- An intro to some of some of the best arm balances (in my own opinion) to start off with. Make sure to warm up the shoulders, wrists & core first. It'll make your job a lot easier.
Grab a few yoga blocks if you have them. They may help by providing a few more inches off the ground.
Please be sure to hit that Like!! 👍👍👍
Follow of you haven't already!❤❤❤
And follow me @KelsYogi on both Instagram & TikTok
Thanks so much. Super helpful!🙏🏻
Great!!
Yep I agree. This is a great video. Thank you xx
This is a great video! I almost did the head stands and I did most of the others with your guidance. Thank you!
You are amazing yoga teacher
I like your technique ❤❤
Super intro, very well thought out cues and alignments!
Great tips!!! Thanks for sharing…seeing you do it makes me feel like I’ll be able too
This is so helpful. I got courage and steps to do some arm balancing asanas.
Thank you so much. Really a great variety of poses and a lot adjustments suggestions
Aaww thanks so much!!
This by far is one of the best step by step videos I’ve seen. Thanks for breaking down the dos and don’t and how to prevent injuries from occurring. I was able to get the second yoga pose the first try and I’m a beginner.
That's amazing!!! Congratulations! 🎉 And thank you for the feedback!! 😊
This is so cool!!! i just searched up arm balances to see what others there are besides lsit, crow, and handstand stuff but i didnt realize there were so many amazing positions!! definitely gonna be working towards being able to do these >:)
Awesome!! So glad you enjoyed it!!
Very helpful suggestions.
It was beautiful!!!! I could only do crow pose in arm balancing and I thought that was the only arm balancing pose for a beginner, rest seemed so difficult. But with this video I was able to do elephant and almost 8 angle pose. And I am growing in headstand as well. This was so helpful, as I was following your steps, everything seemed possible and easy❤I want a part 2 of this!!
OOhh so good! Congrats. Part 2 is a great idea.
This video deserves 20k more views, Brilliant.
So kind of you. Thank you!!
Thank you! Very useful information its exactly what i needed!
Not surprising!! Many of us start with crow rather than baby crow. You'll get it!!
Impressive!
For anyone else struggling to get into the head in the hands handstand variation, you might need to jump into the move a little bit due to lack of flexibility rather than lack of core strength. I personally find the tripod headstand much easier to get into.
Great tips! 🙌
Wish you would come do a workshop or retreat in SoCal! I could set you up with our local studio in Laguna Beach if you ever do a teaching tour. Your cues are great, and your alignment is excellent. It's hard to find a teacher to help me improve in/with advanced poses. Love yr Insta, as well.
I just found your videos, they look so interesting I am excited to try them!
Hope you are enjoying them!!
Truly excellent, Kells. My focus is calisthenics -- basically a cali athlete -- and not yoga specifically. I can already hold Crow, but wanted to improve my form & technique. Subscribed to you the moment you referenced Kakasana as different from Bakasana. I admit I get a little annoyed when yoga "experts" get that wrong. 😉
Amen Chris Amen lol!! Crow & crane...not the same!! Thanks for the sub!!
Please more of this arm balances / blocks , thank
Wow that’s very modest for you to say this is beginner ;-P great class 👍
Lol I hear you! I will try to break them down further and use props. Would that help? 🙏
Very impressive. I like this and will share it with my YTT friends. Thank you for the video. Namaste
My pleasure!
Wow. Excellent 👌👌👌
Thanks a lot
This is exactly what i was looking for! I don't do yoga at all. I'm only interested in learning balances, not beginner yoga in general. Seems to be some confusion in the comments. Thanks for putting this together.
Ahh yes!! Thanks so much. Glad you get it. ;)
This is awesome! First time I’ve been able to get air in my crow pose. Thank you! I was a little surprised about the number of mid-roll ads. I had to stop in the middle of my balances to skip the ads, which I found irritating. Super helpful video though.
Ugh stupid ads!! That's UA-cam unfortunately...not me. I'm sorry though!!
I am super pumped you got some air time!! Congratulations!!
This was an amazing video. Crow was my first arm balance that I did.
My pleasure!! Great job!
How you did it??
For me it hurts when I press my legs into my arms for the crow pose
logging practice 3/11/24
I always find it interesting how different everyone is… I got my firefly pose before I could even do a proper crow, which is just a testament to how much faster my flexibility has progressed compared to my strength
Thank you.
So welcome!!
I can get into the positions to start, but have a lot of trouble with my knees sliding down my arms in crow and baby crow etc… guessing I need more lower core strength but do you have any insights on that aspect (how to keep the knees where they need to be?) maybe I need to just practice more!
Such an excellent video! Thank you. I have a question with the positioning of the knees for the crow position.....I have strength in my arms but i feel like my knees pinch the flesh under my arms....which is more painful than holding the weight up. I would greatly appreciate any advice with this so I can get my crow in the correct position. Thanks much!
I hear you!! It doesn't hurt the arms. For a while... But my best advice is to stay consistent. The arms will toughen up! But also, as the core gets stronger you will put less pressure on the arms. So really focus pulling the belly in & rounding the upper back.
Question, I've seen the crow being made with the knees closer to the armpits and closer to the elbows, is it one better than the other or just variations?
You know....I've seen both ways also. My teacher has always told me to climb the knees as high as possible on the triceps. To me, that feels more strong & balanced! But try both & see what you like best! 🙌
Maybe this helps: ua-cam.com/video/Xi8MWG3I3MA/v-deo.html
great video! just a question - the thing preventing me from balancing is the pain in my triceps from the pressure of my knees. How do I help this or is it just practice?
the pain may be coming from your triceps not being able to handle the pressure due to inexperience, i couldnt do crow when i first tried it out simply bc i was like “owie” all the time lol, what helped me out was lowering my knees closer to my elbows, and as i progressed, move the knees up to sit directly on the triceps, so you can slowly ease yourself into it. also make sure youre leaning forward a lot! it takes some pressure off of the muscle, and really puts your shoulders to work, you got this!!
Yes, it does take some getting used to. And the more you work it, the easier and quicker you will find the most comfortable spot. I let my triceps roll out of the way to the outer edge of the arm, if that makes sense. Keep working it and engage your core, as that will help take some of the load off the arms.
What is your tip doing arm and inversion balances without the wall ? Thank you. I fell once doing forearm stand and hurt my left hip. So my Fear of falling is very strong.
Thanks for your help.
I totally get that!! Acknowledging the fear is a huge first step! I have a video on here about getting off the wall. I'll get it for you...

How do I get over the pain from the knees pushing into my arms?
Continue to work the abs. With a stronger core, you will put less pressure on the arms. But with time, the arms will toughen up too!!
i feel my triceps hurting when resting my knees on them in bakasana😢 thats the main reason i cant stay on the pose for too long. any tips?
What if your knees are higher....almost to the armpit? That should take the pressure off the tricep more.
Super useful, but it's not for the beginners. Thanks for sharing your tips... 😊
Arm balances are not for beginners... its beginner level for balancing on your hands. Thanks so much!! 😊
I lack flexibility and alot of arm balance
I don't think these are beginner arm balances :D.. I have been doing yoga for a few years and these are not for beginners at all. Otherwise I like the selection :)
I get what you're saying however....arm balances, in general, aren't really "beginner" level. But if you want to start holding your weight in arm balances, you've got to start somewhere :) thanks for watching.
Something to work towards 😉
It's for those people, who are new to arm balancing and not yoga !!

U r perfect online Guruji 🙏🙏
Aawww thank you!! So much!!
OMG those are beginner arm balances? I'm still trying to recover from watching the elephant trunk. How long does it take to get to this "beginner" level in order to do even just the head stand?
Arm balances are not beginner in themselves. It can take a few years to build the awareness and strength. Keep at it!!
why was the baby crow so much harder than the crow hjfdskjhaf
Lol I hear that a lot! It's intimidating so close to the ground.
Love all your videos, how can I skip the adds? Very disturbing in the middle of a pose 😢
Unfortunately...that's nothing I can control. That's a UA-cam thing. I think you buy the UA-cam upgrade you get to skip ads. I don't get any benefit from that, just UA-cam. Again...sorry. 🫤
Beginners, you said?
Well it's beginner for arm balances. Which all arm balances are intermediate to advanced for a yoga practice. Does that make sense?
These are not beginner poses.
most are; I’m a beginner and I can do this
Very hot
Too far away
Great exercises. But could you speak less. I was watching it in 2x and still needed to skip a lot
Sorry about that 🙏
You think the crow position is a beginner yoga poise. Good grief, absolutely clueless…..
No. Agreed. Crow is not considered a beginner posture...its a beginner arm balance. Not one arm balance is a beginner posture. See what I mean?
