LRB has great vocal harmonies. The driving force behind the band’s success is Glenn Shorrock (lead singer), Beeb Birtles (guitar) and Graham Goble (guitar). They are responsible for the writing of almost all of their biggest hits in the late 70s and they sing some of the sweetest harmonies. You should react to Reminiscing, Lady, Cool Change.
There were so many Fantastic artists back then. The Little River Band is one of many groups that got over-looked back then, but make no mistake about it they were very very Good. A deeper dive into this group will not hurt your ears!!!
Hotel California came first along 1977 or so. This song is from the late seventies or early 80's. A period which I termed the Aussie Music Invasion...so much great talent from the wonderful land of Oz.
LRB are an underrated band. One of the reasons you may not have heard of them is that they focused on the American market instead of the British, unlike most Australian acts of their era. Other songs to listen to include It's a Long Way There, Reminiscing, Lady, and Lonesome Loser,.
Here is another amazing vocal gift from one of my favorite countries in all the world, the wonderful land of Oz. Olivia, Helen, Air Supply, Little River Band, Midnite Oil, INXS and on and on...God bless Australia 🙌 and her people. Always.
Thanks Harri for revisiting Little River Band. Love this band. The great songs by them: Down on the Border, Take It Easy On Me, Lady, Every Day of My Life, I'll Be Home on Monday, Days on the Road, Cool Change, Lonesome Loser, Man on Your Mind, The Night Owls, Reminiscing. Pick one, pick all, they're all great. Their harmonies are fantastic. Love your reactions! Janet from Louisiana ☮🖤🤘 P. S. Just make sure Sherrock, Birtles and Goble are on the song.
Holy-snapping-duckspit YES!! A rabbit hole you definitely need to jump down. This is my favourite LRB song - but they had soooo many great ones to check out (my faves are from the Glenn Shorrock years - the lead singer here). Definitely check out more like: Cool Change, Lonesome Loser, Shutdown Turnoff, Witchery, Emma, Lady (and no it's not the kenny rogers or lionel ritchie song)
Harri, LRB is one of the greatest bands of the era and yet still somehow underrated. So good. My high school years are filled with LRB music. They are worth a deep dive. Pick any song off their greatest hits album. You cant go wrong as they are all good.
Along with Cool Change, my favorite LRB song. May God bless Australia for all the talent you have shared with us!❤ Bless Helen,Olivia, LRB, Midnight Oil, Men at Work,AC/DC, INXS and on and on. They talk of the British invasion, 'tis true, but in the 70s and 80s there was an Aussie invasion. And we were all the better for it.❤ 🇦🇺. Special shout out to Newcastle, NSW, for personal reasons.
Little River Band one of Australia’s Greatest Exports …. Had great success in America…..their harmonies were sharp because of years of playing in Australia before success overseas…. Glenn Shorrock… Lead vocals…. And Beeb Birtles Guitar could also Sing ….. Every day of my life… Beeb Vocal.
Little River Band are such a vibe! They have a FULL DOZEN tracks like this! Great vocals, harmonies and MUSICIANS! The very next track you must hear... COOL CHANGE
Since I was born in the late 50s, the 70s were the most important years in music for me. As we move on to the 80s and 90s, I find that I still liked to listen to the old bands who were still around much more than the newer bands of those years.
1 of the best "opening acts" I have ever seen back in 1977 or 1978 or maybe even 1979. I don't remember what I had for breakfast today let alone what happened 40+ years ago. They were so good, I don't remember who they even opened up for.
It's amazing how the human memory works. I can remember seeing them when they played The Portland Jam at Portland International Raceway. Saturday Sept. 2, 1978. I know the date because I still have the ticket stub from most of the concerts I went to. Bob Welch and Heart (Headliner) also played. Heart was great that day, LRB was excellent also. Ticket was $10.00!
Little River Band has to be one of my favorite groups of all time! Incredible harmonies by the lead singer Glenn Shorrock and the guitar player Beeb Birtles. Great song!!!
I'm new to your channel I saw you react to Elvis and love it please do more on the King coming to you from Tennessee and you are easy on the eye too bonus love your reactions ❤
Little River Band " home on a Monday" is another great song of theirs. Also, you can find the little river band with Glen Frey from the eagles live in Australia in about 1988 .
Little River Band and Air Supply were my two favorite bands, and they were both from Australia. I never thought that one section sounded like Hotel California, a song I don't like.
Little River Band was a huge influence to the Eagles. Glenn Fry loved their harmonies and wanted to incorporate that into the Eagles Band. So Little River Band was before the Eagles and were emulated by the Eagles.
Given your Hotel California reference as a comparison, the two songs were on the charts at the same time in 1977, so unlikely "Hotel" influenced "Help" given the months long recording process.
I thought they had their breakout in 1975 or so. They played a three band show I saw in July of 78’, Heart, LRB, Bob Welch. All of them put on great shows!!!
Saturday night, Easter 1976 in Albury, NSW, Australia. I was there for a hockey tournament at the Hume Weir. At the town square, I watched, for free, LRB. It was magic.
LRB is the first Australian band to make it in the USA Like a lot of great bands there are multiple song-writers. IN this case Glenn Shorrock (the singer) wrote the song Glenn Shorrock was born in the UK He was in 60s Aussie band The Twilights, and then in Axiom Birtles & Goble were in a band called Mississippi with drummer Derek Pellicci. When they combined with Shorock you get LRB Derek Pellicci left early. He was born in Italy and Birtles was born in the Netherlands Like "The Easybeats" they're an Aussie band made up of migrants
Beep Birtles was in Pink Zoot or later, Zoot along with Darryl Cotton and Rick Springfield, before Rick moved to the US and had hits like Jesse's Girl. Beep then joined a band called Mississippi with Graham Gobel, they had a few hits including Make Way For The King's Of The World. These guys formed a new band with one of the singers from another Aussie band, Axiom. That singer was Glen Shorrock. LRB had a string of hits here in Oz. Eventually, they went to the US, Glen left and John Farnham took over vocals. Aussie legends.
I still have their cassette from when I was a teen in the 80s of their greatest hits! I love them! Please react to Cool Change..that was always my fave! Keep On Rockin'
This is a great soft rock band from Australia. They had a lot of great hits especially in the 70's-80's such as "Happy Anniversary", "Reminiscing", "Lady", "Lonesome Loser", "Cool Change", "It's A Long Way There", "Take It Easy On Me" etc.
You got it right! Some of the best music ever created is in the late 60's and 70's. The 70's was my era and the studio produced crap that passes for today's music is ridiculous. Artists of today are more worried about money and status than having the talent to make a difference.
Story goes, John Lennon was in Jamaica when he heard this song. He stopped and listened for a while before saying, 'That's a good song'. If it were true, what a compliment. Great Aussie band. Harry, check out Cool Change, Lonesome Loser, Home On Monday
Nice reaction Harri. Since you brought it up, I cannot find your reaction to the live performance of “Hotel California”. Where did it go? It was one of my favorites from “Harribest’s Greatest Hits”😂. I would really like to watch it again. 🌺✌️
Harri my dude, I introduced you to Little River Band back in January with "Long Way There". I'm happy to see you still think of them in the same light.
One of my go to bands…and so many Hits… may I suggest go quickly and react to “It’s a long way there” after that throw a dart at LRB play list and you got a winner, in my opinion. So glad you’ve arrived! Kelly
They were a VERY tight band musically. They always toured, they tested new stuff by doing it live before recoreding it. They usually did 1 take recordings - no post editing. It may have taken a few goes, but they tended to do the whole thing in one go. Also they didn't like to make anything they couldn't reproduce live on stage.
Little River Band has some of the most immaculate harmonies of their era. Everyone of the members from Glenn Shorrock on down had immense talent and they produced some absolutely memorable songs. Also, I think Glenn Frey from the Eagles did say at one point that Little River Band had some of his favorite harmonies
'Reminiscing' (you'll love the chill mood on their official video) is the cherry on top of the icing on top of the LRB cake - and what a rich offering it is. Many of their album cuts are outstanding. As mentioned in the comments here, the Shorrock/Birtles/Goble combination is generally the most rewarding.
I saw these guys on a hot summer weekend, in an outdoor venue, along with Heart, and I believe Supertramp in the mid-1970s. There were a few other bands, but I can’t remember them now. Back then they wanted to have a few groups play a venue outdoors on a weekend.
Moon denote singing. So all yhe baby boomers can sing! They talk about "taking care of you^. Moon likes to take care of people. And since Moon denotes home (Venus denotes luxury in the home), Moon also denotes hotels - the subject touched on by the Eagles who are also baby boomers. And Moon always lends a helping hand. The kampong spirit!
hi mate im from australia just came across your profile and hereing help is on its way that bwas my favouret song back then i played it on cassette in the car all the time great choise in song mate have a good day david
LRB has great vocal harmonies. The driving force behind the band’s success is Glenn Shorrock (lead singer), Beeb Birtles (guitar) and Graham Goble (guitar). I've seen LRB Live in Melbourne Australia in the early 70s AND THEY SOUNDED EXACTLY Like Their CD's
A FUN FACT THAT BEEB BERTLES THE guitarist OF LRB is FROM HOLLAND
Glenn Shorrock left the band in February of 1982 and was replaced by John Farnham
There were so many Fantastic artists back then. The Little River Band is one of many groups that got over-looked back then, but make no mistake about it they were very very Good. A deeper dive into this group will not hurt your ears!!!
Not overlooked by me..now I am ready for a cool change.
Hotel California came first along 1977 or so. This song is from the late seventies or early 80's. A period which I termed the Aussie Music Invasion...so much great talent from the wonderful land of Oz.

They focused on the American market more than the Australian market.
"It's a long way there" the full 8 minute or so remaster highlights their musical and harmony skills a near perfect song
One of the all-time great Australian songs. Just perfect.
I suspect many of their hits will make it onto your play list. "Cool Change" is life altering for those of us in a hurry.
Here is another amazing vocal gift from one of my favorite countries in all the world, the wonderful land of Oz. Olivia, Helen, Air Supply, Little River Band, Midnite Oil, INXS and on and on...God bless Australia 🙌 and her people. Always.
A number of hits back in the day check out reminiscing next.
Yes reminiscing is a wonderful song.
Eagles vibe, yes! When you can sing like this, a live performance is a snap. No auto-tune.
Check out more from these guys, classic Aussie rock
1970's Australian group. I love the stage costumes. The "Cowsills" meet the "Eagles" to rock out 70's style
One of Australia's greatest bands ... still got my late Mum's 45s of them ...
Those super 70s bands just put out a continuous river of greatness!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS BAND!!!!! THANKS HARRI!!!!!!!!
Yet another great Aussie band 👍
Little River Band one of Australia’s Greatest Exports …. Had great success in America…..their harmonies were sharp because of years of playing in Australia before success overseas…. Glenn Shorrock… Lead vocals…. And Beeb Birtles Guitar could also Sing ….. Every day of my life… Beeb Vocal.
This takes me back to childhood. I would be glued to my radio for 4 hours at a stretch back in the day. Blessed to have lived during the 70s.
Little River Band are such a vibe!
They have a FULL DOZEN tracks like this!
Great vocals, harmonies and MUSICIANS!
The very next track you must hear...
COOL CHANGE
You did "It's a long way there" by them a few months back. Great song!
YEAH VERYYYY TRUE HARRI, 70'S BANDS HAD ALOTTTT OF SUPPORTING AND BACKING VOCAL STUFF. :) TIMELESS TIMELESS TIMELESS :)
Since I was born in the late 50s, the 70s were the most important years in music for me. As we move on to the 80s and 90s, I find that I still liked to listen to the old bands who were still around much more than the newer bands of those years.
They were contemporaries of the Eagles. Each member of each band brought something special to each song.
I love your review and responce to our beautiful Little river Band ❤
Check out Happy Anniversary, Reminesing, Take It Easy On Me, Cool Change, lady. All songs are lit!✌️
And like you were saying just watching them together they're feeding off each other you can feel it you can see it
Have a listen to It's a Long Way There, brilliant
1 of the best "opening acts" I have ever seen back in 1977 or 1978 or maybe even 1979. I don't remember what I had for breakfast today let alone what happened 40+ years ago.
They were so good, I don't remember who they even opened up for.

Ticket was $10.00!
When I saw them they opened for Boz Scaggs!
Love these guys. All of their songs are amazing
LRB; some of the best harmonies ever recorded.
Little River Band has to be one of my favorite groups of all time! Incredible harmonies by the lead singer Glenn Shorrock and the guitar player Beeb Birtles. Great song!!!
One of my favourites, written about a little boy with no immune system who literally had to live in a giant “bubble”.
I'm new to your channel I saw you react to Elvis and love it please do more on the King coming to you from Tennessee and you are easy on the eye too bonus love your reactions ❤
Cool Change is my absolute favorite song by Little River Band. 😊
"Lady" is my favorite but they have many great songs!!! Can't believe you never heard of them.
i WENT TO AN LRB CONCERT in the EARLY 70's AND THEY SOUNDED EXACTLY THE SAME AS their RECORDS
Omg thanks Harry for reacting to this song Little River Band! Such great harmonies! Incredible musicians.
Groovy! Exactly! 🌼🍄
Little River Band " home on a Monday" is another great song of theirs. Also, you can find the little river band with Glen Frey from the eagles live in Australia in about 1988 .
These guys were very good live. Lots of talent there. Got to see them open for Foreigner.
Little River Band and Air Supply were my two favorite bands, and they were both from Australia. I never thought that one section sounded like Hotel California, a song I don't like.

classic Aussie band i grew up with , thank you
A great band, great voices, great music. 🎶🎶🎶💕💕💕🎸🎸👍
"Lonesome Loser" and "Reminiscing" were always on the radio when I was a young boy in the early 80s...I know you would like them too Harry. Thank you!

Yep back then people had to be able to sing. Aka talent. Loved the 60s70sand 80s
Wow, I haven't heard this in years! Thank you for reacting to it! ❤
Nice reaction Harri. Since you brought it up, I cannot find your reaction to the live performance of “Hotel California”. Where did it go? It was one of my favorites from “Harribest’s Greatest Hits”😂. I would really like to watch it again. 🌺✌️
Glad you like them. They were my favorite band when I was a pre-teen/early teens. Still love them.
Harri my dude, I introduced you to Little River Band back in January with "Long Way There". I'm happy to see you still think of them in the same light.
I was pretty sure Harri had reacted to LRB before. Thanks for the reminder of which track.
@@IllumeEltanin it's my pleasure!
One of my go to bands…and so many Hits… may I suggest go quickly and react to “It’s a long way there” after that throw a dart at LRB play list and you got a winner, in my opinion. So glad you’ve arrived! Kelly
Don’t I feel silly! I noticed you’ve already reacted to my suggested song so obviously you got this without my help.lol Great Minds…
They were a VERY tight band musically. They always toured, they tested new stuff by doing it live before recoreding it. They usually did 1 take recordings - no post editing. It may have taken a few goes, but they tended to do the whole thing in one go.

Awesome Reaction
Great reaction!! Love LRB. In terms of the Eagles I think LRB were as good as the Eagles. LRB had So many great hits
Their songs never date imho- grew up with them in Australia. Still a favourite now .
They performed onstage with the Eagles. The Eagles called LRB the best vocal band alive.

Great song!! Thank you for sharing.
Lonesome Loser next, Hear me now, believe me later.
OH YEAH, THEY HAD SEVERAL HARRI :) COOL CHANGE, REMINISCING, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY :) ENJOYYYY
Good catch regarding band members all singing in the 70s. LRB had very good musicians/singers. Another fun reaction, Harri!
I saw these guys on a hot summer weekend, in an outdoor venue, along with Heart, and I believe Supertramp in the mid-1970s. There were a few other bands, but I can’t remember them now. Back then they wanted to have a few groups play a venue outdoors on a weekend.
Saw them on Sept. 2, 1978 In Portland Oregon at the Portland Jam. Heart was the headliner. Bob Welch played also. Been a fan since around 1975.

The Eagles themselves call them the Australian Eagles, check out Eagles late lead singer Glenn Freys version of desperado ft little river band 🎸🔥✌️
You have heard of them, you reacted weeks ago, saying then how good they were.
Hey Harri, I love LRB and you are right, they do remind me of the eagles here with all the harmonies. Much love to you and the channel. 😎
Love, Love Little River Band. Play more please
Can't go wrong with LRB. love these guys
hi mate im from australia just came across your profile and hereing help is on its way that bwas my favouret song back then i played it on cassette in the car all the time great choise in song mate have a good day david
They have great songs Harri!!!!
You might like 'The Diary of Horace Wimp' by ELO and 'Nowhere Man' by the Beatles. Maybe even 'Jeremiah was a Bullfrog' by the Three Dog Night.
70s = lush harmonies. LRB had numerous tunes with great harmony vocals.
LRB has some of the best super tight harmony you'll ever hear. I love the bass line in this as well. Great tune!
Fantastic reaction, Harri! Thanks so much for hitting this. There are more great LRB songs in store, I can assure you.
Grew up listening to LRB as a kid. Brings back so many memories/feelings. Glad you found the time to review this band a second time.
Long version of "Its a Longway There" is the best song by these guys, check it out Harri.
Harri picks the best songs/artists!
If you drive from Melbourne to Geelong you cross a small bridge over “the little river.”
LRB was great musically and vocally. Way too many great songs they did to list. Just enjoy all of them.😊
