Man you just saved me nearly $400!!! I was going to pay a shop to do this and something told me to check UA-cam. I normally work on all my cars, I just use UA-cam for help unless it's a hard job. But this was a life saver for real. Thank you!
Mine is leaking at the same location. New radiator got here yesterday so I’m about to get to it and switch it out in the garage with help of your video
@@WorldsOkayestFarmer already done! Only took about an hour to fully complete by myself. Couldn’t find a mopar antifreeze locally, I used zerex purple and I left her running for 20 min, never went over 208 degrees so she’s working just fine. Now to swap these 16 plugs 😭
@@devontaedunn1278 I didn’t but I feel like it would be just a little easier. My front bumper has come off so many times I’m definitely use to doing it but no I had no “need”to remove the front bumper to swap the radiator. 2020 rt with built and forged 426, saving some extra money for my supercharger
I got a question maybe somebody can help me with, so I have a 2011 charger v6, and i was following this video to the tee, (i dont know a lot about cars thank God for UA-cam) but there are 3 hard lines on the left side looking down from the front of the car, i think they're for the condenser or AC lines?? but they look like they're attached to the radiator. I'm scared to disconnect them. I don't want to mess nothing up. And they're not mentioned in the video at all. It looks like the were disconnected in the video but it doesn't show or say anything about them. Anybody know what these lines are and if they have to come off?? Someone please help!! Any info is appreciated. thanks.
I might be able to help. I recently did this on my 2007 charger. I have the 5.7 V8, so I’m not sure if it’s different for the V6, but those 3 lines are for the condenser and transmission fluid cooler. They sit on the front side of the radiator (the bumper side) and are only held on with 4 bolts, so as long as you don’t just let the condenser hang by the hoses, you will be able to replace the radiator without touching those lines. I recommend doing some research on the internet, as well as reading a Hanes manual for your specific car. Hope this helps. Lmk if you have anymore questions.
@@WorldsOkayestFarmer yeah there’s a small plastic valve that tube is attached too and my was just leaking straight from that. I twisted it and it seemed to have stopped leaking for now
If I order Mopar will it come stamped as Denso? There's like $100 difference and my Mopar alternator came stamped Denso and I don't want to pay double for the same product.
Its amazing how car designers think stuff like this through. Why would they make it a nightmare to change the radiator on these cars! 2005 silverado, radiator changed out, 16 min flat, job done. This dodge, ridiculous.
This happened to me 2 days ago in my 2013 RT Daytona. Sprayed out front bumper when driving. Think the leak is coming from passenger side bottom or mid area. 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Better be careful spilling all that antifreeze on electrical parts. Motor City Mechanic has very good videos on a lot of Chrysler Dodge Jeep vehicles in the actual dealer shop, and I also recommend using cardboard to protect the radiator as you put it in. Really tight spaces. Flush the whole system by warming the car up so the thermostat will open up, and use distilled water, because regular water causes rust.
jesusalba1989 yeah I remember that I think I took off the plastic on top and reached my fingers in between the two frame pieces with a ratchet or something it been a while
Just the fact that they purposely didnt include a transmission dipstick is plenty for me to decide to never buy a dodge. For a car manufacturer to pull a move like that is ridiculous.

I have a leak in the same spot , was it the radiator it self, or coming from where the plastic tank meets the aluminum core of the radiator
I cant remember exactly its been a couple years but it was leaking bad.
I replaced my whole radiator, small leak, I'll have it repaired for a spare. Never no
A difficult project to film and the best attempt I've seen so far.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Do you have to bleed the coolant system??
No
Just drain completely then add 50/50 coolant when all put back together
Yes. There is a bleeder screw on the water pump near top hose.
Thank you man 🙏🏽 just saved me a lot of $$

What if the rubber things don’t fit on the new radiator, I tried to switch them to the new one but they fall off easily
I had to replace a radiator recently on my 2007 charger rt. It’s crazy how little the design changed in 6 years between the ‘07 and ‘13 chargers
Dank_Crusad3r yeah if you have something that works they keep the same
do u know what kind. a tool u nedd to remove the transmission oil lines ✌👀
Great video... Where did you get your radiator from?
Deno Best thanks I don’t remember prob rock auto where I buy most of my parts
Do you need the rubber parts that go along the top and bottom of the radiator
No
Buen video 💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍💯💯💯
What brand of radiator you bought on rocket auto ?
Rock auto I got the spectra premium it was $150 at the time
Charger are notorious for radiator issues find you an aftermarket unless you want to keep replacing the dealership problematic ones
I went with the after market rad! Sounds like its a good thing I did.
You're right! Mine was clogged and I went with the aftermarket and worked great.
I believe my drain hose is leaking I’m wondering if I can just turn that knob and it will stop entirely or if I need a new drain hose
I dont think the drain hose is leaking or im confused what you mean? There is a valve to turn then drains out a hose?
@@WorldsOkayestFarmer yeah there’s a small plastic valve that tube is attached too and my was just leaking straight from that. I twisted it and it seemed to have stopped leaking for now
Wrap it with electrical tape if the hose is leaking
Was wondering if this job could be done from the top without removing the front bumper or support bracket under the radiator. Thanks for the info!
Possibly its been a while but I think some of the front grille has to come apart!

Do you need the plastic things that go at the bottom and top of the radiator
Ethan Gonzalez I’m not sure exact what you mean
Worlds Okayest Farmer the rubber parts that you got from the old radiator that hook on, each go on top and on the bottom. what if you don’t use them?
@@enfic7772 yes, because it holds the radiator in place.
Did this cause for your vehicle to overheat?
No I changed the radiator
@@WorldsOkayestFarmer I’m sorry let me rephrase that, before you installed the new radiator, with the leak your old radiator had, did it overheat?
@@HulkoticRuiz no it did not overheat. Was just a slow leak I noticed a puddle under it.

HEY MAN DID YOU NOTICE A LARGE AMOUNT OF COOLANT LOST? I HAVE THAT LEAK AND I WOULD BE LOOSING COOLANT LIKE CRAZY
