  • Riding my new 2025 KTM 350XCF vs my fully dialed 2021 KTM 350 Kailub Russell Edition back to back on a short woods loop! Back to back rides are a great way to get a feel for characteristics of different bikes!
    2021 KR350 Lap Time 2:49.34
    Lightweight, agile, and quick handling with what feels like fully built 250F engine. This bike is plush and compliant especially with full WP Pro Component suspension. The Akrapovic exhaust is quiet and helps the overall power. This bike has been my gold standard and favorite 4-stroke dirt bike for a few years now. My new 25 350XCF is challenging the gold standard!
    2025 350XCF Lap Time: 2:48.35
    1-second quicker! I consider a lap time difference of 1-sec or less to be a tie!
    350's are such a great combination of Power/Weight/Handling and this latest 350 engine in the updated 2025 KTM chassis with new WP spring forks does not disappoint! The 350 engine has strong low to mid power and still pulls forever on top and both of the stock EFI maps run clean and crisp. I installed a complete Akrapovic exhaust system on the bike and it is quieter, lighter, and has a spark arrester too. The updated WP spring forks are impressive! The rear of the bike has more comfort too with the updated frame along with linkage and shock changes. This could be the first Austrian bike I ride with the stock suspension.
    Looking forward to more back to back rides with my '21 KTM 350 Kailub Russell Edition and 25 KTM 350XCF!

    cool review!! I was wondering if the new bike would be a big improvement over your all time favourite!!! Going to be interesting to see how the extra "weight feel" may be affected by dialing our compression braking with the CUO!

      I've ridden the 24 Husky FC350 with the CUO and engine braking minimized...lightens up the feel of the new bike. My CUO has arrived at the dealer - going to install it soon!

      @@mxengineer1 thanks. Enjoying your videos. In the market for either 350 or 300. You talk a lot about the suspension adjustments. Could you do a video explaining front and rear? You turn all the way left and then count clicks back?

    • @mxengineer1
      @mxengineer1  6 днів тому +1

      @@jameshadel7468 For my '25 350XCF KTM standard settings for the front are C12 R18 and for the shock C15 R15 HSC 1.5. That means for gently turn the clickers clockwise all the way in till they stop. Next go out the recommended number of "clicks". For example for the forks C12 means turn the compression adjuster on the top of the fork out 12 clicks. Do the same for the rebound adjuster at the bottom of the forks 18 clicks. For the shock same turn the compression and rebound adjusters all the way in clockwise till it stops then out 15 clicks. The High Speed Compression (HSC) is a dial (the larger 3-prong adjuster). Turn HSC dial in clockwise till it stops then back out 1.5 turns. I like more comfort and compliance so I run my forks at C18 R25 and rear shock at C20 R20 HSC 2.5. Take time to spin the clickers and see if you can feel the difference. The owners manual for your bike will have recommendations for clicker settings.

    I have an 18. I just can’t part with it. Probably my favorite do it all bike. Not the best at everything, but does most things very well. If you can have two or three bikes, might not be the best. But if you can just have one, this is it.

      I had the 16 350XCF, 19/20 FX350, and 21 350XCF. My 21 350XCF with the myKTM connectivity unit and full Akrapovic exhaust had a very broad powerband (best of the previous generation 350 engines I had ridden). The 24/25 350 engine with the latest EFI map (better than the 23 350SXF/XCF map) and my '25 350XCF is the best 350 engine to date with very good low to mid power and strong mid to top power. This new engine very fun to ride and with the engine braking dialed back and easy enough to dial up throttle response for more low to mid power using the CUO I think you will find this latest engine a nice improvement over your 2018 engine.
