I’ve done a lot of jdm to usdm swaps and they’re great donors but always find myself swapping 20+% of the old engine onto the donor. Most I’ve done always require the oil pan(s) swapped and in some cases the entire front timing cover to accommodate original accessories and or mounts. I generally just break them down to longblocks and transfer as much of the original engine as possible as I’ve been in your shoes before installing/pulling multiple times. Keep trackin brother you got it, love the content.
Well if the oil pan is the problem put the old pan on there off the old engine then maybe it will go down far enough. Maybe. I’m not there so you know more than I do at this point. 😂. But love the videos. 👍🏻
I’ve had to wrap a ratchet strap around the motor and ratchet the motor forward because sometimes the mounts just don’t line up. Especially swapping to poly mounts. PITA for sure
Feel your pain I had to replace the eng in my wife's 2011 Camry by my self and yes it would have been nice to have another hand to help get it out and back in.

That was like when my brother bolted a 1991 model 3S-FE engine into his old 1987 model Toyota SV21 Camry, they use a different amount of crankshaft flywheel bolts in the 1987 model engine so you have to fit a 1991 model flywheel onto that engine because the 1987 model 3S-FE flywheel won't fit. It looks like you will need the lower engine mounts from the model of car that the engine is going into !
Well placed ratchet straps are just as effective as a second person in many cases. Often times better, ot doesnt get tired and does exactly what you tell it to do with no protest
You’re doing awesome Matt! Only suggestion I might make is getting an engine leveler attached to the end of your hoist’s boom. It’s awesome for maneuvering the engine during install/removal. Just my $.02
U got this bro..and talk to the customer and just weld it were it needs to be by making your own brackets and just weld it be done with it..but that me..lol good luck
I have an 02 Camry and just had to replace my injectors, all 4 motor mounts, tie rods, MAF, Evap canister, brakes, calipers, rotors, sway bar links… seeing those headlights gave me ptsd. Still have to change struts, serpentine belt, and my throttle body is dirty as shit. 217k miles and they never changed shit. Good to see someone else work on a Camry and not me 😂🥴😭

You’ll need to strap the ratchet too the front crash beam. It might take a couple straps, mounted to another location as some are a real PITA.
