What's the S stand for?
@@davehenderson6896 S stands for special.Like 14900K vs 14900K Special.
Any Intel "KS" CPU is completely pointless unless you're an OC enthusiast.
or you are rich
There's nothing wrong with these Special Edition processors if the buyer has an unlimited budget.
I remember trying to talk a kid out of buying an 8086k. He was building with a $1500usd budget and he had to take concessions on the rest of his build to fit the 8086k into the picture.
If you have the money go for it, but I don;t know how much OC head room there is.

The winner of this benchmark is the 7800X3D shitting on both of them while beating both prices by a wide margin.

can you test the 7800X3D or 7950X3D vs the KS i am curious about the flight sim perf
what is the fps program used?
The S just stands for Super Expensive. Why isn't it 14900KSX though?
That must be a monster cooler you are running to keep these chips at 60 degrees.
It’s a terrible cheap cooler
What about strategy games benchmarks? Because all this games that you showed are console oriented too
Im still amazed that after all these years noone has noticed or even mentioned what's wrong with your cpu benchmarks.
You should upgrade the ram to like ddr 8000 or something 14th series suppose to be alot more compatible with high end memory
Performance Likely Improved 0.89% with KS Version
I prefer use that watts in a sound system with a great music.
The whole deal with the KS model is factory binning for better silicone.
Why do people act like it was ever anything more than that and pretend to be disapointed?
it is a pointless money crap, are you serious?
How do you cool these CPUs down?

$671.99 for 4 frames on average. And this is why I stuck with AMD.
Después de ver el vídeo voy a necesitar meditar varios meses para decidir cuál de los dos comprarme.
This snake oil is a waste of sand
It's time to use Dragons Dogma 2 in tests )
I'm intrigued as to why the 1% and especially 0.1% lows were so much better on the KS... Did you use the actual same system and swap the CPUs, or did you use two systems with the exact same spec?... Realistically I cannot see how a couple of hundred MHz can increase the 1% and 0.1% so much on its own, and I wonder if you have other variables in your test setup...
Even if you use two systems with the exact same spec, you will have variance in the other hardware that will affect results, and there can easily be software variation : for such a difference in the lows, I'd suspect a driver difference, a Windows update difference, or an extra piece of software running in the background on the non-KS system (which I assume you've had for longer so might have more superfluous software on it, compared to a fresh install system to test the KS on?)
100% measure diffrence not actual improvment
im finally upgrading my build form 2017 and currently have an i7 7700k. obviously upgrading to either one of these is a huge difference, but which one is realistically the better choice? Is the 14900ks worth the extra 110 bucks or would i not even notice a difference? any opinions appreciated
The answer is simple: Ryzen 7 7800X3D. Check the benchmarks if you don't believe.
@@lothariobazaroff3333 peace of shit, best cpu for price/power for today it is 10900k, you can buy this for 200$ and play all games with rtx4070 on ultra settings with very high frame rate
+10 degrees for 3 extra frames? Thats seems like a good upgrade
look how stable clock is on ks, and look at 0.1% lows. For esport tittles with 540hz monitors, the difference is huge.
540hz 😂😂😂😂
More than 75c when gaming 😮
yup it needs delid + direct die
The KS is just like the XE chips, overclockers only
3 фпс разницы и 30 ватт разница потребления ,круто😂
это физика, ее не обмануть. Повышение частоты очень значительно повышает энергопотребление, потому как зависимость между частотой и энергопотреблением квадратичное.

So are you saying I shouldn't upgrade from one to the other?
hmmmmmm
pls make i9 13900k vs 14900ks that will be nice how much better the cpu is to the normal i9 13th
Increasing wattage and temperature yields very little benefit.
they literally preform the exact same no point in spending $750 on the ks version plus u can just overlock the i9 14900k to 6.2ghz and get the same or more fps
agreed. But overclocking the 14900k you would need one hell of a cooler... 7800X3D looking more and more desirable!
@@Vanacloud never overclock
What resolution is this? 4k?
Its 1080p
It's kind of unbelievable how they try to float off a KS version that's probably just software enhanced.. or not even. Oh it's KS so all the overclockers wanna grab it. But you can barely overclock the i9 as it gets. Seems so redundant.
The low 0.1% is the only benefit for the 14900ks ngl... and i think this is really a benefit for people using emulators or CPU heavy titles.
Why do you test it with 1080p quality and not 4? I don't understand your video._.

Чтоб упор был в процессорную часть
@@theplayerofus3194K. What? Did you know he was referring to the resolution? So why did you ask?
It's because the majority of those who watch these videos are those who still play at 1080p. Those who play at 4K don't give a damn about the fastest processor in the world, because they know that generally the bottleneck at 4K is still the graphics card.
So uses around 10 - 30% more power for only 1 - 5% more frames. And costs around $120 from the K model. A fool and his money are soon departed as they say?

210 watt in starfield omg O_O top pc doesn't even produce 100 fps in 1080p in Hogwarts
Make please 13600k vs 14900KS
There's something wrong with Starfield and Warzone's 1% results. Nothing in the hardware differences between these two processors justifies such a discrepancy in results.
Intel seriously lacks imagination! Let's see how they're going to do with their new 'Ultra Core' Processors.
EXTRA $150 price hike for 1 to 4 fps increase. Maybe I'm not busniess savvy enough to understand the logic behind this.
i5 14600 vs i5 14600k when ?
14900KS uses much more power consumption to attain barely noticeable higher FPS. Strange, considering it's suppose to be much better silicon. I could justify buying it, if it reached these results with the same power consumption as the 14900K.
These KS CPUs are not for gaming actually. They have twice more benchmarks than the 7800X3D or 15-20% more than the 7950X. That is for video editing or other heavy tasks. But at gaming could not be the best.
the ks has 0! use case hahaha, 3-5% faster even in rendering isnt worth the 20% power increase and 150 bucks more cost. waste of sand
