true that....well said . I have loved Jon Randall Stewart since he first stepped on stage and opened his mouth with Emmylou Harris and the Nash Ramblers. My oh my....
This cut is an example of "Good stuff in..Good stuff out" You can always count on John Jorgenson to put together a fine band of top drawer musicians and an exquisite show. The band at this juncture had gigged live less than a half dozen times! Absolutely wonderful performance. Please share this video and get the word out.
Agreed! I actually debated whether or not to go see this show - bluegrass not being my favorite genre. In the end I decided it was JJ and that I just had to go. Man was I glad I did! The lesson being it doesn't matter what the genre is. Great musicians make great music regardless. So just Go!!
My introduction to this song was by Brad Paisley. I nearly always like the introductory version best, but this flies in the face of my prejudices. This is a wonderful version.
He's also got his Gypsy Jazz Quintet and toured with Brad Paisley. Oh, and 6+ years was the touring guitarist for another guy you might know - Elton John
That ain't no cover. It's John Randall doing one of his finest. We've got tickets to see these guys in Pagosa Spring, CO this June and I can't wait. Some of the finest voices is music today.
Once read the story behind this song. It was borne out of Jon Randall’s intense depression following the end of his marriage to Lorrie Morgan. The legendary Bill Anderson is the other writer. Mr. Randall is now married to singer Jessi Alexander.
Jon Randall- one of Nashville’s BEST kept secrets, if not the most unsung. Giant talent and as humble as the day is long. Beautiful.

@@emileecline5698 I think that I would love anyone that happened to be on stage with her.
That mandolin solo by JJ was beyond amazing!
Absolutely haunting and beautiful! For me, hands down.....BEST version!

Outstanding, Herb has been adding incredible harmony for decades and obviously still can.
Im gobsmacked, loved that mandolin solo.
I enjoy hearing music like this for l was raised up on it.❤
Saw them sing this at a very small gig in Menai Bridge (north Wales). Probably one of the top five gigs I've been to, and I've seen quite a few.
Absolutely Beautiful Gentlemen.
As good as it gets! Great guys as well!
Damn. Song is so so sad, but so good
Maravillosa interpretación . Gracias , un saludo desde España en cuarentena.
Thanks John, also Herb, Chris and all the people that makes this music so beautiful !! Greetings from the Lowlands !!
Saw them at an intimate gig in n Wales last Sunday - blew away the audience. Best 20 dollars I ever spent. As Darlene says - "This ain't no cover"

@@SchwartzDaddy So he's got the hang of it, you're saying? :)
Can't hid behind much in this band either you can play or not.
True that.
Nice ..

Better than the original
good cover! Love your voice, but you should have a female voice to sing along with :)
