DIY Pura Vida bracelets! (easy/inexpensive, vsco inspired)

You can use string that can't be burned (ex. friendship bracelet sting/embroidery thread) and use clear nail polish or glue to seal the knots.
Measurements:
Main part of the bracelet: 9 pieces of string that are 6 inches each
"Tails" (strings that you pull to close it) 2 pieces that are 8 inches each
Closure: 1 piece of string that is 4-6 inches

Quick Tip: for small to normal sized wrists I would suggest using 8 1/2 inch string for the middle for anklets use 9 or 91/2 inch string

Cute!! most of my bracelets and anklets are PV cause I love the company and what it stands for, but I realized I don’t need to be spending 7 bucks per anklet, especially when I wear a ton haha.

Every time I twist the strings they just unravel once I knot them. I have tried to twist them in each direction and as soon as I knot them, it's just two strings knoted, no twists. For the life of me I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong?

Hi! I used this video to make my bracelet and it turned out great! However, I used weaving string (idk if that was right) and the lighter would not fuse the strings together, it would just char them. So, i just cut off the excess string and used a hot glue gun on the knots and it worked perfectly!

You could wax your embroidery floss

Hi can ı ask a question? How do you make the knot stay in place. Mine just sliding while ı take of the bracelet from my wrist. And all multi strings fall down. Am ı pull hard or am i doing wrong the knot? I'm talking about the knot which you made 0:57

I'm stuck with something. I'm at the part of doing the braids at the ends for the ties. I twisted each string and then twisted them together. Then I tied the knot, but then it comes unraveled and it's just two strings with a knot at the end. How can I fix this?

We saw another video that knotted both ends, then twisted them as tight as possible and used the lighter sweep across to melt them a bit together. Don’t hold the lighter on it too long otherwise the string will rip in half and/or turn black.

Why do your tails not untwist? Whenever I do this they simply come undone. Please help!!
You have to twist each one separately before twisting them together (hopefully that makes sense)

The only issue with this video are her measurements. It’s more like 9 pieces of 7.5 inch, 2 x 9.5 inch and 1 x 7 inch. I made one with the measurements Megan gives and it’s too difficult to make and too small. I measured my actual Pura Vida and its closer to the measurements above. Otherwise this tutorial is perfect!
Sorry about that! I didn’t have any “real” Pura Vida bracelets when I made this video, so I just went by my own wrist measurements. I see what you mean, the real ones are a little bigger! Thanks for letting me know! 💜

I don’t want things to change. So I think maybe that’s why I came here, to try to maybe... stop that change. To turn back the clock. To make things go back to how they were. But I know that’s naive. It’s just not how life works. It’s moving. Always moving whether you like it or not. And yeah, sometimes it’s painful. Sometimes it’s sad and sometimes it’s surprising. Happy. So you know what? Keep on growing up, kid. Don’t let me stop you. Make mistakes, learn from ‘em, and when life hurts you, because it will, remember the hurt. The hurt is good. It means you’re out of that cave. But, please, if you don’t mind, for the sake of your poor old dad, keep the door open three inches.
