  • Riding my new 2025 KTM 350XCF at KickIn Roost MX! First time on a track with this new bike. I started with the stock suspension settings and was feeling too much of the track (dry and choppy today). I went to my Comfort settings (Front C18 R24 Rear C20 R 20 HSC 2.5) and way better bumps absorption on the chop and sharp edges. 350's are such a great combination of Power/Weight/Handling and this latest 350 engine in the updated 2025 KTM chassis with new WP spring forks does not disappoint! The 350 engine has strong low to mid power and still pulls forever on top and both of the stock EFI maps run clean and crisp. The updated WP spring forks are impressive! The rear of the bike has more comfort too with the updated frame along with linkage and shock changes. This could be the first Austrian bike I ride with the stock suspension. Looking forward to more rides soon in the woods and on the local moto tracks. Also plenty of back to back rides with my '21 KTM 350 Kailub Russell Edition and 24.5 KTM 450 Factory Edition.

    350 is one of the funnest bikes ever made. This video really makes we want to run out and grab a 25’. Nice job!

    Love my 350xcf FE. Have about 12hrs on it now and its been great, I do have a lot of aftermarket parts on it and suspension work done, but I need to get the Connected unit on it, like you said it has more engine braking than a 450, at first I thought no way, but I rode my 22.5 450sxf back to back and the 350 does has more. Loving the low end it has also, did change gearing to a 14/48 trying to make it good on both trail and the track.

      350XCF Factory Edition models are so cool looking right off the showroom floor! Some nice functional upgraded parts to go along with the orange bling too! The CUO unit is a cool way to dial in the engine power character for you bike.

      the 350 has 14.6:1 compression and 450 is 13:1 comp. That is the crazy compression braking you feel, I suspect it is the cause of the cough stalls the 350's have been known for over the years too. It seems to have really dialled mapping now, so those flame outs seem to not be an issue in 2025. I still would like to test a 350 with Lower compression. Surprised we do not need race gas in the 350 with such high compression!

      @@RobPafford KTM and Husky offer the 350 with lower compression ratio (and 9 hp less) in the KTM 350XCFW and Husky FE350 - both engines run smoothly at low RPM and are fairly stall resistant. Wonder what compression ratio Billy Bolt or Mani L. run on their factory endurocross 350's?

    that is a great review, thank you, 2025 350XCF or 450XCF, brochure weights 104.2 vs 104.8 kg literally 1.32 pounds heavier for a 450. If the CUO tuner can dial the 450 back to 350 levels.....tough decision! I know the 450 will always feel heavier with the extra torque. It will come down to ride ability and off idle power delivery for me (tight Tech trails) as a counter point to my 300 xc! I am really Looking forward to that back to back review!!! Thank you!!

      Yes I did my first 350XCF vs 450FE back to back at a local moto track this past weekend. Will post the video soon. Ordering a CUO unit for my new 350XCF - looking to dial in the power character!

      The biggest difference in that decision for me would be the gearbox. For my riding I wish they made the 450XCF with a 6 speed or or at least a more versatile 5 speed

      @@brianh8484 2025 KTM 450XCF comes with a 6-speed gearbox! That should be a very good bike now with added versatility of the 6-speed!

    Excellent review. Curious if the new 2025 chassis requires the same 70-75 mm of chain slack?

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  14 днів тому

      Yes - they still recommend a lot of chain slack and if you listen in the video you can hear the chain chattering under braking into corners. My buddy's 24 MC450 felt stiff under acceleration - I found his chain was too tight. The new chassis swingarm pivot to counter shaft sprocket location requires a lot of chain slack (65~70mm per KTM).
