- People often moan about cyclists not stopping at red lights.
Motorists also don't, they just do it in a different fashion, typically going through at speed as the light changes to red. Or failing to stop at the correct stop line.

I'm glad you posted this video. I am not a cyclist but I live in London and see vehicles going through red lights constantly. (I have to say buses are the biggest culprit). Everyone loves to complain about cyclists but I never here anyone complain about any other mode of transport. That's not to say that some cyclists are not at fault but we need to start calling out everyone, and do away with this "Us and Them" mentality. One of the biggest problems I see in London is there's an absolute lawlessness that goes on, I see wreckless driving and disregard for rules on a regular basis. But I don't know how it can be stopped.
Completely agree, people are always telling me bikes break red lights (which is true but not all of us) but motorists seem oblivious to the amount of buses, taxies, cars, vans, trucks who break red lights daily with much more potential for harm
Agree there and as for buses tye only thing I can think of why they don't stop probably might be if its Amber and they are approaching they might try and prevent slamming the brakes and potentially injure a passenger plus would assume buses have longer braking distance. Still though drivers should anticipate the lightd

Seen some videos of people getting done for using a right turn only lane to then cut straight ahead at a junction. Looks like there's cameras like that set up but not everywhere sadly. There's some traffic lights in my area where it'll have a green ⬆️ for cars going straight ahead and still have a red light for cars to go left or right. For people with cameras this could be used as evidence for red light jumping if they use the wrong lane to go straight across
That's actually a really good idea. Enforcement of an existing law that exists for a real effectual reason that what probably still raise a large amount of money due to the high numbers of entitlement on the roads . ( Waiting for someone to whine about cyclists not getting fined)

shouting at drivers for this will only make us on pedals look worse we're in no position to be doing it because of how disproportionate bikes run lights vs cars
I have reported many of these blatant RLJ, always ignored by police. Once was told that if the car did not cross the line 3 seconds after it turned red there was not point reporting them.
I'm sorry but you caught a 1 in a million thing happening at the start of the video, I'm a cyclist and this is THE FIRST TIME I have ever seen a delivery driver stop at traffic lights, he's even on a JustEat branded UK Legal ELEGLIDE, Never in my lifetime did I think I'd see a legal delivery driver!

I think it's a laziness thing mostly? I can just about squeeze through, can't really be bothered getting myself ready to stop , and committed at amber.
Attitude changes are evolutionary, we have evolved to this state . Reversing this attitude might happen before the 6th mass extinction? But probably not .
Some sympathy for these drivers, as it must be very difficult to see what the light colour is when they are on the phone applying an Instagram filter to a photo of a dog.
If only there were some way for these poor road users to know the lights were about to go red.

This is true, but easier to show just the red lights.
1:35 they were still probably looking over their shoulder or in mirror to complete the move over, then not noticed the lights in front had changed. Still should have stopped though...
First clip, the silver Audi, that one was a diplomatic plate with the 'D' in the middle of the reg plate. Zero chance of prosecution

Cyclists have nearly the same behavior.
It's pretty much everywhere, and among all forms of transportation. Same principle with people walking against the "Don't Walk" or red hand signal, only they don't do much damage when they bump into stuff.
I blame cyclists. Drivers only jump red lights because they've seen cyclists do it and just want to even the score. Cyclists give drivers a bad name, which is unfair.
