There's no denying that alpine makes great products, but their pricing is just ridiculous. Kicker has a 12 inch with a passive radiator for less than half this price
@@BreakersStereo The sub alone is $650. The regular size (non shallow mount) is $380 in comparison with better performance than this shallow mount sub.
@@jimjones3287the shallow mount sub is amazing while pricey, when your limited to a shallow woofer this takes the cake. If you have space for a regular sub there is no reason for a shallow.
Kind of wish there were the SPL tests and what not you've done in other tests. Kind of wondering how this compares to the JL and Audiomobile low profile subs.
Pls. do a shallow mount head to head spl test with all of the main contenders!! That would be so helpful in this day and age - shallow mount subs are becoming more and more important, and there are few if any comprehensive tests out there to measure their performances
If you had a 600 watt amp @ 1 ohm while the sub is wired at @ ohm its probably only going to be seeing 100-200 watts maybe with box rise. I'd always double the amp power at the wired Ohm level to combat box rise. It will greatly help with more output from your sub
Have 2 of these with a custom sealed box made for my f250 that goes behind the back seat and omg they slam so hard and that's because I'm running at low watts below the 600 rms and it still hits so hard
When are you gonna do an in-depth review of the alpine R2-S652? I need that review ASAP! Pair it with the R series 4 channel amp for the review too as that’s the set up I’m interested in installing in my car. Please and thanks!
I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado crew cab and wanting some bass with out sacrificing space so what my idea is I'm going to take the center console the seat part out and I'm going to integrate a subwoofer box in there and run this up I think it'll be a great option and I will not sacrifice space or seating
Hi Josh, Im thinking of getting this one and combining it with the Alpine R2-A75M mono. I have a C63S coupe, you think its going to be good enough? also debating between the 2 other combos of: JL Audio CS112LG-TW3 + JL Audio JD1000/1 or Rockford Fosgate T1S-1x12 + Rockford Fosgate T500-1bdCP Or maybe I should get something else? and not shallow? budget isn't issue. thanks !
Would this sub and box combo fit in the rear seat of a f150 crewcab. I wouldn't mind something like this without lifting the rear seat or getting a custom setup
You can fit 2 type R under the seat. Search up foxbody acoustics, they make a nice box! I had it in my truck for a year running 2 type R 10” subs and it sounded awesome!
That's great and all, but having the exposed back is a bad decision. Some people do not want to risk damaging their investment. Bad decision on Alpine.

Can’t argue that this box is pretty high. But we have noticed some price decreases lately so hopefully this will get one
I got both alpine and kicker sub. Alpine sub sound a lot nicer than kicker.

And the internal bracing and box construction on the kicker is superb!!

Fact that you could have it down-firing and still throw your golfclubs on top of it seems appealing

Wanting to see how it compares next to the jl tw3 and audio mobile shallow subs
And hertz mps300
Yes, we’re gearing up to compare a bunch of shallow subwoofers that include the JL, audio Mobile, and the new hertz.
@@BreakersStereo the Dayton audio reference ho 10 , only 5 inches deep is another contender and I feel would beat most or all the others
Blew 2 12 tw3s and replaced them with 2 of these 10s. Tw3s really let me down. These alpine sound so much better. Coming from a jl lover
I just tried 2 JL w7 subs because I heard so much about them. Needless to say I liked my type R better
omg I have one full size Alpine R 10 inch with 1000 watts going to it. It's amazzzzzzing bass for 1 subwoofer!

Never really understood box rise. Can you please explain what you would run on the 8” Kicker Q class rated for 500RMS at what RMS and Ohms?

Hay Josh in your honest opinion what is the best shallow mount sub you have heard?
Audiomobile EVO 10” JL TW3 is a close 2nd, but I left this Alpine in my van since the review and I’m starting to really like it.
@@BreakersStereo I think AM is probably the best also. Always been a fan of Alpine since the birth of Type R

I have a ford excursion what is a recommended sub and box that will hit hard and sound awesome? What would you recommend?
What kind radio is that?
How does this compare to the Rockford Fosgate T1S2-10? Debating between those two subs!
the price 😬😬😱
Do you have any old school alumapro ??
Bp series loaded enclosure.
You really want to test a subs deep hits/low range id highly suggest checking out this song Yookie - Subs
Will this pair up nice with the audison sr 5.600 ?
Yes. That amp does 550 watts on the 5th channel at 2 ohms

Hey I have f150 4 door can it fit
where is your video about new alpines R2 ? it was deleted ?
Yeah we took that one down. I didn’t tune the amp correctly so the content was in accurate.
So we pulled it down
That thing bumps for its size
👍
Does this sub sounds better than JL 12TW3 D4?
yes..
the 10'' L7T seems louder and deeper than this one
That's great and all, but having the exposed back is a bad decision. Some people do not want to risk damaging their investment. Bad decision on Alpine.
Might be great speaker for a jeep.. which has absolutely no room to put bulkier drivers in...
That what made me watch this I have a jeep
Almost 700.00 for a 12... Hell no....
