meaning of Olga is "blessed, holy, successful" But the common meaning for Olga is HOLY. I am not interesting in the names only also the meaning is very important for me 😁
Me and my sisters and cousins are adopted from Ukraine. My aunt created her own adoption agency here in the us because her adopted wasn’t a good experience with an American agency and was horrible experience so she started her own.
I've fallen in love with Olga since learning about the 900s no-nonsense Princess Olga. What is the Ukrainian preferred spelling of her name? Olga of Kiev? Olga of Kyiv? Olha of Kyiv?
Hello Olga, I have question off differences of the name of Kate, Katy, or I believe the spelling to be Ceti are those the same variations of Katerina perhaps? Thank You again. Will:)
billy king We have full name Kateryna and short variant is only Katya. Sometimes in West Ukraine you can hear Katrusya also. No other variant we don't use)
is the name Nastasiya common in Ukraine? and is it pronounced like Anastasiya, but without the A at the start? and... would Nastya still be the short version? many thanks! Enjoy your videos.
The possibility of naming a baby in official documents by their pet name is rare. So it would almost always be Anastasiya (Анастасія). Nastya/Nata would be odd. Any other - even odder.
@AndyMcFarland-lu9ft I'm pretty sure he was ethnically Ukrainian but born in Poland. In English he changed his sir name to Saj, in Cyrillic I think it was Саї.
@AndyMcFarland-lu9ft yes thank you for replying it's been very interesting. He was Greek orthodox Catholic, his family name was his last name and always written as Cau but in Cyrillic it was Сай. Does this help, and make more sense? Many thanks
Adrijan Talić Мали не лупај глупости. Милица је само српско име какви Хрвати са име Милица си луд! Словенска име јесу наведена од стране тебе као и нека Хрватска колико видим. Џаба све кад ми знамо ко смо и шта смо и кога волимо и ко нас воли. А Хрватску не знам и нисам чула да Словени воле.
I saw lots of names I know from Eurovision like Ruslana(Lyzhychko) , Alyona, Anastasia(Prikhodko), Mariya(Yaremchuk) and Svetlana(Loboda). I also really like Zlata(Ognevich), I think it sounds nice.
Zlata isn't Ukrainian name, and we don't have a lot of Zlata here) I tried to make list of the most popular))) But soon I'll make a list of old ukrainian names)
We have new Ukrainian students and one is called Valeriya but we just call her lera Like we have Ilya ( pronounce it but its not spelt like that Vika jenya and gleb
Hi... I have an ukrainian friend and we have a topic...talking about romanian (im romania) and ukrainian names. My name is Alina (we have this name in romania) and her name is Khrystyna (we also have it in romanian but its spelled Cristina) >< This commeng made nonsense
Dear Mrs Olga, do you have any idea about girls names, why ending with letter 'a' for almost all names you read, except lubov, why is there any rule for that
vanga baba prophetess propheciser was from Bulgaria Balkan peninsular country. She was blind saint. She died in 1996. i just want to know if m right. u please don't feel bored. i just want to share cos of my interest in every inch on earth. u correct me whee m wrong. i 'll be happy n like it.
I used to play with the stacking dolls and they all had American names but the little one I always called Alina. I honestly think I was playing with my deceased Ukrainian Grandmother because I don't know where else I would randomly come up with that. 💕🇺🇦
+Nikolai Harhai, where did you get this information from? Boyko people, just like a several of other slavic ethnic groups in Central Europe were there before they were named Ukrainians. Boyko means a son of boye man and originated from the patterns of speech "Bo-ye!" means "It is so!"
meaning of Olga is "blessed, holy, successful"
But the common meaning for Olga is HOLY.

@@AbuAlfadl-GTR I'm very interested in the meanings of names as well
How would I pronounce name Sofijka
Me and my sisters and cousins are adopted from Ukraine. My aunt created her own adoption agency here in the us because her adopted wasn’t a good experience with an American agency and was horrible experience so she started her own.
Why is it that nearly all the girls names end with the letter A in the Ukraine and Russia ?

is the name Nastasiya common in Ukraine? and is it pronounced like Anastasiya, but without the A at the start? and... would Nastya still be the short version? many thanks! Enjoy your videos.
There is only Anastasiya name.
The common pet names are Nastya, Nastusya (Nastoosya), Nata.
I never heard about soneone being called Nastasiya, but its not impossible, many families can get creative with their pet names.
The possibility of naming a baby in official documents by their pet name is rare. So it would almost always be Anastasiya (Анастасія). Nastya/Nata would be odd. Any other - even odder.
I like Daria and Nadia as well as Yuliya...but most sound very nice to the ear
Great video, nice to learn something!
But I am still struggling to pronounce yevgeniya
