I too love this game. I think it will dominate my Quest Game Time. Minecraft had shitty graphics this game reminds me of that - SUPER fun game. Don’t mind the thumbstick, (I can’t imagine the strain of arms, holding hands in air for hours) and the *faulty alignment* when steering due to not really having anything hold on to (Still I I hope they add air steering for these kinds of players) FOR ME THOUGH… I wish they add (Physical Steering Wheel Support) like Logitech steering wheel and the other top brands. All in all, loving the story, team building and the races… magnificent!
Honestly I'm not at all worried about the graphics, they look fine to me! But definitely looks like it could be a lot of fun, you certainly looked to be enjoying it 👍
Traditional bollocks. Since the 80's and 90's racing games offer the opportunity to pit your skills against a consistent track and ai. It's up to you to get better. If this game delivers on that, then that's still an opportunity to stick many hours in to it. Still looks like it sucks compared to racers on my PC VR setup, but the core grind and skill seems like it is in place, so surely a win for mobile VR?
I've not done anything, but I agree with you, the footage does look sharper. I can only assume it's down to how our eyes process the 3D effect with the lenses etc
I bought this game last Thursday and I am absolutely loving it. It's the first time in years that I've continually flattened my battery playing. I've already logged about fifteen hours on it, and can't keep off it. The roster of cars is fantastic, with some true motorsport legends. They all feel different and nuanced. Huge amount of tracks and challenges. Graphic options are now a thing and I honestly have no issue with how it looks. It's fast and really fluid.
It seems to be an issue with other version of GRID Legends also and EA are aware and looking into getting it fixed... No other news than that though sorry
@@GameOnScorpio thanks… thought was just me. I see vids if people playing online… and thought how come some can play online and others can’t. But maybe them vids are recorded from before the online problems
@@bloodangelz Yes more than likely. As far as I'm aware, this has been an issue since last week. I hope the fix it soon as I want to race online again too!
I’m not too sure about it I mean I can probably over look the graphics but it’s the steering idk about, but I know your a big racing fan and the content is good for that
I think if they concentrated on upping the texture of the track and sacrificed the buildings, etc detail it would be a great step. Also, if they just took the location of the two controllers to figure out the angle the hands are at and used that to simulate the wheel angle instead of using thumbsticks, it would be an instant buy.
Me too, I gave it 5 stars easy. MK1 Racing is worth a shot on Side Quest if a person NEEDS to steer with a steering wheel. The graphics are sharper, but the depth isn't there.
Iam enjoying playing it not too botherd with how it looks.i think they would have been better porting grid auto sport from the switch would have probably looked a lot better
Grid legends for the Quest is a literal skid mark on the metaphorical clean white pants of VR. Absolutely half arsed, lazy, unoptimised mess and no excuses should be made for it.
Thanks! Yea the game is getting a lot of hate and I think it's purely because of the graphics. People are saying it's not, that it's also because there isn't immersion or VR interaction... But when GT7 gets it's VR support, something tells me you wont be able to touch stuff in the car or have a garage to walk around. It will be controller and wheel support, but with pretty graphics
The original steam game did not get very good rating. This is a MUCH more ugly version of the original game. EA sports used to be a very good company 20 years ago. But not any more. And that childish cheap Quest 2 sucks. LOL
Its not just the graphics. The controll of it with Quest controller and no wheel grab, is a massive No no for me. Even V Speedway has virtual grab controll and its FREE!
graphics look too good, actually. It would be better with lower detailed graphics and higher resolution. (EDIT. I typed too soon. You just made the point of lowering environment details.)
@@nemesis5289 Would be nice but I don't think it's that easy. The Quest 2 would have to be able to understand the hardware which means there would need to be driver support for each of the wheels... Sadly, I don't see Meta doing this sort of thing for the Quest 2... maybe a future headset...
So there was an update a while ago which gives players the options to change the resolution and refresh rate if memory serves... It can make the game look better for sure, but you can also break the game if you crank everything up. Not sure if there's been another update since though.
I believe those who say they like this ugly game must be a Meta troll. It is PS2 graphics. Have you played the original 2D game? And it is not even a new game. It is an OLD arcade game, not even a sim racing game. LOL
Well there was an update the other day... not sure what it was or for though. Regardless they game would automatically get a small upgrade (resolution) due to running on a Quest 3
Cheers. I'd like to think/hope that the developers will improve the game with updates... but it's EA calling the shots, so I doubt it sadly... Only time will tell!
@@MarquisDeSang yep I can see from your video you have an ace setup. I also understand that to get a game on the native quest store it will be hardware bound. Onward was the same, quest version looks alot worse than the PC version, however if the game has great immersion and no stuttering it will be an enjoyable experience. If a PCVR version and looks better than I would change my opinion. For the moment I will stick with project cars and AC.
@@lemmy069gameclips9 My only concern with PCVR is that some track on all the major sim : r-factor2, pc2, automobilista2, iracing have some corners that will stutter, the experience is not greate because I will often loose all my steering wheel settings and the game will start wihtout sound, requirering many reboot. My best VR racing experiences were Drive Club VR on PSVR and Grid VR on Quest. Not saying that PC is bad, but the overall experience is unstable. Every months when I want to race on PCVR, it would take me 3 hours to get all thigns runnig at once. 3 hours of work before being able to race. If only Quest 2 would support physical wheel... I am sure PSVR2 with (a shitt sim-cade like GT), will be a better experience than anything ever made on PCVR.
@@MarquisDeSang absolutely feel the pain of control setup; on AC i had to use a controller emulator to make my PC think i was using a xbox 360 controller rather than my hori apex wheel lol. for someone who was new to PC stuff i found it very off putting

It is fun (to me anyway), but for some people that isn't enough. Codemasters and EA could have done a LOT better which is a shame
It is not just poor graphics, but motion sickness. Have you tried Void Racer before? That game is ugly and gives me a ton of motion sickness.
I honestly don’t mind the graphics. I really really really hope they will add motion controls in the future.
I hope so too, because I know someone that would make an accessory for just that!
Fingers crossed that the game does receive updates

Exactly! Yes it's ugly (and I mean really really ugly) but for Quest owners to finally have a proper racing game is something at least!
Why does your game look so much better than mine? Did you increase the resolution with sidequest?
