it's neat. After about 40 mins my arms were feeling like jelly holding a virtual wheel in the air, but it handles far better than I was expecting - though I bet it would break apart trying to drive the faster cars in GL. Graphics have all the finesse lacking from GL: metal gloss, asphalt shine, normal mapping in rocks, actual 3D trees, smoke and tire trails and even projected shadows! Plus very crisp screen and texture resolution. But is that better graphics? You have less geometric detail than in GL: just 8 racers on track rather than 22, cockpit in car is far less details, no buttons, switches, door handles, far less curved, etc, track detail and world is also sparse detail, no audiences, no flags, not long tracks with scenery variation. They're really not comparable. GL looks awful during daytime, but by evening and night with light and shadows in high contrast pronounced and baked into the textures, it actually looks pretty great. Great for an indie, but this won't replace GL for motorsports enthusiasts at all. Plus, no big licenses, no awesome music, polished interface and all production values you only get from AAA games.
Bought driven a few months ago and it's more a proof of concept than a full fledged game like GRID, its IQ is cleaner of course but graphic complexity is not on par with GRID. And while it's nice to virtually hold and steer a wheel in VR, it's too exhausting for long sessions. i'm waiting for Downtown club which i hope will be a VR Ridge Racer.
There is nothimg better then GL on Quest. The game play and the race tracks bet some of the pc racers. Nintendo Switch is the best selling console of 2022. Portable games is what people want. GL will be on the top seller list on quest next month.
WelI, I would be curious to know how many people return the game vs how many keep it. I think a lot of folks will not give the game a chance because once it boots up they'll be looking for a refund. The game is definitely growing on me as the racing is actually pretty good in it.
The graphics are just ridicolously bad. And that's considering I had a PSVR and Drive Club. That was ugly too, but not like Grid. Grid sets the standard for bad visuals in the last 15 years.
@@bmx7596 I agree. Drive club on psvr was very blurry but it had a lot more content than gran turismo sport. I think GL has the most content than 99% of quest games.
unfortunately, it's been review bombed into oblivion and very rarely people give a chance to games with bad scores. Achievements tell it was played by some 11k players, and a few more advanced achievements go down to about 1k players who actually enjoyed it and kept playing - heck, I unlocked the wonderful Shelby Cobra and only about 7 players are recorded in the achievement. Unlikely EA will give any other 2 fucks for such a sad audience.
I checked out the free demo for Driven. Definitely seems arcady and streamlined, but I could see myself jumping into the inexpensive paid version. The developer needs to add VR comfort options for sure. If you're used to VR it will most likely be fine, but some users are going to get VR sick and leave a bad rating. Both motion and analog stick options should be the baseline for VR racing games. You will feel fatigue through your arms, but you can improve your stamina each session.
hey what do you think? lately the developers have made the game more arcade, rather just flatter, they have removed the barrels and simplified the physics and collisions too much, do you still like it?
I didn't put in enough time before the latest updates that changed the physics to compare the two but I have no problems with it at all and many people have said it was and improvement. I think because people were slower after the update they equaled that to not being good but making cars just drive faster doesn't equal more realistic physics either.
Driven just receives a meta quest 3 update graphic. I never payed that game but with the graphic update for quest 3 I think it may be the racing game to buy?!
Game with good graphics but shallow content : "vr games are just tech demos :(" Full AAA game with compromised graphic : "Ugly!!!" It's a freaking $300 console with mobile chip.. Get over it.. BTW I prefer driving with joystick than motion control.. Who wants to hang their arms in the air for 30 mins????
The game's graphics are being compared to other Quest 2 games, not PCVR games on an RTX 4090. They are well below the standard for Quest 2 games. Original Quest games didn't even look this bad.
I ended up buying this. Honestly pretty great; the handling is less streamlined than I thought, and the progress is very smooth and not a grind of repeated races for currency like I had initially judged it. Great package already.
If you only have quest. Grid is a must get. Graphics or not. It feels so cool
My thoughts were it is a very solid foundation to build off basically, one to keep a eye on as it develops
Yup. Hopefully the dev continues to develop it.

Yes, night races look much better because they can literally get rid of everything around the track. 😁
Turn off the cornering line and the driver names. It makes the game look better.

@@thecasualracinggamer people said NFL pro era was garbage the first few weeks. It is now one of the top sellers on quest.

Yeah, I can see this one making people sick.
I can take bad graphics, but Gird Legends is so bad it's beyond distracting. It ruins an otherwise good game.
Yes, the graphics are that bad unfortunately. It is a great game though.
This makes me even more hyped for GT7 😂

Alguém já tentou conectar um volante USB via OTG no quest pra ver se funciona assim como acontece no Android?
não, mas agora com controles tilt tenho jogado com as mãos segurando um "volante"

Agree!
Surely it's pronounced driven, like I had driven to the shops.
Not dry ven
Grid legends is horrendous 😂
