Just a quick QOL tip for anyone else new and watching this, when you reach the town where your desired wanderer is chilling, you can just tap the tavern tab, and then the wanderers portrait at the top of the interface allowing you to speak to them without manually entering the tavern. (The same works when accepting quests etc)
Nothing major but saves a little time.
Nice one dude, just got it on console. However, my sibling has just come of age and i can't find her anywhere. She's never where the encyclopedia says she is. Any tips?
@@joshuaperry7199 check your clan tab bro, there's a family tab which is where you'll find your siblings. You can call them to your party from there also.
Obvious but maybe not for all. Lol. Good on your for Sharing this info because this game can be extremely overwhelming if you don't know what's what.
@@rellik8killer for sure man, this game just seems to drop you in on the assumption you already know what you're doing. Still learning new things myself and I've been playing regularly since launch for console.
Was just about to say the same thing, much quicker than finding them in a crowded tavern.
Scouting is hands down more important than trading when forming a caravan. Keeping your parties alive and making small amounts of Passive money > constantly paying 15K to reset
Just so you understand, scouting levels up 10x as fast as trading so it's actually better to have somebody with a higher trade initially to generate more income. That's what I found in testing both anywsy
Early game -
1) if you join a kingdom, no amount of riding/scouting/tactics/etc. will save your caravan if they get attacked by an enemy party. They have 50-100+ troops, your caravan of 30 will not survive (I have tested with god like caravan leaders (375+ in all skills and they still get captured).
2) you don't join a kingdom and your caravans are free to roam. Bandits and looters can be an issue if you are unlucky. But I've used crappy caravan leaders (2 in social, and 1 point in trade, 2 in cunning and 1 in scouting), and they lasted until I joined a kingdom.
All people really need to know is your caravan leader will gain lots of scouting, some trade, and little riding/athletics skill. You decide from there. Trade skills gives a "little" more profit ( depending on any big difference).
Mid/Late game: good luck. Only the luckiest will survive. Be prepared for your caravans to get captured.
@@tdotfun that's what I've found as well. Caravans become useless mid to late game once you start getting involved in wars. I wish they would have caravan AI avoid passing through enemy regions. Why would your caravan leader decide to make a death run through enemy territory? Maybe a mod will do this.
@@Fordragon how does one make money mid/late game? Like, workshops are not usually good, and if caravans are just messed up, then are you forced to join a kingdom or something?
@@Gamerguy_69420 it becomes a balancing act. Have a few towns for tax income. Have a big enough garrison for a decent security rating but don't get carried away or it eats up your tax revenue. Have some workshops to pad the pocketbook. They aren't great, but can net you a few hundred each, so it helps. Even so, my game always reaches a point where I need to be in constant war to not have a budget deficit. War is super profitable for several reasons, and there are perks to make wars even more lucrative. Then there's cheesing the smithing mechanic. There are plenty of guides on that.
I bought this game on release for the Xbox but quickly felt overwhelmed and did not spend more than an hour before quitting. Since watching these videos this game has become one my favourite games of the last few years. Thanks for taking the time to put them together they are fantastic.
Dude I’m the same I hated it at the start now I love it
Same but soo far I have been slowly grinding by raiding bandit hideouts, finding looters, best quest to do is caravan escort and caravan ambush quest along with poacher quests!! Sitting at 78k with a 115 army! Just keep going my man
Got over the overwhelming stage of warband and played that game for years, still managed to find it a struggle when starting this one so trust me, even returning players have this issue 😂🤦♂️
Have 50k dinars. Create 22k caravan. Get 500 daily income. 4 days later kingdom declare war. Caravan gone 👍
I’m really happy to see you making bannerlord content. I’ve always appreciated the elder scrolls stuff you made and this is like a dream come true!
Yesss, I just clicked on the video didn't see who it was from and I was like...why does this voice sound so familiar... and it said eso.. I was like ahhhhh shit!!!! This dude rocks
Really cool to see some Bannerlord content! When I was big into Skyrim and well, ESO (lol) I absolutely loved your videos! So many of your guides helped me out then, so it's nice to see you on my feed again. :)
All the videos I’ve Ben looking at this is the most detailed and not rushed thank you man
Very good indeed
He definitely makes some quality guides... however, if you want the most detailed and analytical guides, then STRAT GAMING is your best bet.
Just for clarification, I've found there to be at least 4 UA-camrs who regularly make good video-guides for Bannerlord. There are a few others I watch on occasion as well.
Thank you ESO for playing Bannerlord. Now i frequent your channels and get to hear you again!
So I'd prioritize higher scouting over trade when picking the companion for the caravan, it lessens the chance of them being caught from the get go thus allowing your caravan to continue and boost its trade skill without interruption. Also being a merc is beneficial if you don't have that negotiation perk, it affords you the ability to leave the kingdom without ramifications and effectively make peace yourself should a war breakout and your caravans are at risk. Another thing to note is with high scouting you wont need to invest in that up armored caravan, since their engagement chance is dramatically lessened thus saving you some startup costs, playing as a Aserai also makes it a fraction of the cost.
Love your content. This has helped my current play through and it has been glorious!
Used to watch all the Skyrim videos back in the day just picked this game up a few days ago it made me so happy to see you making vids on this game🙏🏾😂
ESO!! Love these videos! Lots of good, concise info! And you're funny!! Keep it up
Had to pause my fallout 4 to cook and watch this. Thanks for all the hard work and content you give for our entertainment
Sounds like a great weekend so far!
Never take nomadic traditions over fill to brim, they hardly ever get horses enough to even get .1 more speed but the fill to brim perk gives bout 10% better deal on on buying and selling all horses
75 trade "local connection" is more important since horses count as animals and your caravans deal with them a lot.
With insurance plans you get the 5K back even if you disband the caravan. Scouting is a trap most people don't realize that your caravans hardly ever avoid enemies as TW hasn't coded them properly
Another great episode! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for all the hard work you put into these videos, its appreciated!
Glad you enjoy them!
Good work as always boss 🙏🏾
Thanks for the great and hard work - and great guide as well. Enjoy your weekend Danny!
One thing I find helpful is to put a star on them in the Encyclopedia since it can take some time to round them up, and that makes it easier to keep track of the ones to hire.
Man this is good content on this game thank you so much
Very useful video thanks very much
great tips, enjoying the game, when I created my first caravan, I found out that my brother in campaign has excellent skills for that
I did the same thing! Most would make the brother a quarter master but I didn’t want to rely on him for that job in case he got captured. He makes a ton of money with the caravan!
Great video! Love your content🎉🎉🎉
One of the best game guide youtuber not only in Mount And Blade but also on youtube
So just a heads up, the names and look of the wanderers are random each game but the skills are tied to the name, so a spice or swift is always a good caravan regardless of the faction they are from
ESO, Thank you for this work and information, I've been watching you since your excitement about Kingdom Come: Deliverance made me find the channel. NOW I KNOW HOW CARAVANS WORK I WILL TAKE OVER CALRADIA
So the best people to acquire have “The Swift” and “The Spicevendor” don’t worry about scouting too much as they will go up around 5-10 per day going around the map
10:34 "Six hundred and sixty nine"
Bro couldn't resist
2:07 you should also be able to press the arrow next to age to change it so it goes to youngest then older.
Playing in bannerlord difficulty and only having 1 save slot option, i found out the hard way(became the bandits bitch for too long in early game) , that the best way to grow was doing tournaments. You get high tier gear and mounts, plus there is a perk to double clan points.
Also, since you cant ride those mounts yet, because at start your riding is low, you can sell them between 7k to 17k depending on the mount.
Another thing you can do is getting married. Helps because the spouse comes with high tier gear. Buuuut, dont strip her naked if not for making babies, if she has good fighting skills and is in your party, also your companions, they participate in the tournament as well, so you increase the chances one of you wins the item.
At start was the wife who won me several tournaments. Silvind god saved my character from poverty.
Caravan guard aren't infantry, they're cavalry. Mounted infantry means having infantry (say imperial legionary) with a speed type horse in your inventory, which makes the game count that guy as riding whilst your party moves.
Comment for the algorithm. Ty for the video!
Great guide!
This game is awesome! Since I can't find a C&C red alert or dune game for my PS4 5 Banner Lord takes the pie. AND TO Sir, Great job. 😎
Love this perk. Thanks ESO.
Same. I really wish I could become a supporter. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to afford to.
Battle brothers
No problem!

12:36 Annual profit is actually around 21,000. Bannerlord years are 4 months long, and each month is 21 days.
Just a nitpick, great video!!
Bro you have the Best RPG game videos On The Planet 🙌🔥
Great help many thanks
The 1st year of your caravan is pretty important as far as early game income. I think that extra protection is worth the extra cash for better guard .
The tracking location thing just blew my frigging mind
Dang, seeing this guide video makes me think how complex the AI could be.... I mean, the trade aspect itself needs so much to think about like how the AI buy/takes and sells goods, the price management of the AI, and what the trade skill level affects in trading.
Not to mention how they manage the trade rumours (Best city to trade) which you can ask for yourself when talking to them, and the power calculating system when travelling (Which they use either to avoid or engage another party).
Thnx for great info
also u could go to wiki page with companion suffixes and get right suffix with skills u want, so u don't have to "scroll them down" =)
Another good way to make money is to capture lords your at war with and sell them and the other prisoners you capture! Also you will loot quite good amounts of high value items when defeating them so sell those aswell between the selling the prisoners and selling the items you can make a good 10k each time
Great video. FYi there's no link to your Workshop guide in the description.
What I did to choose my companions that did caravans were I chose the ones that had good trading skills there’s like 4 or 5 in total I chose them and made them have a party and I went to war with them leveled up a bunch of different perks and gave them armor for free cause it was loot and they usually are able to hold their own when they go caravaning
I am 100 plus hours in. Mid campaign and just learned you can spec out your companions and family with perk points 😂😂😂 that will change everything. Thanks ESO.
What I did to make loads of money was:
- ignore the complex economy system,
-go to war,
-capture many lords,
-take them to a town I own and ransom them at the tavern,
-then take them out of the prison and ransom them again over and over until I have millions of denars.
Such a good exploit.
Can someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure there’s two perks that allow you to collect renown off of caravans, so can’t you double it up and get 10 renown a day?
so would it matter what city/empire you start your Caravan from or just any of them? would starting one with one faction increase your reputation with them or it dosent matter?
Holy fuck never knew previous page allowed you to page through like that always thought it just took you back to the list screen lol
Hey chef u played the 1st one who's the big Unga bunga berserker boi at? Or tall troops in general lmao? Besides mounted troops
Great vids
So about the caravan with skills to avoid combat, is good. Also I found out, having a slow companion , but well equipped for combat, helps improve his skills when in combat… I kinda use this to not only farm their skills they receive for trading, but combat as well for future events.
Also works a lot better when not in any wars, they just get attacked by bandits, which they always beat if your well equipped
im definatly gonna buy this game if it goes on sale soon
well did you get it?
Scouting is far better than trade skills. As with strong scouting they never die the trade goes up over time.
thats actually smart, gotta try investing in scouting then
How do you manage the inventory of others, like family and companions? I have just started playing this game with the latest version. Unfortunately, I can only manage my own character inventory. Please help me out. Thanks.
Think ahead too. Use caravans to level trade for future governors
Still saving up to get the game on xbox. I hope these tips are useful and the game on console is up-to-date
Console and pc are on the same patch I think
Console and PC are on the same patch, theres literally no difference between PC and console versions.
@@user-vp8mu5fj7o cool
How often do more heroes appear? In my game theres none with a good combination of traits
Nice vid!
Just what I'm playing right now - Aserai trader, with 9 caravans- no kingdom. I have ~6.3mil banked and trying to get to 300 trade (at ~285).
In your skill portion, you started switching your comments from what perks your caravan leader should have to what I (clan leader) could take - think it started at higher level trade perks. I'm guessing, you thought that my caravans wouldn't get that high (true for companions). However, I start my family as caravan so they have 8-10 social and 5 points in trade, so they are reaching the max; and sometimes couldn't decide what's the best.
4:12 Is that a fellow clan member in the list of Heroes? Iara of the Battle Brothers?? 😅
? Is the prisoners more than what u lose on NOT 100% loot on the base attacks?
Great Video! Thanks ESO👍🏻
Trader lvl 300 is overpowered. You can literally buy land and no one will ever attack you if you are not a vassal or create a kingdom. But it's a grind to get it to 300. It basically turns the game into a caravan simulator.
Heard its fucked now could try and trade 4 towns and a castle and they still wouldn't swap for one.
Is there a setting I need to turn on to be Abel to customize my brother stats Bec he came pre made
man these videos could be 10 minutes shorter but still good
My caravan do a first caravan 2000 , second 1042,and third close 900-1100. Per day,u need a 160 and more trader perk
When ur caravan gets attacked do you then loose it? I now can’t see my caravan on the map
So you don't need a workshop first? What so you transport then?
Pro Tip (for anyone watching this recently like me):
They changed companions in this game at some point because you can no longer choose all of their "stats/perks" starting from 0. They instead will be auto chosen based on how old they are and how much they've done.
You can Reset their Perks at the Arena for some gold.
@@xLionsxxSmithyx 250 hours and somehow I didn't know this. THANK YOU!
@@chrishaugh1655 I only found out yesterday myself when I went to the arena, it's something like 6k gold to reset.
Just click on the portrait quicker than going to tavern or town etc
I'm having problems with my encyclopaedia. Unless i've met the person their skills won't show up. Do I have to add a mod or something for all the available wanderers to have their skills revealed at the start of the game? If i haven't met them theirstats are just greyed out and their skills are just "???"
This is normal, Last version of bannerlord it like that
Do archers count towards infantry in the forest kin perk or is it just melee units?
Hover your mouse over your party and hold alt, it'll give your party breakdown by troop types (inf, cav, arch, cav arch). The game treats infantry as only melee or melee+throwing troops, they are archers if they have a bow or xbow.
One other reason to get perks that increase your speed during the day is because you daytime speed is much faster, the % increase will be greater, giving you an overall better bonus.
So you have to meet each individual character before you can see their stats? In my codex they all say ??? Except the few I’ve met. What gives?
Hello, can you tell me why they don't give me every castle that I conquer, I only have five castles
Ahhhh shit!!! Right so ive been waiting for my sibling to come of age as i had been following your instructions on the best stats for a caravan. I got her all prepared but I couldn't find her anywhere as she was never in the place where the encyclopedia said she was. Getting frustrated as i thought it was a bug i ended up marrying her off as i thought my efforts were wasted. . . . So all I had to do was press recall? . . .
Yes. Recall her to party. Never Marry off female family members. Only male or you lose the family member in your clan.
@@rellik8killer noted, cheers buddy. Ive learned for next time when i play as the Sturgians.
I didn't know that the better caravans were not worth it, ill stop buying them, i guess that the only time you would want to buy it is if your at war with several factions and you need them to survive for a bit
Soo on my encyclopedia is says I havent met them yet.. kind of makes it hard to find them if I dont know where they are.. am I supposed to travel the world first?
It should still tell you where they were last seen
What to do if i don’t habe a single character with trading skills?😢
how are you supposed to level up perks if your companions in caravans dont level up??
I wish I knew this before forming 5 caravans with poorly skilled companions 😂
If you were my teacher in highschool, I wouldve been Valedictorian.
your party wages at 117 means you have almost no men with you. can i infer that you are also not acting as a mercenary while being caravan master, to avoid hostile lands for the trade?
I feel like this more towards a mercenary/trader play through. You can make just as much money owning towns and castles on a commander/lord type play through. I learned the hardway not to just get followers for caravanning if you want to use them as Governors. The culture thing is a bitch with loyalty.
Caravan ai should really avoid crossing/entering enemy territory.
yeah ai is still kinda dumb, either they keep running away leading you to also make no money cuz they never sell anything, or they lose to some searaiders lol
I have so many fiefs and castles to where i cant see my income anymore... some how im losing 50k a day and i cant fix it because i cant see all of my profits and losses
ESO making bannerlord videos. Nice 👍🏽
I do too ;)
19:28 FOR YOUR CARAVANS? Does Silver Tongue anything useful for a caravan really? I mean, caravans aren’t using such an ability, are they?
I did all this, found a really great companion, and no more then 3 days he was captured, can I rescue my companion at least?
Is it worth to become a lord while having caravans travelling to possible ennemies territory?
I have a question as to the Champion's Crudgel (the Chaos weapon). Did the weapon get changed in the Anniversary edition? I did the mission but the weapon does not have a chaos enchantment. Instead it has a non-deenchatable spell that: reads: "Target takes 15 points of damage. Damage type varies depending on time of day. Each type has 1% chance to deal damage at any time of day." Did a mod change this weapon, or did Bethesda rid the game of chaos weapons and enchantment? Did a different weapon get that enchantment? Is this weapon level dependent? Your previous video said you could obtain this weapon at level 1. Im level 52, and this weapon (Champion's Crudgel) is not chaos enchanted. Thank you
Most of the time my caravan is doing 0 profit or sometimes 40, why is that so?
what if they have high athletics and I dont give them a hors?
I use caravans to level up my family members’ trade skill so I can later use them as governors.
yess thats smart, or having them as independent generals is also useful
It's was 696 not 669 on your 3rd caravan after a month lol I do that all the time when reading number I do construction so I always have to triple check myself 😂
I need help I looked in my game no companion with trade skills
I think the Caravan leader should be from Aserai and that would bring more profit
Im trying to figure out how im negative money a day, yet I dont have but 20 troops that arent even upgrade. Meanwhile i own a tanner and velvet
