This applies to me so well. Except instead of becoming a pro athlete or business man like most others, I want to become a full time UA-camr and Livestreamer. There is nothing I want more in life then to do this full time. I have been actively at it for the past 5 months or so and I am having a blast. I see the growth, I see the potential, and yes I have failed, I just have to keep at it. Even if im not a millionaire IDC, just personally to ME, doing something that I love for a living, is not something you can pass up on. To be able to wake up everyday and know that I am doing something that I would do for free as a full time job is just mind blowing. If you do what you love then you will never work a day in your life. Thats what I live by. Thank you for the motivation Drift0r . I will now never quit and stop at my dreams because of this video. You guys can laugh at me all you want, but Id like to say that this video honestly changed my life forever. Thank you.

This is incredibly good advice. I remember someone telling me the main thing that makes a successful person successful is that they know to keep moving forward. Don't dwell on the failures except to find out what actually worked. Take what you learned and never stop moving forward. Just don't give up. That really is the main thing.

  • @AlexPaincakes

Brad you are an amazing commentator and an even better person. You have a very clear, level headed way of seeing the world and I can see you have learned a lot of very important lessons in your life. I know I have given up on my fair share of dreams and aspirations but there are a few that still hold true in my heart and this video just struck a chord through me. Thank you for being the man that you are today and sharing your thoughts and cares to us all. We appreciate you as much as you appreciate us.

The honesty works man . . society needs more of this. Was really upset before I watched this video, but I'm feeling better now . . and I have a mind more like yours. Takes a lot to get me down and a lot to get me back up, but the right logical perspective has a way of working. Too many people are an absolute dumpster fire, and I'm surrounded by them. Just gotta keep going. Great video

Thank you driftor, your previous videos have been influential, I have been in a rut for many years. I am currently in an "uprooting" to say, your words would change little to the outcome. It helps me push further faster, this is how I normally am, I am not afraid of failing in any way. I will push to achieve what I want no matter the chances may be, I am a die hard in that sense. Hearing some one who logically looks at the world in a similar way I do influences me to see that I can find people who will stimulate me socially the way I want mentally, that is how you personally helped me.

Love it. This video came at a pretty good time, as I've been struggling to get Twitch viewers and I keep struggling to find time to work on my UA-cam projects. However, I have to keep my unbreakable tether in my mind that screams to me that I will not give up this goal. Sure, the fantasy I have is distracting, but it's also what drives and motivates me to do it.
Thanks for getting me pumped up, Drift!

  • @RAPTURE
    @RAPTURE 9 років тому

Drift, thanks for the motivation and inspiration! I feel like if you can get something to become a habit (doing it for 30 days or so) it just becomes something you do. That was the case for me when I started making UA-cam videos, after about a month it wasn't really a choice of whether or not I did it, I just did it. Also, having a general plan is good (ex. for UA-cam try to think of a video topic before you sit down to record something). I hope this will encourage other people to continue whatever it is they are doing because you can apply it to almost anything you want to accomplish.

Couple of things I might add:
    1) Don't be afraid of changing your goals.
I started doing CoD videos in the back end of BO2 and my stuff was not particularly good. I ended up giving up when I got bored of playing CoD.
I took a 1.5 year break from making videos, and after a change in the content I watched, I am now a relatively successful channel in a completely different genre.
    2) Learn what your strengths are and play to them.
I've made my name by being able to tear apart arguments very well. Learn what you are good at, and it will be recognised by people eventually.
    3) Don't beg for help, but take it if offered.
Don't suck up to bigger channels for promotion, but if there is a competition for a promotion, it can't hurt.

I've been doing this for over a year and I've put off learning about SEO because I didn't think my content was good enough. I already had this dedicated mindset before watching the video but this was very motivational. I'm a tiny gaming/comedy channel and I know for a fact that my friends don't believe I can be successful. They didn't discourage me. I'm not going to give up now (4 months in), it's too early! My goal is to prove them wrong, put smiles on people's faces, and have UA-cam as a possible job!

Actually if your struggling your probably doing things right in the beginning. Also, understand that some people should give up if they don't have the necessary passion. One more thing, your friend in college isn't less intelligent in you because you finish your academic homework faster. He could actually be much smarter, but obviously don't know that because not much was said. Besides that, great vid Driftor!

Then there is Ahoy, who has pretty much made all of the right decisions since bo2, noticed ghosts wasn't too successful so he made it a smaller series, made titanfall videos to prepare for its eventual sequel, made multiplatform game weapon overviews, and came up with multiple series that not only were well recieved but also had yet to be capitalized on.

Finally, a "How to success" video where the person doesn't just say, "TO BE SUCCESSFULL YOU NEED TO SUCCEED".

Hey drift can you do more vids like this? The more philosophy based/advice videos are fantastic. I love hearing your opinion on topics like this. How about like a scheduled upload of these type of videos once to twice a week?

Not gona lie here first I was going to ramble abaut this dude but he does have some solid points for his viewers (which are mostly 9-16 year olds to be honest) which maybe helps some people out and for that I thank him.

who the f*** dislikes this video?! I'm utterly baffled by the fact that there are some people out there who think that what Drift0r say in this video is either incorrect, flat out lies or whatever logic defying reasoning they will present on the table should they're asked about why they disliked this video.
I'd love to see at least one of them comment here and explain to all of us his/her reasons for disliking this video. Their replys should be extensively studied and analyzed by psychologists, neuroscientists and even particle physicists if needed for the sole purpose of determining what constitutes success in their heads and subsequently turn them into human genie pigs because I'm confident that this is only role/function in life they will ever be useful in as well as being remembered for, which is not too shabby considering that their entire existence was such a waste of bio-natural resources.
Drif0r, you inspire me. These videos has become my drug of choice.

Sounds similar to the stonecutters creek story...man was told to crack a boulder and hit it 100 times and didn't break. Came back and hit it one more time and it cracked in half, he knew it wasn't that 101st crack that broke it but the 100 before that.

Because of things like patreon, its possible that if you work hard, dont give up, and do the right things necessary that you can make a living doing what you love. Knowing demographics and planning out stuff in advance could do alot of good towards preventing mistakes instead of learning them all the hard way.

Yes. You are very much correct. I, as i'm sure many others do, agree with you. But, and this is all me, if you're not having fun in any way, shape or form then you do not do it. I am only working at the moment to build myself up to go to college because if I go to college and work I will have almost no time to myself. I would be miserable all the time. Maybe in the long run I would be happier but that's for future me. In short, if you don't enjoy anything that's going on. Stop something and be happy.

You know when Driftor starts making these random commentaries instead of in depths and other videos we actually subscribe to him for, that is time for a new call of duty.
