around 6 minutes, you mention that the sympathetic nervous system readies your body, but you skip the fact that the physical changes such as dilated pupils, increased heart rate and respiration are due to the autonomic nervous system

Hey man, I know it's a long shot since you've uploaded these videos years ago but I was just wondering. What ever happened to parts 8 and 9? These videos have helped me a lot with my studies.

Unfortunately, Ch. 8 & Ch. 9 was never completed and will likely will not be. However, I do have planned content on short videos on these topics as well as topics that would have been covered in Ch. 8 & Ch. 9 in the future. I'm sorry. Though I am happy to hear that the videos have been helpful.

i had panic attacks in 2015.. I thought i had a heart attack / stroke or i felt that i was dying... :-( it was really frightening because no one explained what panic attacks to me. I went to the hospital but they checked me in and bombarded with medicines (and told me to take those maintenance meds for my liver, vertigo, cholesterol, etc etc). I had more panic attacks "after" I was checked out. Then less than a week I was admitted to another hospital and the doctors told me to stop those meds... I always felt that I was misdiagnosed and/or got overdosed with those meds :-( Thank God, I seldom experienced panic attacks in 2016. And I thoroughly searched about Panic Attacks and dealt it head on every time I had anxiety attacks and over came it...

there was also a time that I was afraid to go out from the house, ride a bus alone, travel alone, go to church, to the malls or any crowded place because I had my attacks in those places. I was a cheerful and adventurist before the panic attacks..

I am very sorry for your experiences, however, I am cheerful that you were able to overcome them. Panic attacks are unfortunately misunderstood a lot of the time. It is important to see a doctor, if not more than one sometimes, to be certain about the severity of the panic attacks and to see if medication is required or at least recommended. Thank you for sharing your experience with panic attack and I think it adds to the lecture and the understanding of panic attacks and panic disorder.

I had a friend at work before and she'd always told me that she was having anxiety attacks. I would laugh at her and told her it was just nervousness or something. She never explained to me what she went through physically & emotionally. And when I had them? I was not prepared hahaha... I never imagined that the aftermath of the panic attack could be physically draining. I experienced to have an attack in the morning and I just rested on the bed the whole day, I was really really weak... :)

Panic attacks can be very draining indeed and not just a person who is suffering from them but to those who care for the person too. I hope your friend also is able to overcome them. Panic attacks are very severe.

Great presentation - I got a lot out of this. Just a little hard to listen for too long because the speaker has a slight lateral lisp:-( This can be distracting to the listener, especially for long periods of time.
