Ric was a great song writer. After hearing Ben sing it, no one can do it better than Ben. I appreciate the fact that Ric continued it on both as a writer of the song, and keep the song alive. But Ben just sang it with Bens style, perfection..
First time hearing this version but Ric made the right choice letting Ben sing this song. Would've never been a hit if Ric sang it originally. Bens voice wraps around this song like a blanket. You can't separate the two.

Or shortened them like Ben did. Orr was also the last name of a hockey superstar who played defense for the Boston Bruins, where The Cars were based.
Probably wasn't easy singing this song when your Bandmate Friend Ben sang this song too memories they had together early begining Grind playing at Bars writing traveling across East Coast find Right Band mates and establish a New Unique Signature Sound back in late 70s Album after Album threw the 80s, I'm sure Ric thinks of those moments before and after singing this Song and says this one is for you Ben. They had much success and the rest is History. Ric and Ben Classy Gentlemen
