Good stuff Tom! Looks like your car is now IKEA spec...missing bolts, wrong size, loose screw...haha! And always nice to find stuff in the engine bay that you dropped months ago. FYI, I did the APR IC install on my car and did not take off the whole front. IIRC, IE has a manual which shows how to swap out the IC with just taking the bumper off. Definitely easier if you have a lift, but we did it in my buddy's garage and worked pretty well.
Yeah this car is a mess lol I have a lot of cleaning up to do. Yeah the front end doesn't need to be removed but when you already don't have coolant or refrigerant it's pretty easy. The headlights needed to come out anyway because I'm swapping them with the blue car, I think I edited that out though.
Nice work on the video, only comment is the constant moving camera is making me sea sick LOL. No seriously get a tripod. On another note how did you get around the AC cooling lines. did you have that drained before you started. The engine coolant is no biggie. I need to pull the rad support out of my MK6 and hoping to leave the rad and AC cooler in place. Any tips? thx
Hey Mark, yeah I've noticed my shakiness 😬 I'm actually quite behind on editing (by a few weeks) but the newest videos I'm recording are MUCH steadier. Thank you for the feedback. Releasing the AC refrigerant to the environment is illegal and can carry huge fines if you're caught, so I recommend looking into a service that can come collect it for you. Those lines are under a lot of pressure so definitely make sure to have that drained before you attempt to remove the T45 bolts
@@FAZEDTom Agreed, was planning to leave the rad and intercooler as one unit. Hoping I did not have to remove the refrigerant. I have been looking for a video where the rad support was replaced. Will keep looking. Keep making videos as they are helpful.
My car had some slipshod HID fog light retrofit crap going on. The HID bulbs completely burned off all the reflective part on the inside of the housings. Ended up trashing all of it and going back to stock style LED bulbs and brand new housings. lol
Can anybody give me a list of most of the parts consisting from the hood all the way down but in front of the engine.? I have a wrecked GTI but no idea what parts I need since they’re all smashed up. Supports are all good
Only reason I don't have one of the rarest cars I ever owned still is because of not having the space. I feel your pain there for sure. Was a 1987 Toyota Corolla FX16 GTS
Oh man, that's an awesome car!! Do you have more space now? Yeah I don't mean to sound unappreciative because a lot of people have no work area whatsoever.
👍Next time you have to do an intercooler and dont want to drain coolant or refrigerant. This is a good tutorial. Makes it much easier. ua-cam.com/video/qus4VIxFHes/v-deo.html
Good job. Glad to see there are still young guys out there working on their own stuff. I know too many that can’t even change a tire
Hey guys, I have to decommit from my Monday-Wednesday-Saturday schedule but I'll continue posting at least 2-3 times per week 👌🏻

Sensor at 12:00 is ambient air temp sensor
Sweeeet, that was my hunch. Thanks Tony

Sheesh that sounds horrible haha
ambient temp sensor and the plug you referred to is the bonnet open close swith plug
Thanks man, learned something new today! 👍🏻
Did you mark anything before taking it off? Does the crashplate just bolt in place with no adjustment to worry about?
the crash bar bolts up and you can adjust it a bit to make the hood and headlights fit better

Oh gosh lol might be time for a bigger house then
@@FAZEDTom only moved in a year ago lmao Have a 1990 prelude I'm restoring, a 2002 jetta 1.8t I'm gonna big turbo and my mk6R

Yeah putting the front end in service mode will be easier if you have coolant and refrigerant in the engine
