much ready to plant. Spring has sprung in the desert. Cheers!
@@WhiskyNeighbour Neighbor Jon - I can only imagine what you're looking at. I'm staying positive, and prioritizing whiskey reviews over the "news"....😅. Hang in there. The heat is coming, and this will be old news soon!
I enjoyed the lighter sweet/vanilla/peachy notes and even got some banana in there, very interesting on those 'white/yellow flavours', Didn't get lots of sherry/dark fruits, so probably bourbon-cask-dominant I would say. I did find it a little too bitter, maybe from the bit of grain whiskey in there? and also it was a touch too oaky and woody for me, but maybe without the bitterness the woodiness would have been more acceptable.
You sold this bottle for me, sounds like some fine Irish whiskey, too bad I haven’t seen it yet at my local Ontario liquor store but hopefully one day. I’ve had the regular Tullamore which is relatively simple but nice. (I get a great white chocolate note in that, so creamy even for an Irish whiskey). I had a nice dram if bushmills 10 single malt today, It’s really been opening up and changing in the bottle since I opened it in late December.
It's very enjoyable. I had a bottle of the 15yo, I didn't like it as much as the 12yo. I'm working on a bottle of the cask strength version, call Phoenix. 🍀🍀🍀
I’ve stayed away from Irish Whisky since getting burned on a couple of rotten releases. I do like Redbreast and Yellow Spot but now I’m tempted to try this one. Thanks for the review. Have you tried Proper Twelve? Don’t bother...Too low ABV to be used as hand sanitizer. Stay well!
I have not tried pepper twelve. Too many sad reviews. This is good, but I do enjoy Yellow spot and Redbreast more. This needs more abv to really shine. I was in a good mood here!!
Howdy Jon! Always watch your channel with great interest) The question is: what would recommend though- Sexton Single Malt Irish Whiskey in hexagonal bottle or this one? (Best regards from Moscow , Russia, Slainte!)
I prefer the balance on this. However, the Sexton is more floral. Almost potpourri levels. If you want better aromatics, the Sexton. If you enjoy good fruit, but more balance across the experience, I would choose this!
Lol! With that recommendation, I'm sure I'll love it. Need to track it down. I've looked quite a bit and it does not seem to be available in my market. I'll keep digging.
@@WhiskyNeighbour (-: It has got more difficult in Germany, too. The "old design" I've been able to get for 38€ ($32 at the time), but the new bottle, I had to pay 50€ ($50), and it has been hard to find a seller. But, hey, neighbour: It's on behalf of science! ((-:

Wery accurate description of this whiskey. Well done sir.
Glad you agree. I enjoyed this bottle and will likely replace it soon!
Just picked up a bottle for $45. It is fantastic.
Glad you enjoy it too. I found it a delightful, light, rich dram.

This is a little lighter than Redbreast, but still offers a few layers to consider. Thank you, and I will pray for your safety and health too.
great job Jon!!

Hope you enjoy it if you get the chance. Not as expressive as the Sexton, but I like the balance and layers here.
Looking forward to trying this one!
Just keep in mind it's not a monster. Rather subtle IMO
@@WhiskyNeighbour There are times for non-monsters too... It all depends on the mood.

That is a great list of tasting notes. Glad you found so many, even if the final result was not great.
I love apricot notes in whiskey, adding this bottle to my lookout list!
It's not strong in that direction, but I certainly picked that up. Hope you enjoy if you find it .
I realize it's pretty off topic but do anyone know a good website to stream new series online?
@Jefferson James Try FlixZone. Just search on google for it =)
