Loved your video of the slimline cards. You showed some great examples. I have been having so much fun making them as well. We here at Dare 2B Artzy have just created some fun slimline dies and borders too.

Hi Rebecca, I found slimline cards last week and as you say they are fun to make, whether simple or a lot of decoration, they are my New card shape for the moment! Thanks so much, Ive subscribed to you channel too 🌸🌸🌸

I love slimline cards! I love them because of the reasons you talked about. However, I also love them because I can write longer notes in them, without adding an extra piece of paper inside.
That's true! I have been known to flip over an A2 card to continue writing my message on the back lol! This is another great reason to make slim line cards!!

Hi! I was making slimline cards 4 or 5 years ago. Some designs are perfect for them. I'm happy making the a2 size but always like to try something new!
Great video and projects Rebecca! You can thank WHIMSY STAMPS for the explosive slimline card trend. We were the first to bring slimline dies to stampers and had them for several months before anyone else came out with them. BTW, we're a small family owned cardmaking business too ;)
Thank you Whimsy Stamps!! :) I love slim line cards! I am slowly, but surely trying to make my way through all the small cardmaking companies I know, but it is an expensive and time consuming venture. :)
I have been making slim line cards off and on for years. Envelopes are a challenge, because I don't like the #10 business envelopes. I was able to use my envelope punch board WAMK APP to make ANY size of envelope but they quit supporting the app and it comes up wonky on my phone and no longer generates the off size cards. I know there is a die you can buy (to make slim line envelopes) and also many people are good at making envelopes using different methods...all of which brings me back to wanting something really easy to make the envelopes for different sizes of slimline cards! They are cool and they do provide a really different look. Thank you for making this vid!
Thank you for watching and commenting! :) I did see that Simon Says Stamp is now offering envelopes in the slim line card size. You are awesome for making your own....I am lazy lol!
Peggy Dollar Trinity Stamps now sales a die set to cut out perfectly sized slimline envelopes, just FYI. It’s a little pricey though but it’s great if you make a lot of slimline cards.
In Germany we have Cardsize called Din C6 (its the same like the Us card size) and Din B6. This is 4 3/4 " x 6 1/2". This is a great size because it's larger than the C6 and there more place to create a cardscene. We also have the size Din lang (long) and this is a little bit wider as your slimeline card. I can buy all Sizes in every craftingstore. It's great.
I like making slimline cards for all the reasons you said. But when I made a large batch of Christmas cards I realized that they’re not very efficient in their use of cardstock. Unlike with A2 cards where I can get 2 bases from one sheet with no waste, the slimline cards generate awkward offcuts. Sometimes those can be incorporated into the design, but I’m still using up the offcuts from my Christmas cards, which I saved for sentiment strips. I do love the bookmark idea though - I’m going to try that out.
That's a great point! They are not as economical when mass producing for sure! I still think I'll make a few for Christmas just so I can make some more bookmarks lol! They are so much fun to create!
Very cool! I was wondering if there is a display bag size for these slim cards? I buy my A2’s online at Clear Bags for selling my cards to keep them looking nice.
They really can be any dimension as long as they are long and thin lol. The dies come in a variety of sizes. I like to use about 3.25 x 8.25 generally.
It really depends on the ink. The ones that come off super easily, I just use a dry microfiber towel. If it's a little more stubborn, I use a wet shammy. And for the ones that just won't come off I use Hero Art's Ultra Clean.
Thanks so much! I'd probably just throw the whole thing in a small priority mail envelope. Usually I use them on top of a small gift to give in person. :)
In the U.K. These would approximate to a DL card. That's a sheet of A4 paper with 1/3 cut off the length then folded over. We have standard size envelopes too.
Hey, that was really fun to watch! Thanks for showing us how much fun it is to make slimline cards. I have made five now. I have found that slimline cards give more space to write a message. Also it is fun to decorate the inside of the cards to match the front. And best of all, slimline cards fit perfectly in a business size envelope which are typically less expensive than A-2 size envelopes. You have shared that some companies are now making dues to accommodate the size of a slimline card. Now I’ll have to check that out. Thanks!
What size envelope do you use for these? Did I miss where you said? Is it a #10 - or business size envelope? I, too, like your voice. You are easy to listen to.
Thank you so much! Someone in the comments said they use business envelopes and another said they make their own! I'm lazy lol, and I ordered some slim line envelopes from Simon Says Stamp...just "im"patiently waiting for them to arrive lol!

Right under the video, you'll see my little photo in the UA-cam description box and there are some sentences describing the video. Click on the words SHOW MORE in that description box and then scroll down to see the supply list. :)
Im sure part of the reason they have become popular is because the companies are all releasing products for them (another way to make $$) and thus the social media influencers that have ties to these companies and get product for free feature them. Probably more than anything else it is because the companies making products for them are pushing them.
It's true, if small companies don't find new ways to keep customers shopping, they will go out of business. I am more than happy to oblige by shopping especially when they come up with fresh ideas.
It makes me happy that they come up with new ideas and styles otherwise I think I might get bored! I felt like that happened a bit in the scrapbooking industry. Companies kept doing the same thing over and over and finally it got to the point where nothing got me excited or grabbed my attention.
If you hover your mouse pointer over the bottom right hand corner of the video you will see some options pop up like CC. The one to the right of CC is a little gear image and the settings button. If you click on the settings icon a menu will pop up. From there, simply click on playback speed and slow it down! Hope that helps :)

Love it ❣️❣️as it is rather new from me. I am tired of A2 cards 😘😳🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Same! :)
Love these cards but I am having a hard time finding the links you discuss. Can you tell me where to find the products?
Right under the video, you'll see my little photo in the UA-cam description box and there are some sentences describing the video. Click on the words SHOW MORE in that description box and then scroll down to see the supply list. :)
First time with you ... Like you !
Thanks for stopping by and your kind words.
❤️❤️❤️
:)
It’s another way to generate sales...after all that what card making companies need to keep gping
It makes me happy that they come up with new ideas and styles otherwise I think I might get bored! I felt like that happened a bit in the scrapbooking industry. Companies kept doing the same thing over and over and finally it got to the point where nothing got me excited or grabbed my attention.
And thank you to Whimsy Stamps for being the innovators of slimline cards and starting a trend and refresh in the industry😀
It's always great when a manufacturer comes up with a product line to re-energize our community! :)
Informative video but it’s way too quick, I was getting dizzy!!
If you hover your mouse pointer over the bottom right hand corner of the video you will see some options pop up like CC. The one to the right of CC is a little gear image and the settings button. If you click on the settings icon a menu will pop up. From there, simply click on playback speed and slow it down! Hope that helps :)
Rebecca Keppel thank you so much.
So sorry. I really don't care for a "slim line" card. I just don't and won't make them. Nice video though. xo
Every crafter has a different style and preference! That's what makes scrolling through Instagram so much fun lol!
So they can sell new stamps and dies of old ideas. Duh.
Not a fan of this slim cards...they do t knock my socks off.
I love that every cardmaker has their personal preferences and styles! It's what makes scrolling through Instagram so much fun!
