    OMG How wonderful! THANK YOU!!! I've never used the waxed cord before and definitely easier than non waxed cord that you have to use superglue to secure the square (slide) knot! I will definitely be watching your beading videos as I've a horde of beads that I've been attempting to use in projects over the years. You are a great teacher and I truly appreciate your time and talents.

    I like your video. Thank you. For the sliding knot section, when the knot is getting too loose and not staying fitted, can you salvage it still by maybe using glue or do you have to remake the bracelet? I wanted to continue to keep the bracelet without have to remake it.

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  8 місяців тому

      You can definitely try a little glue over the knot itself, not the cords that slide through it. Always worth a shot vs. remaking!

    Question. On the slip knot… when you do the two simple burns to close it… I find my ends slide in overtime. Which means it doesn’t stay tight. I’ve been adding knots on each then burning but it looks silly. Do you have another solution? I find just two simple burns don’t keep the knot tight

    • @karenaf5440
      @karenaf5440 2 роки тому +1

      Hey! I see what you mean, i think it helps to make sure when you’re doing the slip knot that you’re tying them pretty tight but not really tight 😊

    • @teggy314
      @teggy314 Рік тому

      Hi! I often add a drop of super glue to my knots as well to keep them from sliding out. I find the melting just isn't enough to keep them from coming apart. I use a toothpick dipped in the glue so it doesn't look messy.

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  Рік тому

      I think it's fine to leave it. It seals the end but I don't think it will hurt the structure of the design if you do not use the lighter. The ends might unravel a bit

    Awesome tutorial! Is the wax cord like sticky? Does it leave residue on your hand?

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому +2

      It has a slight stickiness to it, I'd call it more grippy than sticky. It won't leave a residue unless it gets very hot. Waxed cotton cord is a classic knot-making material. Knots hold better in it because of that grip, and its stiffness helps make knots easier to tie and gives them a good structure, which is why we like it for this project.

    Can we use embroidery thread

    • @beadaholique
      @beadaholique  3 роки тому

      We haven't tested this with embroidery thread, and it depends on the material. Sliding knots work best with cord that's smooth and bit stiff. Some common embroidery threads like perle cotton may not be smooth enough. A a synthetic thread like rayon might work.

    Firstly, great tutorial. Secondly, I've seen bigger brands sell these for $45 a piece. Meanwhile small macrame artists like me make intricate pieces that take 8+ hours to make sometimes, and when I charge $200, I get laughed at. Those same customers go back and buy really simple things like this and are essentially getting ripped off. Can anyone explain the appeal of these bracelets other than they are stackable and go with many outfits? Genuinely asking because it makes me sad that this stuff sells and none of my simple (or complex) pieces do.
