Reptile/Dracul Gras playthrough WHEN?! I'm a simple fella. I see Nolly in a video title, I click like. Also, has anyone notices how Juggernaut is turning TEN YEARS OLD NEXT YEAR?!
What if all the Periphery covers Nolly is putting out are secretly the setlist of his reunion tour with them some time in the future? A man can dream right?
Sounds amazing!! , I was just wondering if this is a different mix?? , sounds a lot brighter considering how they mixed those albums to be darker to prevent ear fatigue
I mean the NG line used you can find under 2K. A lot of people I know that complain about instruments in that range own like 3-5 $500 guitars/basses lol. I’m like bro’s just be disciplined and save your money/sell some instruments and you’ll get there 😂
I know they get some hate, but Alpha/Omega are 2 of my most favorite from you guys. I feel like its the bridge between new and old. And it slaps, so there's that.
@@jorah76 haha yes an NG2, actually I prefer the 2 pickup model as I find the middle pickup gets in the way a bit with my picking technique. So it would be great if they brought out just a 2 pickup version. Hopefully someone from Dingwall will chime in and tell us
Anyone got any patches they wanna link me to get this kind of tone with a Line 6 Helix? I think I'm close to this but I don't quite have the low end growl. Any help would be greatly appreciated
@@MaskedJackal87 it's usually just some darkglass pedals with compression if you consider that as highly processed. i saw them live right before he left and the bass tone was just as powerful live as it is in playthroughs
He use light ones, light pick too. pretty sure there is a vid where he talks about his picks and strings. hes also playing through the string to give it extra edge, bouncing it off the fretboard, when he goes hard. cheers. not a massive Nolly fan. But i'm rockin a 6 string NG3 :)
@craigmoran893 Thank you! Yes, I've seen videos where he says he uses regular gauge even for Drop F#. But, I never saw him using the 4-string in this Low A tuning before.
@@CheloWiiUPretty sure he tunes a low A in his prayer position video play through. He did a session on SBL where he talks all things tone and how he approaches it
I Was thinking the same and if he used samples. Either that or that he remixed the original snare drum with fabfilter saturn and his new aproach to mixing snare drums. But it most likely sounds like he used a sample.
i enjoy periphery so much better without the vocals. that tone is INSANE btw. it honestly kinda *makes* the song. it's exceptionally monstrous in this mix too
Actually the OP is right. John Fox (distributor for Dingwall) told me he was at a conference (maybe Guitar Summit can’t remember which one) with Sheldon and Nolly. Nolly said he now only uses the bridge pickup to get as much harmonic content as he can ensure he can mix the mid/high end of the bass how he wants. That you can make up low end in other ways in the post anyway.
Siiiick. Wanna do it live?
Juggernaut 10th Anniversary tour? “Getting Juggernaughty Tour”.
Something I'd love to see. And hear.
PLEASE let this happen in London next year
👀
one more nolly show!!!
Sometimes, there is a crack in the world where I can peer through and see more of this man playing with Periphery.
pure gold
i see what you did there
@@tehsimo no shit
@@SkillIssueRacingChannel thank you for that insight
damn, this guy's good. periphery should hire him.
Bravo, the same joke said on every video 👏
Be a much better joke if he didn't leave the band.
😆
@@brandonwright1377 ehhh, I consider him a studio only member. Nolly does way too much behind the scenes for Periphery to say he “left” the band
Video of Nolly playing anything
me: *like*
Reptile/Dracul Gras playthrough WHEN?!
I'm a simple fella. I see Nolly in a video title, I click like. Also, has anyone notices how Juggernaut is turning TEN YEARS OLD NEXT YEAR?!
Yes yes yes to Dracul Gras, or Wildfire or Wax Wings !!!
I listen/watch your Prayer Position video often, and I am SUPER PUMPED seeing this pop up on my feed! Much Love
Apart from being insanely well played, this make a very reliable backing track for those of us (being guitar player or singer) playing this piece
Such gracious movement, yet powerfullllll
Would actually love a mix of the album with the bass so much in front . This is awesome
Juggernaut already has suuuper loud bass (which I love)
The bass is already pretty loud on that album. And the drums sound awesome. I’m not gonna complain about the mix because it sounds fine.
IVE WAITED YEARS TO SEE THIS. FINALLY OUR MIGHTY BASS JESUS ADAM GRACES US WITH WITH THUNDEROUS BASS OF THE BAD THING. I AM READY TO RECEIVE.
Almost 10 years later and this song still slaps.
OMG that Bass tone!!! 😱😱😱
5:19 That deep breath at the end was very much needed
One of the grooviest songs ever and what a fat & chunky tone, incredible
What a memorable melody line. A real earworm.
the most unexpected video i could see in the feed :0
This has just made the whole week amazing. Amazing work from Nolly as always ❤️
You should try out for Periphery. They need a bass player like you.
nah, they already have adam getgood. nolly is not needed. honestly idk whos better, adam or nolly.
@alephcake 🤣🤣🤣
Awesome heavy bass tone !
What if all the Periphery covers Nolly is putting out are secretly the setlist of his reunion tour with them some time in the future?
A man can dream right?
I like his playing style. Nothing too flashy. just purely clean left- and right-hand technique.
Might cry if I can see Nolly tour again. I remember the P3 tour so well!
Lovely playthrough as usual, some of the parts distinctly remind of funk basslines. Very cool!
man I can watch Nolly doing anything like even just brewing some coffee I will watch and have fun
What a complete and well-rounded human being
Nolly is still the master of metal tone!
Love the combination of the pickguard with the blue finish
the truest playthrough
i've been waiting since prayer position playthrough... it was worth it
Favorite track off this record 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽

Welp, this is now the definitive way for me to listen to this song. I love it.
i love this dingwall + Nolly . i'm a proud owner of ng2 and a ng3
soul crushing tone
We miss you, Lord Nolly...
I see a new Nolly video, I click on it. EZEZ
something about a dingwall just sounds so zingy and great for this low tuned stuff
The snare sounds so much fatter on this mix. Probably one of the best snare tones I've heard in a while.
Sounds amazing!! , I was just wondering if this is a different mix?? , sounds a lot brighter considering how they mixed those albums to be darker to prevent ear fatigue
The Bad Thing what a Great Track and Nolly has those fingers along with the Bass Tone as the Overall Sound is Amazing!!!
Best bass tone ever.
beautiful tone
Está Nolly, está mi like
Ernie Ball, take notes. This is how you mix and EQ a bass demo.
omg it's 2024 and we have a THE BAD THING playthrogh🤯
It would be rly cool if this dude was in periphery
Really a beautiful bass. If only Dingwall made an affordable line of basses for the everyday consumer like Solar did
I mean the NG line used you can find under 2K. A lot of people I know that complain about instruments in that range own like 3-5 $500 guitars/basses lol.

“Fly past the treeees. Play live with Peripheryyyy”
let's be honest... He has one of the best bass tone out there.
That's pure ASMR
Do a 22 Faces playthrough next. The groove in that one is so funky
My god, this man is hot as all hell! And that bass tone is orgasmic too!
you gotta go on the road with Periphery again one of these days man! sick playthrough!
The tone of the bass pick attack is so present, almost like a guitar 3:51 really highlights it
JFC this is amazing!!!!
Ayoooo we got nolly bass playtrough again before GTA VI
So goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood !!!!!! AWESOME !!!!
Straight 🔥!
Hey Nolly, you should play for Periphery-heard they’re still in need of a bassist! 😂
Awesome tonesss tho!
Delicious.
Nice bass cover.Maybe you should audition and become their touring bassist..
AWESOME! NG Rulez!
Back when they still made good shit
The good thing
Yeahhhhhhhhhhh

@@gub4941 early on, people used to hate on it for being too "pop" lmao.
This guy is good! Better than Periphery's bassist!
NOLLEYYYYYY!!!
Amazing tone! which Bass model is that? It doesn't look like the NG model
Seems like an NG3 with the middle pick-up taken out and a custom pickguard. (Does that technically make it an NG2?? 🤔)

Get 3 bass 3 guitars next fellas epic
My bass is very self conscious with low self-esteem, and she considered me watching this as cheating and left me. Thanks Nolly😢
Is Nolly Schrodigers Periphery member?
Psh... made me subscribe.
Didn't thoug he would use that pickup position and passive :O tone in his hands

Great job. You should see if they need a bass player.
I heard that Nolly only uses the bridge pickup now.
String gauge ?
I have been trying to cover this song since the lockdown (COVID) guitar player here👋🏻 anyone can join✌🏻😬
P5 bridge bass tone aaa

the guitar tuning is AGCFAD, so the bass tuning should be AGCF since the open string riffs are the same
