    I call Nova Lines “Nova 💩 Lines “ lmao 🤣 I was there for about a month and they always sent me from dead zone to dead zone making no money at all I barely made enough to make my car payment insurance and my phone bill that month I was there and this was mid December ‘22 to January ‘23. I’m so glad I left them and also Nova 💩 Lines don’t offer a fuel discount at all so you’re stuck paying full price at the pump and can’t even use your own fuel card. I have a friend who went to orientation with me and they did the same thing to him and they even got him a brand new truck and even that truck gave him problems and when he finally left Nova 💩 Lines they said he owed them about the same as you $6,500 dollars

    It sounds to me like you didn’t do a very good inspection of the equipment you purchased!
    You can check the oil and see it’s not fresh, or that it’s thin.
    Why would you buy a truck that doesn’t have a service on it, and new rubber?
    I’ve also never heard of an airbag blowing out, if it’s in good shape.
    You can usually tell when they start looking dry rotted, that they need to be replaced soon.
    You also should have done your research into the equipment you were buying, as far as recalls or service bulletins.
    And no, I’m not affiliated with Nova Lines in anyway shape or form.
    It just doesn’t sound to me like you did your due diligence before signing the dotted line.

    • @daviddrake9798
      @daviddrake9798  28 днів тому

      You definitely sound affiliated to me. FYI, the truck had low miles and was inspected my a local mechanic. They are to blame for not checking the oil velocity.
      Also, it was determined that the truck was maliciously tampered with and Nova Lines was aware of this.

      I don’t care who inspected it, if it wasn’t you, you have no one to blame but yourself for the condition of the vehicle when you took delivery.
      I wouldn’t buy a brand new truck from a dealership without going over it from head to toe before taking delivery of it.

      My guess is you didn’t want to pay the mechanic to do as thorough of a job as he should’ve.
      I’ve been driving for 40 years, and never lost a motor.
      Sounds to me like there might be a little bit more to the story, that you’re leaving out!

    Some of this just sounds like the pitfalls of leasing a truck, especially through the people who book the freight. Some of it sounds like terrible luck with the blown engine.
    As for brokers being unable to negotiate rates with brokers, I would encourage you to call a broker up on a load and try negotiating with them sometime. The way the market is now, the carrier isn’t really in a position to negotiate because the load to truck ratios favor the broker.
    I don’t know about @oldrookie numbers. Some of them sound suspect to me, and he hasn’t posted the actual settlement images for quite a while. But what I can respond to is your comment about him running with a company driver mentality chasing miles. There is a reason that trucking companies generally pay cpm and encourage company drivers to chase miles. The reason for that is because at the end of the day, that’s how the company(you in this case) make money. If you are leased to a company, equipment issues be damned, you should be doing whatever it takes to bring revenue to that truck. My kids are teenagers and to this day probably don’t even realize that thanksgiving falls on a Thursday every year. Thanksgiving is on a weekend. And my parents back that shit up. Thanksgiving is always at my house on the Sunday following thanksgiving. Same goes for birthday parties, anniversaries, all that.
    If you’re averaging $2.50 per loaded mile, there is no planet on which running less miles makes more money or more success than running more miles at the same average rate per mile.
    People who tell you otherwise are fucking broke. There’s a reason they were there at the lunch counter at 3pm on a Thursday to tell you that bullshit. And it’s not because they were making money.
    And you’re flatbed. What the fuck are you even doing parked at a truckstop anyway unless you’re getting fuel while taking your 30 off duty? You know damn well 99% of the time that load delivers 7-3/4 Monday through Friday, not whatever that dispatch says.
    So yea absolutely run that truck like a company driver and run those numbers like a trucking company. The trucking company picks the loads and the driver shuts the fuck up and hauls the loads as fast as possible, delivering the first second they can and repeating that shit. Day in and day out.
    The rest I actually kinda agree with. It’s bullshit that they refused the warranty work. And clearly there is sabotage when it comes to the truck. Either someone poured something in the engine, or some fucking idiot used the wrong type of oil to save money. Either way that’s some bullshit.
    But as for the company driver comment… you are a company driver if you are leased. Company driver with bills. Plain and simple. Run like one or go back to a company.

    • @daviddrake9798
      @daviddrake9798  5 місяців тому

      With this company they don't allow you to communicate with the brokers at all it's actually highly frowned upon. I also tried to obtain some customers from novellas near Augusta and they weren't open to it at all. I don't park at truck stops I park at planet fitness or at the shipper/receiver.

      It was not under warranty at all they claim that it was vandalism. I found out later that a previous driver dumped transmission fluid in the motor. I'm not a diesel mechanic but it caused significant damage to the engine. Warranty not covered at all. According to Freightliner when jackasses do something like this, damage is slowly down over time. He said it could take a week or possibly four weeks and that's what happened to me. Go do your homework warranty does not cover malicious vindictive damage

    How is ANY mechanical failure on a truck with less than 50k miles… the companies fault? They haven’t even had to service it yet lol…
    100% accurate that it’s your responsibility, it’s under warranty anyways. Company offered you a rental to keep revenue flowing. Engine replacement takes a month minimum…. What an idiotic review….

    • @daviddrake9798
      @daviddrake9798  Рік тому +1

      Go re-watch the video. The Freightliner repair facility in Birmingham claimed that it was poor maintenance on the vehicle by not changing the oil and not getting the recall work done to the truck. Nova Lines rejected the service request not once but 6 times. This was no longer warranty repairs due to Nova Lines negligence.
      Also, do you think it's smart to not change your oil after purchasing brand new after 5000 miles? You do this because as the Pistons rods and internal parts of the motor breaks in... Your oil will have metal shavings. Not changing the oil for almost 50k miles is beyond ignorant.

    Of course you do. How long have you been driving?
    How else can you dispute a later claim on damaged cargo?
    You complain a lot.
    Equipment issues are part of trucking and yes, oil change intervals are not every 12k miles in newer trucks.
    Do your research.

    • @daviddrake9798
      @daviddrake9798  7 місяців тому

      You are grossly wrong buddy. When purchasing a new truck specifically freightliner, they require you to change the oil after the first 12,000 miles. Not to do it every 12,000 mi but the first. Freightliner did not warranty the truck because... All had been changed and it was metal shavings all in the engine.
      Yes it is good practice to take pictures of the load for potential claims. However I'm an independent contractor and I shouldn't be required to provide those pictures to dispatch because I'm not their employee.
