  • Here is a video tutorial on replacing a front brake caliper for a 2004-2008 Ford F-150. Replacing this unit does mean you will have to bleed your brake, which I show you how to do. Also it is a good idea to replace your brake pads and rotors while you are at it and a video for that is right here • How to Change Front Br...

Thanks bro! Was having some brake issues. Turned out one of the pistons had cracked so it wouldn't retract. Really appreciate the instructions on bleeding and the banjo bolt! I'm back on-line!

I always put some fluid at the bottom of the water bottle so only air can escape and when i pump the break only break fluid can get sucked back in. For solo people

FIRST COMMENT! I always like to take the old part to the store to compare it to the new one to save me a trip over a wrong part and a core return trip. The parts you got strike me as a bit fancy as it came with a new mounting bracket and it has a nice coat of black paint! Don't see either one of those often, mostly bare steel and no bracket.

Yeah it’s a good call! But this was the only way of getting to the parts store and back that day haha
I do like the new painted ones. They look spiffy. Thanks for watching!

Nobodys showing taking off the caliper bracket that has been on the truck 15+ years and bolts stuck. FUN. An hour job that turns into a weekend project.
    UPDATE:
Another video about stuck caliper bracket bolts. TURN THE WHEEL TOE IN. Breaker bar clearance now and feeling a fool, but doing is how you learn.😎👍

I agree with you on that. I learned how beneficial the breaker bar is getting to those 18 mm’s 😂

Interesting, Thanks! do the slide pins come prelubricated? Also, I noticed your rotor flopping around quite a bit. I have a 2006 with the integrated bearings and disk. I guess there are both types on the pickups, no? All I know is it makes it very expensive to do a break job since the rotors cannot be turned and it is a pain in the butt to replace them with their high torque requirement. Also, I noticed the F150 is pretty prone to rotor warping. Seems that is what I notice first with break problems, that pulsing from a warped rotor. Is it worthwhile to buy the more expensive "high performance" cut rotors like the Power Stop rotors? To replace all four rotors and calipers is right around $800 parts only.

in order to tighten the break pedal, do you pump without power assist with the cap off master cylinder?

Why didn't you grease up the slides?

They come greased as the caliper is brand new rebuilt. Thanks for watching!

I would bet money you torqued caliper bolts way past 47. I have found over the years this is a bolt that should not be cranked tight like you did. 47 is perfect. Otherwise a perfect video. TY

If I did it wasn't by much at all. I know how tight it should be. Thanks for watching!

It's pretty tough! I've been doing it for two years now and very few scratches tbh. Thanks for watching!
