2020 here. Used to listen to this song in high school 15 years ago, had the album, and if you're an OG you know that after the album was over, you had to rewind to hear the secret track. Listened to this so many nights on the floor, just staring at the ceiling.
@@Prof.PwnalotIf you think the numbers they have after over 15 years of music are good, you're insane. Thinking this comment is stupid when it's entirely true is stupid.
Another great album that'll never get the recognition it deserves. A coworker introduced me to them back in 2005. It was profound then now that I'm 36 I appreciate it much more.
Just bought tickets to see them in a couple of weeks. I haven't been this excited since I got married... this album got me through some dark a$$ times, I can't even express how excited and grateful I am to see Armor for Sleep
I miss this shit so much. 2023 and all the shit you've helped me through. Random CD i bought at target years and years ago.. Thank you for existing. I'm here because of you.
I was in a shoegaze band in 2010/11 and we used to throw in an armor for sleep cover every show and people always were like “I loved that last song you played” and I was like “well do I have an album for you..” They were so underrated.
I remember getting What To Do When You Are Dead when I was 12 back in 05'. Still one of my favorites of all time and had this song (as well as the album) on repeat in my teenage years, hell I even covered this with one of my old bands. Miss this era of jams
I toured with these dudes back in the early 00’s. My band was called PARK. Just showed my girl this video. Anthony was super cool letting me use his SVT at a show. My head went to shit. Bought an SVT classic after that and still have it. Haven’t used it in well over a decade. Sucks, I’m 40 now. Was a cool time to play and be free though. We toured with a ton of cool and awesome bands around that time.
I absolutely loved your band, you had a song on a mixture CD called David vs. Goliath. I cannot for the life of me find it but it was one of my favorite songs of all time… I just remember the lyrics being about “all the change being lost in the couch cushions” or some thing. Help me out here because I really need to hear this song. Thank you for all of your work both your full length albums were incredible!! 💪💪💪
I opened a show for Ben's solo project years ago in Melbourne back when my band was together. He was so kind and grateful for my being a passionate fan of armor music. He listened to my band's whole album too! Great memories
I literally listened to hundreds of bands back in high school 10 years ago and armor for sleep stood out for me for having genuine, great sound instrumental and in voice and original lyrics not found anywhere else. GREAT MUSIC!
+Andres Marrero Yes all their songs are literally about death, at least on this album. But I still loved it anyway and played it nonstop in my bedroom back in high school.
I remember when I first found this band, I got a stack of cards that were a code for a free song and each card was a different song but this one was by far the best of the stack. I fell in love with armor for sleep after that. Still have the cd case of this album with the booklet of what to do when you are dead. Love it, straight classic
The bass that comes in at 0:32 is amazing. Seriously, if you've only listened to this through your phone, get a nice pair of headphones or a speaker system with a nice bass and crank it! It's killer
So you latched onto bad music and never stopped listening. Your WHOLE LIFE?! In the immortal words of a REAL emo band, Embrace, "You should be ashamed!" This song has much meaning to me now then it did when I originally loved it. I’m 31 now and life hits in strange ways. In an era of finding more and more cars underwater and watching them come out with people’s loved ones you think of the song a bit more literally and it truly has great lyrics
Thursday was my stopping point with "emo" total package . No matching haircuts and aggressive roots but I'm a bitter 32 old and I now get this band. Too polished for me back then. I would put Funeral For A Friend above some of these bands from the emo revival era. I get it. Cool song!
these guys were my last show before last train at camden warped tour in 2006 or 2007 and i didnt even know who they were until he opened his mouth and started singing... i still to this day come back listening to this song.

Believe the news, I'm gone for good
Call off the search, no one will know that I'm down here
Believe the note, I left for you
You can't turn back the clocks
You can't pull me up from here, so don't try
I'm in a car underwater with time to kill
Thinking back I forgot to tell you this:
I didn't care that you left and abandoned me,
What hurts more is I would still die for you
I'm in a car underwater with time to kill
Thinking back I forgot to tell you this:
I didn't care that you left and abandoned me,
What hurts more is I would still die for you
Make time slower
Give me longer
It's too late for me
No one will know that I'm down here
Believe your dreams of me sinking
So far below
You can't pull me up from here, so don't try
I'm in a car underwater with time to kill
Thinking back I forgot to tell you this
I didn't care that you left and abandoned me
What hurts more is I would still die for you, I'm in a car underwater with time to kill
Thinking back I forgot to tell you this
I didn't care that you left and abandoned me
What hurts more is I would still die for you
Leave it up to me
To burn in you again
This one's not your fault
Please forgive me
Leave it up to me
To burning you again
This one's not your fault
Please forgive me
Leave it up to me
To burning you again
This one's not your fault
So forget, so forget, so forget me
And don't think back, don't think back on me at all
Just let me go
Don't think back, don't think back on me at all
Just let me go
Don't think back, don't think back on me at all
(Let me go)
Don't think back, don't think back on me at all
