Steve Vai is actually on Jonahs solo project song "Diamond Ring" (Coffee Break" is also superb)- if you want to check that out - Dirty Loops are amazing, and watching new people discover them warms my heart and means there hope for the future - appreciate your analysis and hope you do more w these guys, there´s a lot to check out
About the bass there, yes the E string has a 2 fret extension to D so the glue vise acts like a capo. The tuner for that string actually sits at the back of the body behind the bridge, and that is actually a Hipshot D-tuner, so the E- string can actually drop down to C And this is Henrik Linder, his bass teachers set an example of what can be achieved In the group he plays both bass and guitar parts on a 6-string bass, sometimes simultaneously
I just realized the riff reminds me of Twin Peaks... Been waiting for weeks for that feeling to finally manifest itself in some kind of "picture". That's it.
All their studio videos are pre-recorded sound, all the way back to their earliest covers. They do however play for real in the videos, it's just not that sound we hear. And it's certainly not done in one take, not in one single of them. Aron Mellergård (drums) has been the one doing the video editing from the start as well.
And Henrik (bass) often makes fun of the fact that Aron actually writes music by tapping it in with the computer keyboard, on a really old laptop, so my guess is that's why they have that silly bit at the starrt. :D
@@Olkam-w5u I know. They can play all of their stuff live, and when I saw them a couple of years ago, I’d say they were even better live than on the recordings. They are bonkers good live. Doesn’t change the fact that they don’t record their videos live and never have. And that’s not a negative thing either. I love the way they record their videos and edit them to highlight all the musical wonders and little cool details in the music.
@@lottawiklund8606..as well as Henrik having the name ARON written on one of his fake hands in the beginning… Someone suggested it’s paying tribute to Aron, his playing, writing and even writing most of Henrik’s bass parts… These dudes are trolls, but SERIOUS ones 🤣
Dirty Loops don't take themselves too seriously. The visuals were a parody of 'Stadium Rock'; Henrik multi-neck 'Guitar God'. Aron huge transparent drum kit, pink headband, "Dirty Loops" 'Muscle-T' (Def Leppard font?) and pink tights. Jonah's split and banked 'Keyboard God', and he nailed the 'Boy-band' dance moves. Yet it's still catchy. Best Wishes, Chaps. ☮

With Dirty Loops credits, I get the feeling that it helps to be Swedish ;) they list funny, sometimes controversial figures from public life or from mythology, to having played the bagpipes or beatboxing… Henrik’s four arms are said to be the revelation of what everyone always suspected: that the guy indeed has four hands, his playing’s so insane. Oh and he’s got a fake pair of legs doing the splits at the end, too, Henrik Van Halen-style 😂 At the end there’s a fake cigarette stuck to one of his (fake) double necked headstocks… There’s so much fakeness in this vid!! The song is a first release from their new, upcoming album. I cannot wait to hear the rest of it! And yes, more Dirty Loops please! “Follow The Light” and “Turbo” from their collab album with Cory Wong, and “Next to You” are all fire, -as is everything DL ever touched 🔥☺️🔥 Thanks for this reaction, Chris and Sam 👍👍
It's funny you mention Steve Vai, cause Jonah released a song a few years ago called "Diamond Ring", starring Vai in a solo, and the whole song is just amazing. Jonah also released a song with Richard Bona named "Coffee Break". You'll wanna check both songs...
If you are a professional musician you don't have to know if parts are pre-recorded etc. You just know it. So trust your gut feeling. This is 100% a music video. No live session. Amen.
This whole video is an homage to the over-the-top 80s arena rock band videos. Aron even has on a Dirty Loops T-shirt in Def Leppard font. And in addition to the extra pair of hands, look for Henricks ridiculous splits in his second solo. This is a goofy trbute to the 80s with bad ass musicianship
Watching DL always brings a smile. The musicianship is exponential and there's always such an underlying sense of joy. Plus, their credit rolls are a hoot. Dirry Loops; you either get it or you're Lutefisk to me.
If you are going to mention David Lee Roth's "ALL STAR BAND" of the 80's you can't just say Steve Vai when he also had THE best Bass player, ❤BILLY SHEEHAN! & one of the GREAT jazz & rock drummers, ❤GREGG BISSONETTE! 🙏🤙🤘🤘
If you want to react to something really different but really good, check out the Mexican composer/singer/showman Juan Gabriel, if you haven't. I recommend Hasta que te conoci at Bellas Artes. Great musicianship, a fantastic show!
In a word "GLORIOUS!" But WHY can't you listen through the whole song and give your critique afterwards!!! Geeezzzz! How infuriating! Can't you just Go with the flow...
The extra arms is a joke about Henrik being a freak and sounding like he has 4 arms🦾🎸
more more more more more more dirty loops. they crush it live. This video was an 80's parody - lot's of fun - but still stellar execution.

This is so good and creative and mind-blowing... it's sickening!!
About the "missing" song parts, I think they said "let the bass sing", and it did!
Seeing them here in Dallas on the 19th

DL just did an interview with Rick Beato. Henrik used only two pedals on this. Don't remember what, but what he's doing is explained.
This is the real band that Bill and Ted created.

Whammy peral, well its a boss synth pedal doing its best whammy pedal. But whammy pedal.
Henrik Van Halen!
The bass guitarist is using a wha pedal. Sounds like he is running the bass audio through a synth. Some of you may actually know....I'm guessing lol.
