Boy, do I miss bluegrass jams!
The joys of bluegrass
Thanks
This was fantastic !!! I miss living in East TN. You've gained another subscriber.
Fantastic music. Love from scotland UK
I’ve been going to Bluegrass Festivals since the 70’s and I always thought the best part was walking around to all the campsites and listening to people jamming . THIS IS AMERICA’S MUSIC !!
Here in Virginia, we have Bluegrass festivals east of Richmond annually. Went to one a few years back, it was a lot of fun. Sad Ralph Stanley open a table and chair about 10 feet away. But the best (besides seeing Ralph) was the talent show every night. In addition to the celebrities, they ask the audience for any guitar player, fiddle and so on. They agree on a number and away they go!
@@jerrytaylor4078 You mind sharing the name of some of these festivals? I'm a recent bluegrass convert from Virginia, and a lifelong musician. I don't even want to perform, just trying to see as much of this music as possible.
I used to go the Kentucky fried chicken bluegrass festival in Louisville, and your right, it’s a blast in the campgrounds .
Yes, it is. You have to go where they are hiding. They don't come out, ya have to go in amongst em.
SORRY bunky, this is not really americas music; it’s African, Scots and Irish al mixed together . Real AMerican music from this continent: Think drums, rattles , bells and flutes.
We need more of this type of thing....notice how it puts a smile on everyone's face.....good time people 😊
Yea,, if this doesn’t get your feet moving it’s too late, you’re already dead.
That's the great thing about bluegrass, everyone is usually so happy.
Nothing better than seeing and hearing a topnotch bluegrass band playing a Scruggs classic. You have to be an excellent musician to play Bluegrass. No such thing as faking it whatsoever.
I thought exactly the same thing!!!
Yes, Catherine you are absolutly right. Azur is blue!
How wonderful: just some guys & gals enjoying themselves, and letting a young man enter into their fun.
What has more power to make you feel better than a bluegrass band? Nuttin’. Even if you were feeling good, you’ll still end up feeling better.
“…nobody cries when you cut up a banjo”…I would!😆
The banjo player is so good he makes it look easy. He looks like he's barely even moving his hands.
He plays amazing, a real cool cat.
He is really good , no joke
Dude is 🔥
...and he's getting amazing tone while doing so.
Yeah I would put him right there with Buck Trent Grandpa Jones and Roy Clark
❤❤🤠🤠 and that's one of the reasons i love USA...Howdy from Greece
This is one of those songs . No matter who plays it it never gets old ❤
respect to the ppl just standing there no phone just enjoying it
Nice to see them giving the kid a chance. Future right there.
😊
He was pretty good; especially for his age!
that kid on the mando is so good
Oh yeahhhhh!!!!!! 🚛👍
For the artists, a moment in time. For the audience, a moment of a lifetime.
For sure!
Nice jamming folks. Bring it to FL!
Best comment ever. This goes for all music!
Notice how almost everyone listening has a smile on their face. 🙂
Wow, that was real virtuoso stuff. Thank you for posting that! Very nice atmosphere.
リズム感がすきです。沖縄日本より愛をこめて
I just saw the PBS special with Bela Fleck. I heard the name Sierra Hull and came to UA-cam. Am I glad I did!! By the way, I am a 67 year old head banger who loves bluegrass! The musicians are just so good.
Yep, humbling to this seasoned rock guy.
Absolutely agree 👍👍
I’m having a tough time in my life at the moment and it would be easy just to sink into myself and play sad songs but I would rather listen to these guys, very uplifting.
Take it easy, bro...
same. That's why this music was made.
Rejoice in the Lord, and Foggy Mountain Breakdown.
I've never been to a bluegrass festival, but would love to attend one. My late father played the mandolin with my cousins and after he passed, I inherited it. Still don't know how to play it, but want to learn.

No one's ever not smiling or tapping away at any bluegrass show. It's real uplifting.🤠🎯💪☝️😅love it
I love the similarities between bluegrass and traditional Irish music. Great stuff.
@@phealy02 I'm afraid you'll need bigger bait, Petey old son.
We are mostly emigrants..Europa.
Same! bouzoukis are criminally underrated in american folk music :)
I enjoyed very much. Greetings from Europe.
its a well done sending greetings from the Gold Coast Australia i really enjoyed that
It's great that another generation is upholding this musical tradition.
When musicians of this caliber assemble for a jam the music will be nothing short of fantastic

Watching and listening from Hillsboro, WV!!
Bluegrass is criminally underrated... awesome playing guys :)
💯💯💯
I call it Jazz for Country fans.
People like this make this country great. Oh how I wish things never changed
that energy...🧡🧡
I could make the violinist happy.
This is America folks !
Our people. Our music. A little bit of light shining through on this increasingly evil world.
Remember, whyte ppl don't have any culture... /s
Great comment. Feel good music this is.
Bluegrass is the best!
Just the Love, that's enough for me
Yeahhh, best wishes from Barcelona, Europe!
This music always makes me feel like I'm in Manhattan, visiting art museums with my Gucci bag and a $15 latte. I hear that it's even starting to become popular in rural areas.
Lololol
livin' the dream, right there
Wo Musik gespielt wird, da gibt es keinen Krieg !!!
The music I was raised on! Makes me miss my parents! Daddy played Dobro and mom played mandolin and guitar! When I was growing up didn’t appreciate it like I do now!! My uncle was an amazing banjo player! Wish I could go back in time! What a childhood
That's a great memory. Playing bluegrass with family is one of the greatest things in life.
Wow ! Fantastic. (Czech republic)
I saw this a year or two ago and it is still awesome!!😅
Wyatt was just a pup. Great job everyone
I danced around my kitchen with my dog listening this beauty! THANKS! :)
As an African American, I appreciate Bluegrass because it's utterly outside my experience. I love watching the woman in the background trying to "get down ".
Excellent. I highly recommend showing the beautiful girl in white more often.
Thank you so much that was fun to watch!
Yeps
Miss my dad every time I hear bluegrass. Every Wednesday just me and Dad would go to community center and listen to locals play. Highlight of my childhood. My special bond with Dad. Youngest of 5 so there wasn’t a lot of 1 on 1 time for any of us
definitely one of the coolest happiest styles of traditional music in the world. love from Portugal
Young Wyatt Ellis will grow to be a legend inshallah
Nice to see you american folks, having fun. Greetings from Strasbourg, France
Everyone in that crowd had a smile on their face. How can you not.
Thinking the same thing. How can you listen and not smile?
A true wholesome American art form. They make me proud!
I'm living in Provence (France) ; it's raining but your video enjoy my afternoon. I like it !
I m kind of new on this journey.
The soggy bottom boys brought me here.
And I love all of you guys&ladies
i wish i was an american luv from the uk.
The smile, makes me happy
That is a joyful noise. They do the pickin', and we all do the grinnin'.
This girl can play that mandolin like nobody’s business ❤❤❤Them Po boy’s are fire as well
he really cut on that banjo and there were only smiles ; ) all around!!
Miss Sierra did it again last night in East TN. WHAT A SHOW!!! IT WAS PERFECT. She finished her set, did an encore, then asked everyone to come close, and finished with an acoustic jam!!!
Those that know Bluegrass, know that's how it's done. Love the Po' boys too, saw them at this same stage earlier this year.
Music is alive and well in TN thanks to these young folk.
What's not to love about this??? Smile, smile, smile :)
My favorite Bluegrass piece
Awesome. My favorite kind of music: acoustic, mobile, free, and spontaneous
Smoking banjo, and I also like Sierra´s and Wyatt´s skills.
Funny to look back to when Sierra was the 12 year old prodigy. She sure did develop into a superb player.
That kid has got some soul in his mandolin playing!
I agree, he's doing fantastic. His name is Wyatt Ellis and he has UA-cam channel, if you didn't already know that.
😊
My God did he come a long way in a year.
Probably the millionth time they’ve played this.
I have watched this video at least a hundred times !!
Me too😂
Working towards it! Close to perfection. The joy and skill of the musicians is phenomenal
Brilliant, nothing better than watching a bunch of talented musicians jamming and having fun....love this music
Thumbs up & a big yeeehaaarrr from the uk.
Thanks.
Music makes people happy. All there is to it.
Random UA-cam Awesomeness! Pickin' N Grinnin' at it's best!
I get chills when these notes kick in whether I am listening to the Flatt & Scruggs original or this fantastic version by these talented musicians. Thanks for keeping it real!
Exactly what I feel!
It was like the younger mandolin player ask the banjo player if he can have a turn. I love Jam sessions.
Pickin and a grinnin... ❤
love the banjo but also love the mandarin
Happy smiling talented people. Keeping music live. What's not to like!
Some of the greatest music in American history like it or not
I'm an old hippie Freak, I love my rock and roll, But if you don't like that you don't like music, I've dig it.😊😊😊
I completely agree! I like some rock but bluegrass will always be my favorite.
I wish I was this talented
You could get to this point if you practice! It's amazing what practice can do.
What I have always enjoyed the most in attending Bluegrass Festivals are the impromptu jam secessions that take place in the parking lot or the camping areas after the main stage acts
are finished. One year at Strawberry in California, Seldom Scene was one of the headliners. Walking through the camping area I stopped to listen to a couple guys sitting around a campfire jamming with the members of Seldom Scene. I am sure that is a memory those pickers will never forget.
Shout out to Sierra Hull , Molly Tuttle , A.J. , Sarah Jarosz, Billy Strings, Michael Cleveland and all the young , magnificent musicians helping to keep Bluegrass and Americana music alive !!
Amen brother
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! (From Australia)
Now this is why we love Armorica.
That fiddler sure is purdy! Nice to see Laura I these circles.
Hey it’s Laura Orshaw on fiddle! She used to be in my dads band, Lykens Valley Bluegrass Boys!
One of the greatest pieces of music I've ever heard
My but those Southern Country folk can PLAY
MAN AND WIFE HOLDING THEIR CRUTCH IN B/G.
I love you, Sierra Hull!❤
Get in line......
Beautiful sound! God bless Tennessee!!
Sierra hull is an angel
Loved the change to E major hahaha
Now this is why we love Amorica.
America is beautiful
Happy holidays to all of you and may your coming New Year be the best ever.
i didn't know Kennedy could play FIddle? good for her!
Thanks for uploading for those of us who couldn't be there!
Nothing like a festival jam!
Yeeeehaaaaw. That's real bluegrass.
This just show’s the utter joy Bluegrass music can bring to all ages, good on ya 🪕🤟
