I've had mine since January I love it the pole adapter is a must using the vac Daddy. I would love to see a picture or video of you caring your stuff because that's where I struggle with the most carrying the tote and the back Daddy and your polet all at the same time would love to how you do it. Great machine regardless it's minor draw backs
Thanks for the great feedback on the VacDaddy. I am liking the product also. The Power Unit is a bit bulky in my opinion. I would have went with a more box shape. That said, I put that in my Tote and in the video had it attached to the pole, but I found it better to carry it with the Primate adapter and keep my pole and net on the TK Caddy and then the VacDaddy in the other hand. I am looking for a strap for the cord. Thought a built in clip on the body itself would be a good touch. My other thought would be to carry the power unit in a back pack and attach a strap to the Primate Extension and sling it over my shoulder. They need some type of kit but of course their first goal is getting the product out there.
I know you mentioned it somewhere, a “vac to waste” option would separate it from the others. If they add that it becomes more interesting. Great video. 👍
@@paulk9188vac to waste is the ability to vacuum anything (usually algae) directly out of the pool. So instead of everything being being sucked up into a self contained unit, or bag, it’s sucking it directly out of the pool usually out into the grass.
If this was cordless it would make sense, but if I have to hook up cords and stuff anyways, why not just use the skimmer hose? I guess this would make sense for a pool with a weak pump or too small to have a good skimmer.
It actually sets up pretty fast. In the situation you described it would be ideal. I think the biggest benefit is that all of the dirt and leaves don't go into the filtration system.
If it had an under water rechargeable battery maybe, but the minute you had to find an outlet it was a no for me for my route. For that price point I'm still a Bottom Feeder guy. Maybe for a home owner?
Not gonna lie, this seems like it would take as long as a regular vacuum. I like the idea for a vac to waste idea instead of a separate pump and or using the system with little suction. But the bottom feeder is so light and works very well and all in one trip. Seems cool but niche
The Bottom Feeder is an underrated machine for sure and one of my favorites. Since I am a big user of the Precision 2.0 I find the VacDaddy to be a good choice for this type of system vacuum alternative. I would say it is a niche product at the moment until it develops more wide appeal. I enjoy the power of the vacuum and also thing a vacuum to waste option would be ideal with it.
I am looking for a vacuum for just dust and dirt. I have a riptide for the debris and sand pools. But you don’t show the vac daddy vacuuming straight dirt/dust. I need to see if that vac daddy clouds the pool while picking up dust
I will have to film it vacuuming strictly dirt. But the Felt bag does a good job with dirt, you may have to stop and empty it a couple of times. You can try the VacDaddy for 2 weeks for $149.00 and that will be applied towards the purchase if you decide to get one. email Alan@thevacdaddy.com
Probably. It doesn't need any more suction honestly. And it can be attached directly. But besides the Pro Vac all the other vacuum heads will need it so I wanted to show it.
@@SPL In my experience with using bags of such a low micron, water doesn't escape the bag and just shoots debris right back out the bottom. Just sort of spins debris around its base.
3:55 "It's not made for a pool with heavy debris... " Hmm, is there such a vacuum that's made for heavy debris? I would imagine at this price tag, this is it! But there are more bigger, more expensive baddies out there? LOL!
Love your videos David, but OMG! The price is up to over $1,500 and with your pool code it's still a GRAND! I just bought a Dolphin, Nautilus Supreme for $1,450. It has an ultra clean function that cleans the heck out of the pool with a 3.5 hour cycle, while I sleep, work, or do something else. Why on earth would I pay $1,000 to stand there and push and pull a heavy vacuum on a pole? And you think they could include the pole for that much. I guess for someone like you, who goes out to clean pools everyday, might want one for the speed of cleaning. But for a homeowner like me, I keep the pool clean with my Dolphin so I don't need the rush job. For quick spot vacuuming, I use the PoolBlasterMax - $179 on Amazon (mine still works after 8 years too)! It's battery powered and doesn't weigh a lot. Love your video's David, sorry that this one gave me whiplash when I saw that price. Bet these don't stay on the market that long - maybe pool guys who do this for a living will keep them in bussiness, but I doubt it will be homeowners.
@@SPL Never thought of that tbh. I know using a tri vac on a vinyl liner is rough. I’ll look into that Pentair vac head. We got this vac for some of our younger guys that don’t understand hydraulics and i can send em out quick to clean a pool with no issues
This is a good choice for pools with a lot of dirt and fine leaf debris. A Vacuum System like the Riptide XP or Bottom Feeder are great for pools with heavy debris.
I've been in the industry for 14 years now, I purchased the bottom feeder almost 2 years ago and its been the best tool I've ever purchased. Bottom feeder has a super fine 57 micron bag that traps all but D.E. The battery last 2 hours and in the time I've owned it I've only had it die once and only because I forgot to charge it the night before and thought i could make it through the day as is. There are no wires to plug into a wall or a hose to plug into a skimmer. I even introduced it to my mentor and he decided to buy one as well. I will say it's not without it's drawbacks, there's certainly a learning curve, the flaps wear down often, the bags are delicate and expensive to replace, the charger it comes with (I'm on my second) has a really flimsy wire that your should be gentle with because it wears down and exposes the actual wiring (happened to both chargers). The overall experience has still been pretty great, give the bottom feeder a chance.
This would probably be better served as a homeowner product, as it's applications are pretty situational. There are a variety of products on the market that will essentially do the same thing. And it would be a good idea to find a way to knock at least a grand off the price. Conventional vacuuming is about same set up time. I leave vac hoses at my pools were I need to use them with any frequency. Certainly by now, in the absence of a multiport backwash valve, there should be a 3-way installed between the pump and the filter for "vac to waste".
Their website says this retail price is $1,595!!! LOL, yeah right. I'll take two. This must be a joke. Can't a good product come out that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
@@SPL Great point of view but Im so used to carry my ol pwrvc without cart that anything else that takes more than 20 secs to assemble sounds impractical lolz

This is exactly what I’ve been searching for
Bottom feeder with mako bag and primate pole! Its good to see new tools on the market.
I know Im pretty randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to stream newly released series online ?
I know you mentioned it somewhere, a “vac to waste” option would separate it from the others.

That and a cartridge filter would make this a more unique unit. The Vac to Waste would be a game changer. 👍
What’s “vac to waste”..?

My thoughts exactly... would be easier to just plug a hose into skimmer, vac and walk away. This is a gimmick vac for Mr. and Mrs. pool owner.

agree.
Looks like more work, ur it’s probably good for an above ground pool, or as an emergency back up.
Yeah nothing beats a hammerhead or a riptide, so far at least. I was hoping this thing could do vac to waste.
@@MackDaddyVic they do have a vac to waste option now!
hey, can this product be used on a liner pool?
Yes. Wheeled vacs are not really recommended on vinyl but I use them with caution

Doesn’t get the pump basket dirty when you vacuum very convenient
That is a big plus.
Why did you use the 1.5" adapter piece? Wouldn't it suck more if you removed the 1.5" adapter on your Pro-Vac and went straight 2"?

For vinyl liner pools works fine?
Maybe with a brush vac or only a new wheeled vac because sometimes the area around the wheel may tear the liner.

Nope
Debris bag is tiny. Who would want to pull that heavy pole out every two minutes to empty the bag.
Only issue i have with the vac daddy is suction is too strong can’t move the pole. Almost like is suction is so strong and get stuck to the floor
