My indy's top bushings did that straight away as well, the bottom edge of the top washer is really sharp and it just cuts straight into the bushing under any kind of load, It's worth a look. I just rounded the sharp edge off.
I’ve been a stay at home dad during the day for years now while she works, then I usually go work nights and squeeze in some skating when I can. She’s definitely a champion for doing bedtime with two little monkeys.
@@dadboard nailing it. It's so important to find a way to balance it all and still keep your own thing going, before you know it, you can lose track of yourself really quickly with kids.
I finally understand why they’re called “slappys”. I’ve been having trouble with basic bs noseslides for a long time because I would always cautiously guide the nose into the curve or little ledge. It hardly ever slides…. Then one day I decide to just bash my nose and it slid and slid a lot more. Now I slide every single time and it’s becoming easier so that I am now learning to rotate away and roll out regular instead of fakie. Feels great to finally have something “click”
I like those raw cuts more than the actual parts sometimes. I like to see the process, unless it’s Ishod or Yuto then it’s really just choosing the cleanest make lol
Well done dude. I'm no expert but been trying these aswell and my mate who is really good at the told me to make sure the back foot a fair way down the board. If he is right or wrong who knows but worth a shot
🔥hell yeOah! Need to give these a try again, but it's one of those tricks like regular backside boardslides for me: I'll be pushing a couple through fine, then without warning I completely slip out onto my ass (or here, my knee/wrist) so I'm a bit apprehensive. I do recall the S carve approach thing being key to get in for me, basically mellowing out the angle right before committing, but using the momentum towards the curb to get that toeside wheel on. Or something, just try to have a plan for when you go to front nose instead lol
Siiiick. I've wanted to learn that trick for a long time now. I've always thought if I could get it going, coming off would be just as easy as backside. . .but I think I just dip out of mine instead of properly popping out. Can't wait to try them again tho.
Bro, wicked! 🔥🙌🏾 A few of my mates are turning in slappy maestros (well, for average old dude skaters) and I'm not keeping up. Def need to put in some curb time and at least get the basic front slappies back...
It’s so fun to just cruise around and slap into grinds, man. A year and a half ago I couldn’t do any slappys other than Bs Noseslides so just put the effort in and you’ll get em 🤝
I love eggs but this trick is way easier for me with a popsicle shape. the bigger nose really helps me get on top and lock. I also learned them to fake first, helped me get comfortable in the grind
Yeah I could see that. This wasn’t even an egg, it’s like an early 90’s shape with hardly any nose. Probably take my regular setup out next time I try one
When you dismount start turning to fs nose slide and then dismount (yeah it sound weird, same as bs crooked you slightly go to noseslide and then dismount). Right now you are trying to dismount like you would do from nosegrinding the ledge and you did it kinda but try the other technique.
For the record, I did vote no on your initial poll. And it wasn't trying to be a jerk. It's just because I know it wasn't the crook you were seeking. The one you came back and got is the real deal and I know how good that feels. I actually hang my toes way over and that helps (me) pinch it down. Sometimes as a warm up, I'll kind of stationary practice putting my lower body into the slappy crip position but keeping my shoulders parallel to my imaginary obstacle. I think you're beyond that point now, but maybe someone reading this could benefit.
I learned these trying to learn slappy front 5050s. I put my foot right in the tip of the nose and carve right into the curb putting my weight onto my heels. Coming out of them is a bitch and I usually just kind of 180 out of them.
yeah for some reason the washers bite into the bushings and frays them like that when you do slappys. mine are allways worn down so much you cant even see them anymore.
@@dadboard they dont really explode like a bottom.bushing does. They just get smaller and smaller. The washer starts digging into the hanger after. Sometimes it bends a little. But never had any issues with it. But i dont even replace the bottom when it blows out. So im the worst example.
Slappy fs crooks are way harder for me than just ollieing to it. I bet you can do a fs crook on a ledge if you play around with it. I just think ollie to a nosegrind but on the toe side wheel, then head over the front toe
@@andrewoneill5879 I was riding 66’s on it but just like an hour ago I swapped back to 55’s funny enough. Can’t decide which one is better for the egg. The 66’s make it really stable and easy to get into grinds but it’s almost too much hanger sometimes
@@dadboard thanks for the reply dude! do the wheels stick out too much with 66? i have 66s that i vibe on but wanted to try those blank decks. didnt know if id need new trucks.
@@dadboard I can see that if the Blazers are anything like the Busenitz Vulcs I’m rocking. I was honestly surprised by the airflow. Similar to what you feel with premium vented motorcycle boots. I guess that’s the technology to expect to perform well from premium skate shoe brands
Lol the Mars landing 🤣💕👍
That over the shoulder look back after he make is the best. Now I'm inspired to start working on these again! Symmetrical crook grooves look 🔥
This channel gets my stoked to go skate even when I'm feeling lazy about doing it lol. Grats on the new trick.

Yeah I can’t fault the trucks too much since I spent a collective 2 hours or more just bashing it into a curb over and over lol
as I was watching this I was thinking 'man, his wife just puts the kids to sleep every night?' and you dropped the shout out lol. love it.

You rule! Much appreciated, dude.
2:55 was solid ! I’d say you got that slappy Nosegrind style
Yeah it was more of a nosegrind, which is also something I wanna learn how to slappy into but idk if I can reproduce it lol
Really good! Well done Sir!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks, man! I need to learn blunts like you!

I was terrified of slipping into noseslide for that reason. I’m traumatized from doing that on back tails now I have a fear of it everytime

It was way harder than coming out BS for me. I kinda just got lucky. I need to learn how to hold them longer and really shift out properly 😅
It’s awkward how excited I was for the land.
Dude I appreciate it! I was so hyped
Your wife is real one, nice catch!
Very true. She’s incredibly supportive of my shenanigans

WE DID IT
And they were most definitely talking about skateboarding
Prodigy had a mean switch tre, in Timbs too
@@dadboard switch tre in the Timbos?! That's crazy. Must have been who taught Antiferg
Bs 180 out is the easy way out 💪🏼
I almost resorted to trying that instead but I wanted one to regs first. I think I wanna learn them to fakie on this bump to curb at my local soon
Best advice on these is roll at it the same angle you want to grind it
💯

Those shoes are so thin and plain I thought you were skating in socks. I was like ok Daewon lol

Copyright cops get you again? Either way shout out momboard 🎉 and you’re ballsy for learning a trick in shorts 😂
Truth be told I _hate_ skating in shorts, but without them I’d last like 20 min in this stupid heat 🥵
Punish that Board....
I refuse to slappy any crooks
when they came in slappyz were out..... yeah I'm old.

You have to lean for that pinch. It does feel wierd huh?
Yeah it’s definitely not a movement I had any reference for. I need to figure them out on ledges now
Woke bushings don’t last 🤣🤣
