People don’t just have moments of weakness. If you cheated on your wife or husband, it shows that they are not your #1. It shows that you care about yourself more than the love and trust you spent years building with your spouse. Of course it’s good he’s working to make things better for the sake of his children. But the fact he cheated in the first place is despicable and unforgivable.
They weren't together at the time. They had broken up and eventually reconciled. After the reconciliation he found out she was pregnant.

Courageous for stating that his wife stuck by him after finding out he fathered a child while they were on a break? Was that admittance that courageous to share? To my view, the only thing Dwayne did was publicly associate the words “stain” and “negative impact” w his son which might b things his son internalizes if he listens to this when older. Even considering the context in which Dwayne was speaking and the controversy under which he was conceived, why express that that’s how you think of him when he was brought into the world? It could b interpreted that way by the boy. Ultimately it doesn’t matter how tf the world views his birth, but his father/parents along w how they speak to him abt his existence. I don’t see what good this interview could cause within their family. If the child is sensitive and grows to b sensitive, I feel bad that he could potentially take this personally
He seems like a good man who made a rash decision and is owning it. I feel for Gabi, the baby and the other kids involved. None of them deserved this painful experience, but they’re all working through it together. Like D. Wade said, none of this is his son’s fault- he didn’t ask to be born. It’s a tough situation indeed.

This happens with men or women. As a man, I was in a relationship a few years ago with a woman who was insecure. But if I'm loyal, being supportive, and then she betrayed me. It knocked the wind out of me. Knowing, I couldn't trust her. Literally. So, I walked away. She tried calling, emailing me, etc. I told her you no longer have space in my life or mind. I cut her off.
I've met plenty of women who truly appreciate a decent man. Same with a decent woman. if you stay in a relationship and do the work. Hopefully, it works out for you both. I look at it like this, it takes a real person to embrace their wrongdoing and change their behavior. If you're forgiven, so be it. If not. Then the party responsible has to accept the consequences. Period!! However, this is a pretty good honest discussion about a difficult situation. I know it has to be hard at times for both he and his wife. 👑🙏🏾💃🏾🌹🖤

This popped up on my feed and it’s wild that I can relate. This is an extremely tough scenario but I respect his perspective and respect the love his has for his son. He understands the child is innocent and didn’t ask to be here but how he came in this world is like a stain on his name because Dwayne made a hasty decision. But the child is completely innocent. It sucks for the child big time and the mom of that child is left with the brunt of it. The things we have to endure as women when it comes to these sorts of circumstances is something just crazy. No one wants their child to be an “outsider” when the man is living his life with their wife and other children he has in the home. At least with Dwayne he has the money and resources to make the situation just a little bit better.

Why does anyone need to see Gabrielle with his youngest son? What is that going to do for anyone? D Wade created that situation and both of them are working through it. Gabrielle doesn't have to take pictures with the son to "prove" she isn't being mean to him or isolating him. And even with D explaining he messed up, somehow it's his wife's fault that it happened. She shared that in looking back she wouldn't had stayed. That whole thing was traumatic but that got through it and continue to show up.
Exactly. That child has a mother and the only people who he needs are his mother and his father, not his father's wife. If I was the mom I would not want my child in the presence of a woman who seems indifferent to him at best.

Men do this and always want forgiveness. They don’t want to even imagine another man sleeping with their partner. Holding them accountable and us as women not allowing them to walk over us makes it harder for things like this to happen
Just to clarify, since you might not be in the know: D-Wade and Gabrielle Union had broken up in early 2013 and started dating again and eventually got engaged in December of that same year. D-Wade slept with and eventually conceived a child with another woman in the interim time between those two events. Ergo, this was not a situation where D-Wade was cheating, but rather, a situation where, after they had parted, he began a new relationship that did not work out and reunited with Gabrielle afterward. Now don't get me wrong, if a man cheats he deserves all the ill will coming to him, but don't put that evil on D-Wade's name when he did nothing wrong.
