Good luck in your plans.
Great video, Chioma. I love your input. I have a bachelor's degree in Education. Will this be enough for me to apply for a master's on social work? Thank you, dear.
Thanks 🙏🙏
Hello Chioma! Thanks for producing such an informative content. I’m considering to take up a graduate diploma (post graduate)course in my country, may I know if it’s accepted for applying PR in Aus? Thanks ❤
Thank you mam
Hi Chioma, I came across your vid and thought it was god sent 🥺. I was wondering if the state of thing is still true till this day, both in terms of its strong potential for PR with no work experience requirements and the work opportunities after? I am currently finishing my Masters in the UK, with the future looking dreadful.
Since I hope to finally settle down and being able to work to support myself, I am afraid by the time I finish the course, too many people will fill the pathway up?
I understand that you can’t say for certain but I hope to hear from someone in the profession.
Thanks so much and look forward to your insight ❤.
Hey Chimoa, I was wondering if you need work experience after studying Masters in Social work when you apply for the 189 visa. Do you need to apply for post graduate work visa first before applying for 189?
Just got a conditional offer from JCU in MSW ❤
Congratulations!
Hello Chioma! Thank you so much for the lovely videos as always! Love all of them so much! 💫
I was also curious if its possible to work part-time so that I can pay for living expenses while studying MSW in Australia 🇦🇺 Does the study load (especially fieldwork) make it quite difficult?
Yes, most international students work part-time. Field education is full time unpaid, so you will have to plan ahead (save or work on the weekends)
Thanks for this information. Please can you do a video on the online platforms one can do these Bridging courses? Thanks
Search for schools offering them online in Australia. Just a quick google search will help.
Hello, after putting everything together, Although I prefer Australia later decided to go for the Canadian express entry as a skilled worker. Because the process for the Australian is quite more expensive for my field "aircraft Maintenance Engineer" getting skills assessment is really hectic in Australia.
You do what's best for you. I understand that Australia' s immigration is not as flexible as Canada right now. You still have my best wishes in your chosen path. 😊
@ugo how’s that going for you sofar
@@Wakalicious my dear.. it's on hold oo.. gats sort some other life issues. Lol
Hi Chioma. I found your topic interesting. I am a social work graduate and Im a practicing social worker here in the Philippines. I've been in this job for 23 years already. I just want to ask for your advise, what will I do to become a social worker in Australia? Is there an age requirement to become one?
thank you so much for this wonderful video. I'm curious about the licensing though a I have read you need to be licensed to the AASW to get PR? is this not true? thank you!
You don't need to be licensed for PR, rather you need to demonstrate eligibility for membership and this is done by showing relevant SW qualifications (and experience if applicable)
Thanks so much for this informative content. Can one go direct for masters in social works if you hold a degree in sociology
I believe you can since it's a social science background.
You just got a new subscriber , thanks for all you do, is there a way that I can have a session with you ma'am??
Hi, I do not offer 1:1 sessions but you can dm me on instagram and I will respond when I find the time. Thanks @chiomarthur
Hello Chioma im a new subscriber been watching your videos for years i have a Bsc. in Sociology which has similar courses with social worker can i use it to apply for jobs even though i have no working experience as i own my own business
Hello! May I ask regarding taking ACWA and ASSW. I am a registered medical social worker in the Philippines, I just wonder if I am going to take ACWA for accrediation for migration to Victoria? I am weighing between ACWA and ASSW, in terms of fees and requirements. Thanks!
Hi again ma, thanks so much for your effort in this videos. Relating to a Ms in SW, how many years of work experience does a skill assessment require after graduating, if I happen to come from a non-social work background? Thanks again..
Hi Jessica, as long as you can meet the 65 points cut off, you do not necessarily need work experience after your BSW or MSW to return a positive skills assessment.
@@lifewithchioma Wow, I see.. thanks so much dear
I just subscribed to your channel through someone else channel.
I hope to find answers to my questions
Hello, my sister just finished a bachelors in social science and would like to study another bachelors in social instead going for masters, do you think it’s a good idea
Hello there Chioma! Are there any other languages like french and mandarin that put graduates of social work one step ahead of everyone in the hiring process in Australia ? What I mean to ask is are there such languages that can profit our career as a social worker in AUS ?
Mandarin is a popular language here and may be an added advantage.
Hello I am also thinking about going ACAP for masters in social work (qualifying)....how is future prospects and will we get job as social worker after our graduation??
Hello Chioma!! Your new subscriber from India. I want to know the Universities or Colleges for this Social Worker program. What is the entry requirements? Any Agent that you know whom I can contact?
Hi chioma..if i come to australia to study MSW . I will be able to work part time for my financial support or not ?
Very enlightening. Would I need any more certifications to become a clinical Social Worker after a Masters in Social Work?
Nope. Nothing else required except you want to be a mental health accredited social worker, then further training and supervision requirements must be met. See the link www.aasw.asn.au/membership-information/information-for-applying-for-the-accredited-mental-health-social-worker-credential
Thank you so much ma’am. I also sent a dm to you on Instagram pls. I’ll need some clarification on that too. Thanks
How about if your undergraduate?
Can you tell me about digital marketing
Hello Lady Chioma.
Thank you for this informative piece.
I'm interested in a Masters in Social Work in an Australian University.
I have experience in social work on Nigeria
How can you assist please
Hello Irene, watch this video to the end to see how you can find a school. On the school website, there will be instructions on how to apply.
Hi,thanks for informative video regarding socialwork i have some questions i am already doing socialwork n running a charity here in india from last 12 yrs but it started with act of passion so didn't studied ABT it now i want to come to Australia for some years so i need to enroll for bachelor diploma or master diploma did my background as a socialworker will make any impact while choosing the diploma
Yes, your experience may be considered for securing enrolment, but note that all schools are different in terms of their enrolment requirements. You will have to check with each school you are interested in.
Hello dear can I do early childhood education and still get PR or diploma in social work
Hi Chioma, I just came across your videos, they are amazing. I'm from Nigeria, I want to do MSW in Australia. Please I want to know if I can do the bridging course online, how much it cost, and the duration. Thanks
Yes, you can do it online. You can google search for online courses and see course fees and duration
Hello chioma, thank you for this information, please I have a Question about the Bridging course, is it a course to be studied here in Nigeria or a Coutto be studied abroad??
You can study it anywhere, however the challenge with coming to Australia to study a diploma is the high visa rejection rate for diplomas especially for applicants from Nigeria
Hey Chioma thanx a lot.Can I study social work at 53 in Australia ?
Pls chioma , I had my degree in social work here in Nigeria, can I get a work in Australia with my degree while I do master. How do I go about that pls , married
If your social work degree from Nigeria had a work placement component totalling at least 980 hours, and you have relevant work experience, you can try applying for PR directly from Nigeria. But, the study option looks promising for you with your background.
@@lifewithchioma thank you for your reply,I presently work in a government hospital as a medical Social worker/mental health , pls can we talk privately, I'm so much interested and I need help.
I'll need clarification on how to go about applying for pm and all
Chioma,do have any information about moving to Australia when you have got minimal education?
Minimal education in what sense exactly? What's your highest qualification?
Hello ma'am , If I go for the bridging course and complete 6-12 months then would I have to go back in my country and then apply again for masters and then come back for master in social work degree ???

Can you work social work as a part-time? (while studying?)
How can a social worker who gained their qualifications in Nigeria migrate to Australia?
Amazing. What about people already have a Social worker licence from another country ? I have my France licence and have couple of question about it ?

hi after master of social eork 485 will be 2 or 3 years
Thanks for the information, please can we get list of universities that offer social work MSC

Hello Chioma. I do similar work in Uk but no qualifications in social work which is what I would like to do. I’m 56 years old and I don’t think I could do this course at my age. Are you allowed to work while on a course? Thank you for the wonderful information xx
You can work while you study, but your pre qualifying experience will not count toward migration as a social worker. Also, at 56, you can't access the skilled migration visas
Sister, I am bachelor of education in my own country, can I take Master of social worker in Aussy in term of good pathway to Parmanen resident in Australia?
Hi Chioma I'm a new subscriber and I'm a license social work but here in Philippines ... I love your tips and other options. I'm very interested to go to Australia. 💛😇 I hope I know where to start if I decide to migrate there.
Oh I have one question do I have to study again in Australia for social work? Since its a different setting.
Hi thanks for creating the video! I have three questions. 1. With social work certificate/diploma would it be possible to find a visa sponsoring visa? 2. What exactly is the difference between certificate and diploma? 3. Is the demand huge in Sydney?
Hi, first yes it's possible but not the easiest option. A certificate is a lower qualification to a diploma but neither will qualify you as a social worker unfortunately. Thirdly, social work is in demand Australia wide
@@lifewithchioma Thank you very much for your answer :) Appreciate it!!
Hi I'm a fresh graduate of social work in the Philippines, does my diploma can be qualified....? Thank you I really need to have work
Beautiful
May I ask what is difference between studying in University of Melb and University of Queensland(from career prospect)? I really appreciate your answer.
Hello Xiong, unfortunately, I do not know how schools compare in terms of graduate employability. My guess is, the difference will not be significant. As long as you bring the necessary skills to the job, employers are not too fussed about which Australian university you got your degree.
Hi Chioma. I am a Social work student in my 3rd year. Would I be eligible to finish my 3rd year in Australia?
Only way to find out would be to contact schools individually and ask if they accept transfers. I have no idea about this.
Hi Chioma, i have a question. I recently gave IELTS exam and came to know that I need to score 7 in each module in only two sittings. However, on their skills assessment form, it also says that applicants can take the IELTS exam as many times as they want. It's contradicting information. Could you please help and provide the correct information. I appreciate it. Thank you!
From my interactions with other people, my understanding is that you can only combine results from two consecutive sittings to meet the minimum band scores, but you can still sit the exam multiple times. I hope that makes sense
Hi...I am planning to do Master's in SW. It will be very appreciated if you can guide me...thanks
EDUCATIVE GOOD JOB
Is it a good idea to study social work if we don't have any experience ?
ma'am what is the hourly wage pay for a fresher ??
Hi chioma, can i get pr with social science in criminology and crimanl justice?
Not sure about this. If your occupation is consistent with any of the ACWA occupations for PR, and your qualification is considered relevant to the occupation, then yes, you may stand a chance. Maybe email ACWA for clarification
Hello,
How r the assessment and evaluation criteria or how the students going to get evaluated of the Master in Social Work program in general ?
Not sure what your question is in relation to. Are you referring to the assessments you will need to complete in school or assessments toward PR?

Hi Sis, you went straight to Masters as well?
I ve completed my bsc nursing, and im planning to go aus for higher degree course, which course do you think i should choose other than masters in nursing for getting pr easily?
If you are nurse I think there is already a path through skilled immigration.
can i do masters of social work after doing bachelor in community service...
Will a bachelor program enable me travel with my husband ?
Yes.
What about bachelor of human services. is it same as bachelor of social work? I'm little confused in this 2 course , can you help me 🙂
They are not the same but are related. Social work is the only qualification that gives you recognition as a social worker and even though some of the areas of practice overlap, Social work has a much wider range of fields of practice than human services.
Please is there interview before your admitted to the course social works
The school I attended conducted an interview. Not sure if it's the same practice with other schools
Mam good morning please tell me Child care course can be done along with Bachelor of Social Work course
I have no idea. Please check directly with schools
is there any evaluation system other country's social work degrees and experience?
Yes, you have to fulfil the AASW requirements for migration. Please check their website for more information.
Hello! I would like to study Bachelors in Social Work in Australia. Do I have a chance to have my visa approved when the degree I finished here in the Philippines is Dentistry (6yrs course)?
As I mentioned in the video, you will need to study a bridging course prior to the social work course
Can I do masters in social work department with sociology degree? And are there scholarships available for the social work course?
Yes, you can. Please check the school you are interested in for available scholarships.
Hi, my name is Toritse. I live and work in Abuja, Nigeria. I'm very passionate about helping people.. so I've thinking of quitting my job and going for a master's degree program in Counselling and Psychotherapy..but like MSc. Social Work, I'm not sure if Counselling & Psychotherapy will make room for a variety of visa options /opportunities...Please I also like to know if licensure is required for practicing Counselling in Australia .
I really hope to hear from you soon🤞
And just so you know, you are impacting alot of lives positively, more than you can imagine🙂
Oh! I forgot to mention that my ultimate goal is to permanently reside with my 18 month old son while practicing Counselling and Psychotherapy in Australia ..through schooling
Social work has better prospects in relation to the other courses/occupations you mentioned.
Hi, thanks for the info ma'm, pls I'm studying social work presently in Nigeria, but I'll like to study in Australia, what are the first steps to take in studying social work in Australia with a full scholarship
The requirements you would need to fulfil will depend on the school you are interested in but generally speaking, you may be required meet English language requirements (IELTS band 7). If you are asking whether you can land a full scholarship here, I am unsure about that. You will have to find out directly from the school or check their website for scholarship opportunities.
