thank you, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the video that shows exactly what they mean when they say to "paint your first color over the painters tape" to get that crisp line. I've read it a million times on blogs, and I never quite was able to visualize WHAT THE HECK that truly meant! Wonderful!!!! And holy cow, what a crisp line!!!!! And also, A HEAT GUN!?!?!!? Mind blown. Without fail, I LOATHE painters tape b/c no matter what it ALWAYS pulls up some of my newly painted finish. UGH. This. is. amazing.
The main problem with not getting the tops to be the same size, could be not taking into consideration the "width" of your blade, then also where you run the blade along your measured line. IE: cutting on either side of the line or down the middle can be the difference of getting that measurement right. For getting the screws right and keep them from "breaking through" your wood top maybe look into using the Kreg Jig. I totally agree with your comments on the difference between artistic painting and classic. And finally thanks for the tip on the adding heat to tape! Love tips like that. great job on these!
It’s really refreshing seeing a video where they show their mistakes! Sometimes when I’m learning I watch people’s videos and feel like I’m so dumb as they don’t show their mistakes lol.
OUCH! Glad you weren't hurt badly. What a beautiful makeover and the Wood U Bend looks stunning! I really appreciate the tip for removing dried painter's tape and the paint over the tape too. I don't have a router but that's a nice touch for them to match. Great video! How will you price these? considering all the time and injuries you endured?
I hate jigsaws and circular saws lol I feel like I’m in a cheesy comedy or cartoon, no matter how tightly I grip it, it does what it wants. So I bought a Dremel Moto-saw, it’s a combination scroll saw and coping saw, it can be clamped to a table or used handheld. It’s pretty awesome for small projects. For the top of the desk, I would use a table saw lol I’m more comfortable with cutting things on tables where I have the control. Make sure you’re using the correct blades and speed settings. I learned through unnecessary trial and error that the manufacturers put that info on the packaging for a reason 😅🤦🏼♀️ and I always look for power tools at garage sales or estate sales, especially now with the cost of everything skyrocketing. Love your work and videos!
You just gave me a good laugh with your cheesy comedy or cartoon. My sister and I always feel we are a comedy act when we try new tools or go to Home Depot..lol. I have a Dremel tool which is awesome so I'll check out the Dremel Moto-Saw. And I think a table saw would be easier as well. A brilliant tip for finding new-to-you tools!
Those are hands down some of the most beautiful nightstands I've ever seen!
Amazing! And yes, modern clean look requires more work

Thanks Linda! 🤗 I have an inexpensive Canadian tire Mastercraft jigsaw which isn’t the best but the Bosch router is awesome!👍

I'll price them between $350-$375 for the set. They are nice and compact so perfect for a small apartment space and small footprint! 😊

What kind of wood and dimensions did you use for the top? How thick is it?
