Picked up a bottle from the airport sometime back and I tried this today after a few years of drinking it at a friend's place. I somehow enjoyed it right out of the bottle. Lots of fruitiness with a slight hint of vanilla. Friendly in the mouth but slightly tough on the palate. For 25$ here in India at the airport, this isn't a bad bargain.
Just bought a bottle and it's amazing how much better it becomes with some ice in it. Normally I don't use ice but it takes away the sharpness immediately. Makes it an easy sipping nice Whiskey!
I often watch your reviews but i really enjoyed this one.after years of my Irish american friends telling me that tullamore DEW is the only true Irish whiskey.I will inform them it is owned by a Scot
the first time i tried it had a nice soft bread or buiscuity fatty creamyness softness to it and flavors of green apple and pears and went down nicely,i was very surprised at the first mouth feel nice thick stuff but i gave a bottle to my cousin and after a long while i was at his place and found the bottle sitting outside on his balcony and gave it a quick taste and it was dry and harsh.,idk what went wrong?
Tasting it now for the first time, funny I don't mind the bitter after taste... Or better yet don't find it bitter at all. It's a smooth one and its one ill keep refilling in my bar 👌
This has been my nightly quaff of late.. For me it’s smooth initially with not unpleasant bitterness that lingers in to a peppery restitution. l let it rest for 15min or cut it with a drop of water. I pick up banana, caramel in the smell mixed with apple and clove in the taste, again, with the after taste of some spicy heat. As a pleb it’s great.
I would generally say that irish whiskies are smoother and milder than scottish ones. in my opinion. when i'd want something edgeless and not obtrusive, then i'd take an irish whisky.
Leaving some to linger on the tongue and gums definately gives off a spicy feel. Very fruity with toffee undertones. Couldn't pick up any vanilla myself. Slight bitterness. 8/10
Interesting. The last time I had Tullamore DEW there was no bitterness at all. Just smooth and delicious. It's been a few years, but I can't imagine it's that different. Of course I didn't spend any time at all sniffing it prior to sipping it. 😎
What hit me first with this drink is the initial malty/honey sweetness, quite distinct from a dry scotch. I didn't taste any bitterness whatsoever. Very satisfying on a cold day.
Lol, love this presenter. The guy is hilarious and has a crazy palette, I'm surprised it's so refined after all those years of swishing whiskey around his mouth
Well done, I expected this of you...even though I love drinking this stuff on it's own, but the way to drink this is to not let it touch the back of your palate until you swallow, not to taste those tannins too ...early as they do cover the tropical fruit. But the finish is totally unripe mango. BTW their representative says the age is 4-7 years
Love the honesty in the reviews. Fed up of seeing every whisk(e)y being "wow so amazing" This popped up as a review for being sweet and clean and I trust Horst's reviews for this very reason. Not a fan of bitter re used cask tastes. So I won't waste money. Much lov
I think it's amazing every time I buy a bottle of whiskey I look up the reviews and I make sure it's you you do the best reviews I drink it with you and it seems like you're right on the money it's okay whiskey but the spice turns bitter I'm more for Glenfiddich and Glenn Levitt I also like McAllen all twelve-year-old Scotch whiskeys
I love Irish whisky just as much as Scotch if not more so, this is a really good value whisky and has plenty of aroma and is very hey yes a little bitter. I never see many reviews for Roe and Coe which is incredible and the best Irish Whisky in my opinion and perhaps the best whisky period.
Frankly, I thought that Tullamore D.E.W. was probably the smoothest and sweetest whiskey I have ever tasted. I would have bought some tonight, but Bushmills was a little cheaper.
Just tried it, for a whiskey it's not as strong as Jack or Jim so it's differently going in the liquor cabinet, but I'm a scotch MAN and the guy at the liquor store told me it was scotch..........well yes I can read and by no means am I an authority on alcohol but it tastes better than Jack,Jim,or Wild Turkey but can't beat my Churchill favorite JW Red ♥️
It is velvety smooth but its little lacking in my opinion. But that doesnt make it bad automatically. I just say this: From decent priced whiskies the black bush makes best irish coffees.
@@iby914 It's actually three years and one day, the bare minimum, and it's aged in barrels that have seen better days. Who told you 15? Even at the distillery they'll tell you that much. You'd know to taste it that it's nowhere near even five. They pump this out as quick as they can.
I need a whiskey/y that has SPICES taste... not so much burnt taste , but im looking for spices pepper taste kinda , or liqurish kinda taste .... i was not so impressed with makers mark , i need someone with alot more taste and bang on the spices , anyone have a suggestion what to buy ?
Tried to get it , but its been sold out here in norway for like the last year and it dont seem like they are taking the product in again : ( i would have to order a bottle on amazon or ebay , and thats not always safe when it comes to consumable items , u never know what u get...
Btw just to add , i used to drink jack daniels , but after tasting the fireball whiskey cinnamon , i never went back to jack daniels or ever will lol :) the taste is just to superior and good in the fireball.
but I don´t get any bitterness in this whiskey at all. I´m more of a bourbon guy so I don´t have that much of a comparison with other Irish whiskeys. But to me it´s one of the nicest, smoothest, sweetest and most friendly whiskeys I´ve ever tasted.
Thanks for the warning. I might otherwise have purchased an unknown bottle such as this just to try it (especially if it is inexpensive) but now I know that I would not enjoy this. Therefore well worth watching your video. Thank you.
in early 2000 twas my favorite whiskey, twas fruity smooth, straight whiskey, now is too vanilla, too coffe, too carmel, too common. so I abandoned her for another
Do you really have to make such loud sound while gargling the whiskey in your mouth? I have seen many experts tasting whisky and they don't sound like that. Shame, because you have useful insight and knowledge but I cannot stand your gargling sound.
I had a bottle of this gifted to me a couple of years ago and found it quite unpleasant. Ended up offering up the bottle to the uniformed at a house party to pour coke over. Good riddance.
This is the greatest character Johnny Depp has ever played. Oscar worthy
Hillarious
lo what movie?
😂😂😂😂😂. I knew Horst reminded me of someone famous 😂😂😂😂😂
We were right in the middle of a fuckin reptile zoo 💥💥💥💥💥💥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@baz007 😂😂😂😂,
You should record epic audio books, like the Witcher or something. Could listen to you all day.
My preferred whisky for over 25yrs! We call it "Liquid Velvet", its so smooth!

For its price, my favourite by far. I like the bitter aftertaste. Much more than the overwhelming sweetness of Jameson
Yeah i tried jameson today after liking DEW for a while, its really underwhelming, i guess im just a sucker for hard spicy stuff

Jameson is also scottish aha.
I switched from Jameson's to Tullamore 3 years ago. I like it very much and drink plenty.
I have both and many other whiskis 🥃
I just tried Tullamore Dew for the first time the other day and I must agree that it's way nicer than Jameson's.
@@leenguy Agreed. I find the TD to be a bit more "caramely" and smooth.

I always tough that Irish whiskey is sharper than Scotch but this one is quite mellow with honey and vanilla sweetness. Nice blend!

I drank it with you and was surprised how smooth it was. I’m a whiskey peasant though..
this guys taste buds are way too sensitive ,,he needs to stick to wine

Works deadly straight on the rocks or using Dr. Pepper as mix (optional)

Where have you heard it's aged 4-7 years? I can't find anything anywhere on the internet about Tully's age.
You sir are awesome. If i close my eyes you sound like Christopher Walken drinking whiskey. Maybe its just the whiskey talking.
+isapiens So I am no the only one, I was going to say the same. And he really looks like Christopher Walken.
I think he'd break out into 'Weapon of Choice' after a few glasses :)
I thought of Irish Werner Herzog
@@VloggingBastendo
he's a german fella though. :D
your comparison of voices is as bad as horst over sensitive taste buds
I like the story behind it, I bought a bottle and didnt notice the DEW is actually D.E.W. Enjoying it right now as I watch.
Lots of different types of Tullamore Dew made now. Love the stuff- especially the limited "Black 43" edition.
Love the honesty in the reviews. Fed up of seeing every whisk(e)y being "wow so amazing"

Maybe they've changed barrels - I did not pick up on a lot of bitterness. Not a bad budget pour

My home town whiskey!
I do a shot of Tullamore Dew and PBR... I call that a whiskey desert. Yum!
I had this at a bar and became a huge fan. That’s some good whiskey .
SeeTheKarma same here it's my favorite whiskey
Anytime I try. New whiskey I come to this channel to see what you guys think and say ..

My bartender recommended the new rum cask version, and I think its a fantastic bottom shelf whiskey
This whiskey is fantastic in a whiskey glass with two cubes of ice
Was planning to purchase a bottle this week to blindly try. So glad I saw this review first before I spent the money. I’ll try it at a bar first now.
I also read the labels on the cereal box in the morning while eating breakfast
It is velvety smooth but its little lacking in my opinion. But that doesnt make it bad automatically. I just say this: From decent priced whiskies the black bush makes best irish coffees.
Interesting review, but in my opinion it is the smoothest Irish Whiskey I have drunk. But I am not an expert!
I agree!
Would this whiskey fair well in a decanter?
7:07 the look of pure disappointment
Just bout a five dollar whiskey decanter with 2 glasses included. So I grabbed this for 15.00 a 20 dollar deal u can't beat
And yes I kno i spelled bought wroung
Also wrong wrong lmao
Held off drinking until you did and I felt myself making the exact same face!
Cheap and hits hard, i think its my favorite regular
I find this whiskey very very smooth, almost like lemonade or juice. It is very dry and hardly no after taste!
how long is this whiskey aged for?
15 years from what I've gathered.

Οι Ιρλανδοί ξέρουν!
It’s not mouth wash mate.
Great voice.
i enjoy it personal taste
Tullamore DEW for me is the epitome of “it exists.” Like, it’s clearly whiskey, but has nothing at all remarkable going on for me.
Ok good. bitterness.? Nice review

exactly,, bitter
13€ im Aldi gar nicht schlecht
Better with ice
