- We live life on THE EDGE! The River's Edge gay campground in Dewy Rose, Georgia. This is our first visit (and not our last!) to this very large, very clean, very well-organized campground just a short drive from Atlanta.

Been there several times and always had a great time 👍❤️
Agree! It is a very friendly and very fun campground!
you wanna hear some crazy shit, i was born and raised in lexington sc.. but my dad is FROM dewy rose. i found out aobut rivers edge and some of the street names sounded familiar, plus my dad took me around all those clay dirt roads to learn to drive. one day i asked my parents "hey whats the name of that dirt road y'all lived on in dewy rose?" she said "dempsey brown" and after lookin on the map my jaw dropped. so yeah.. my parents basically lived by that place before i was born x.x
That's hysterical!! You learned to drive on the streets of The River's Edge!!! It really is a small world! Too funny!!!
My husband and I will be at the River's Edge next week September 14-18-2023 never been before really looking forward to it. We have a 30' travel trailer so when camping we are still at Home away from home. We will have one guest with us, our girl Maggie, Labrador
Oh ya we are coming from NC
Hope you guys have a great time! It’s a fun campground!
Super cool! I wasn't familiar with this one. It's definitely on the list now!
Top five for us… totally organized, clean, well signed, and friendly southern people!
I'm from Elberton...actually spent a lot of time at my grandmother's house a few miles from The River's Edge. Glad you had a meal at La Fogata! I live in the metro Atlanta area now and definitely miss the food there! Thanks for a great review!
We missed Mexican food so much, it was great to find the restaurant! Glad you enjoyed the review.. safe travels!
Thanks for the great review!
You are welcome- it’s a great place- we really had fun there!
I was there in May last year. Going again this May as well, I hope. Really fun place.
We loved it! Definately one of our top LGBTQ campgrounds we have been at!
Absolutely agree with your critique. I really think is it much nicer than The Woods in Pennsylvania. I went to the woods many time in 2015-2017 and it was just growing, but it seems to be so crowded and active its very hard to get anything done (on a weekend anyway). In my ratings I would put The Rivers Edge 1st, Jones Pond (NY) 2nd, and The woods (Pa) 3rd). I've been to 2-3 others but they didn't impress me. I notice you don't say they are Clothing Optional. Your very politically correct. Also, I wonder if you have to pay the "Membership Fee" for every campground you visit?? It adds up if your old, poor, and only staying a night or two. (Doesn't apply to you of course)
Yes, "Membership Fees" vary for location/jurisdiction. Often in order to run a "men's only" or "clothing optional" or "21+" venue, or a place the services/gives away alcohol, you have to run the operation as a "private club" with a 21+ or men's only requirement.
Almost all have membership fees, but some have ‘one time visit’ travelers memberships that don’t cost as much. Some campgrounds belong to a group called ‘friends with benefits’ that allow you to use your membership at one campground at another. It’s usually posted on their websites.
Great review!
Thank You!
I’ve been there many times and it’s a great place 👍❤️
We agree! Love The Rivers Edge!
Nice they had activities that did not involve the nasty. You can do other things there.....Awesome
The ‘Sordid Lives’ event was fun. They had a wake for Peggy in the pavilion complete with a real casket and ‘funeral food’!!
@@JamesandPaulsRVAdventures "Funeral Food", could you please be more specific. Some regions of USA and some religious faiths have different "funeral food".
We’ll maybe more like southern funeral
Food. Chicken fingers with dipping sauce, all sorts of deserts- a buffet where there is not a vegetable in sight and the deep fryer was busy!
our fav
Its a great campground!
Hardly any POC here as well. Curious if this is by design?
The River's Edge was actually founded and run by a POC! When he (Terry Drayton) passed on, a group of seasonals purchased the property from his family and continue to run it today. When we make videos, we make it a point not to take videos or photos of the crowds, as that is against campground rules, so it's hard to show on video what a typical crowd looks like.
🤩💋👌💗💋
Thanks!!!
Are the communal showers used frequently?
On weekends in the summer when it's busy, both the inside and outside showers are used by campers.
you need a haircut
You should see James' hair now! its even longer!
