Thanks for a delightful reaction! I just love to see someone experiencing Dirty Loops for the first time and have their mind blown. They started the group as a hobby project in 2008, and never thought it would be anything other than that. In 2010 they put up a video on youtube (a cover of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance"), as a booking reference, to see if they could get a gig or two, just for fun, as they thought their music was way too unsexy for anyone to actually like it. Needless to say, they were completely wrong. The video went viral and a LOT of people absolutely loved it. Just about everything they've ever released is of this ridiculous musical quality, so if you consider checking out more of them, you could basically pick anything, and you more than likely won't be disappointed. My personal favourite is one of their more jazz fusion-y pieces, "Work Shit Out". They've all known each other and played together for 20+ years by now, in their mid-to-late-thirties. Jonah (keyboard/vocals) and Henrik (bass) even went to music elementary school together and met when Henrik was 11 and Jonah was 9. Aron (drums) comes from another part of Sweden and came along when he moved to Stockholm at the age of 16, to attend the same music high school as they did (he was in the year between the other two). Then they all attended Kungliga Musikhögskolan (Royal College of Music) in Stockholm, where Henrik and Aron studied jazz/rock, and Jonah opted for music production (iirc) as his main subject. I'm definitely subscribing, and I'm looking forward to seeing you fall down this wondrous rabbit hole that is Dirty Loops! 😃
As others have said, you're on your way to discovering the rabbit hole that is Dirty Loops. This was a parody of any video from the 80's, yet it's their song played their way. You can't go wrong with the recommendations below, and I'll add "Next to You" and "The Way She Walks" (no video) to your list. You will NOT be disappointed! 😀
Welcome to my favorite band. You've been loopyfied. You have a lot to discover and they are huge on the highest level of skill but still very easy listening music. Not the average Joe.
Welcome to Dirty Loops! These are 3 of the best musicians on the planet. They are the musicians' musicians. They blend all kinds of genres (funk, pop, rock, jazz, gospel) but are officially labeled as jazz fusion. I envy you hearing all their music for the first time!
I sort of envy people discovering Dirty Loops for the first time, like a first time high (i suppose) -difference is you get the same kick every time - welcome to the Dirty Loops fold - amazing music awaits youGreat Reaction
LOVE these guys. Stumbled across them 2-3 years ago in the comments section of Snarky Puppy, and they immediately went into my best/favorite musicians list. Both Henrik and Aaron majored in jazz, and Jonah majored in classical keys. They all knew each other in school - Henrik and Aaron got together later to "play music that would get them fired as session musicians" and decided they needed a vocalist.... How about Jonah, doesn't he sing? OH, does he sing! Quincy Jones manages them now. They manage to be ear candy and top flight musical quality simultaneously - and they don't take themselves seriously. Lots of funny stuff in those long credits. Anyway, I liked and subscribed! LOVED your reaction - knew you'd be blown away when it was clear that you totally got what going down. Don't miss Work Shit Out. Stellar.
Probably best way to describe these 3 is 'Elite Level' musicians. If you go down this rabbit hole you won't regret it - guaranteed! The playing is on another level, but their music is entirely accessible.
They are from Sweden, they are formally trained, they’ve been out for 5+ years and have been killing it, this is next level even from them, but you need to do a deep dive into their catalog of videos to grasp their amazing talent, this is what the music industry has been trying to avoid….. real art… without boundaries, because they can’t control its trajectory, it would leave so many people… lost. You don’t need to know theory to appreciate them, but you do need an open mind, and a passion for music…these guys can do anything!
I found Dirty Loops yesterday from Rick Beato´s channel. I was also absolutely blown away about everything they do! They are from Sweden (of course they are)!
Great first-time reaction to Dirty Loops. As you’ve already noted, they’re truly in a class by themselves. Strap yourself in because the rest of their catalog is going to knock your socks off!!
They’re from sweden, they studied at the royal academy of music there or something. Their album “phoenix” is phenomenal as well as their fun little side project “songs for lovers”
The best trio on the planet today, all 3 from Sweden (have you noticed how many awesome bands come from there these days ?). Went to music school together and have been around about 12 years 1st coming to the scene posting UA-cam videos of crazy good covers of pop songs. In the wake of many of those videos going viral they dropped an album 10 years and toured to support it (I saw them then), absolutely amazing show. Then they quit as they were recording their 2nd album. Fast forward to 4 years ago and they reunite while Quincy Jones takes them under his wing (Johah's vocals are similar to MJ's). Since then they have been posting great videos each time showing they are continuing to elevate the bar. Henrik has always been an incredibly gifted bassist but IMHO on this one he's setting a paradigm shift. North America tour is coming up soon....can they do this on stage ??? We shall see....
Lovely reaction! You certainly are a "music person". I found these guys a few years back. It's like finding a pot of musical gold. They are very diverse in their music. They mix jazz, fusion, funk and pop and no tune is like the other. I hope you'll listen to more of their music. Next To You is the first I would recommend, and then we have Follow The Light Work Sh1t Out World On Fire Rock You Breakdown... ... and many more golden nuggets. Dirty Loops - the gift that keeps on giving. Thank you for a great reaction. Cheers! 👋😊
From Sweden. They are currently touring in the US. I am going to see them in Salt Lake on April 6. There is a lot more to explore. I see several suggestions below.
Work Shit Out is probably the best Dirty Loops video to start so you get a good idea of their individual talents. Follow the Light and Thriller would definitely be next next suggestions after that, though ^-^
I'm so hyped that more people are discovering them through this song, but I really hope it also drives traffic to their earlier stuff which I like a bit better. This song is awesome but definitely a departure from what their sound has been thus far.
Hey! great reaction! Honestlty baffled? Don't worry, it's kinda normal with these guys. Another awesome thing is the fan base you've tickled. They'll be here to guide you deep down the rabbit hole of sweden made amazement that is DL. You'll find seasoned musicians and youngsters as well, and they're here because they love to recall the sensation that was to discover this band and their music, their personalities and high spirited humor. Welcome to the Loop, you have homework that is due
"Next to You", is their most known piece, I think. Everything is different, but my personal fav still is "Work shit out" and of course the stuff they did together with Cory Wong. Oh, "World on Fire".
This is the first single off their latest album. There is more coming but in the meantime check out the songs from their previous albums. There is nothing bad.
Just saw them 3/25 at Irving Plaza, NYC. Linder is a bass God. My rib cage is still shaking. Like their covers but love their original stuff. Check out Old Armando Had a Farm, Bitten by the Kitten.
... and down the Dirty Loops rabbit hole we go! Other songs to check out includes "Thriller" and "Follow the Light" with Cory Wong. Well, or just search Dirty Loops... Each song amazing in it's own right.
Welcome to the Dirty Loop club and there are so many songs by these classicly trained musicians Jonah on Keys and vocals, Henrik Lendir on Bass and guitar, and Aron on drums always hitting in the pocket.
When you have a bass player like Henrik Linder there's no need for a guitar. If you want to hear some of the best white boy funk you've ever heard in your life check out "Rock You". Talk about Groove!!!! These guys are about as tight as you'll ever hear. They are the definition of "musicians".
It´s fun to see your consternation. Even myself that know Dirty Loops well and listen a lot to them didn´t know what to do out of this song when I heard it for the first time. Listen to Work shit out, their Thriller cover, Rings of Saturn, Turbo, Next to you, or... There any many good Dirty Loop songs, more within the pop/funk/soul/jazz genres... Not that I don´t love this song too, but it is... different.
Henrik Linder is the bass player one of the greatest and innovative musician in the world. You better start listening to other songs and like people say you be Loopified.
They are pretty huge already. I would asume every single person on earth who is into music has heard them before. They have been doing this for a decade. And no, they are not German 😄
Find and explore the dirty loops youtube rabbithole. These guys are ridiculous... watch some old stuff then come back and listen to this again. This whole video is a parody and a flex mashed together, but it's better understood once you get a feel for how unbelievably talented they all are.
Yes, the are actually a bit ridiculous (like with the extra arms, or Henrik and Aron making fun of each other), but also ridiculously good at what they are doing. Not to forget Aron editing the videos, and Henrik designing the Capybara.
Subscribed. I really like your reaction, thanks, and would like you to react to more from Dirty Loops (not least for your sake, if I may say so)! You could go with some of their early cover stuff: Circus (Britney Spears) Rolling In The Deep (Adele) Baby (Justin Bieber) I guess you realize that its not just straight of covers, but they have a Dirty Loops twist (they have been "loopified", which is the name of one of their few albums. It is smoother than you think! Quite wonderful. Thriller - what do you know, another cover! Sort of true to the original, sort of loopified anyhow. Interesting! Or, just for fun, something from "Songs for lovers" (I am sure they enjoyed coming up with that name), written (and likely recorded) in just a few days per song, I believe (all instrumental): Coffee break is over - instrumental, the keyboard wobbling on a drum Old Armando had a farm - Just Aron and Henrik on display, short, just for fun They are all very nice and fun guys! Dirty Loops is coming to a theater near you really soon, at least touring the USA now! They are really good live!!
They are from Sweden. They went to the Swedish equivalent of Julliard. A LOT of electronic enhancement. Note nobody else is singing and there are harmonies. Remember this is a video, not an actual performance. They play with a second keyboard player who also sings and likely enhancing tracks. However, they are 3 of the best musicians in the world and there is nothing wrong with using whatever tools are available. Generations after mine hear with their eyes more than their ears. I was 30 when MTV debuted! Get their albums, put on headphones, and prepare to be blown away. I started playing in 1959 and I have never heard anything like this.
Henrik's bass is going through the Fractal AXE-FX III by Fractal Audio Systems which has a synth patch. He's using a whammy pedal with 2 octaviders in series (?) combined with another effect to get that squealing piglet effect . . . lol!!.
It doesn't hurt to be in the Quincy Jones stable either. Definitely watch 'Work Shit Out' and 'Next to You' where I think their individual talents are better showcased.
They are a Swedish band (NOT German) .. like so many other great bands and music producers from here 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪 Look up for example : Ghost, Sabaton. Come to think about it, I think it is hard to overestimate the skills of DL. People say they are on another level, but it seems to me like they are on yet another level. They blind us with their technical skills and creativity, and it hides the composition and other skills from us. Just me rambling incoherently, sorry. (Think Video editing - Aron Mellergard, who would have guessed?)
With those names, there is only one country in the world where they can come from. But I understand perfectly, Europe consists of a lot of countries and languages.
Think 80s, and parody, Eurovision Song Contest, Elton John, and perhaps it helps. Besides, you could check out other Dirty Loops songs. This is the only one of its kind. All their songs is a bit of one of a kind. Just a friendly suggestion, so you don't miss out.
You are now officially trapped in the Dirty Loops rabbit hole, from which there is no escape. 😂
True 😉☺️🥰💪🔥

Work shit out is also an incredible display of musical skill and orchestration! The lead singer is amazing!
100% and I got to see him live a week ago. Phenomenal musicians. When Quincy Jones endorses you then we need to pay attention.
Three of the baddest dudes on the planet right now 🔥🔥🔥
Yes they are!!!

Dirty Loops are a Swedish trio. They have been around for a while. Absolutely a ‘must listen to music’. Totally amazing band!

Welcome to Dirty Loops!!! You won't find this rabbit hole disappointing!!!

That is the best comment closing line for Dirty Loops ever! Well done!
Exactly, spot on, just so, you hit the bulls eye, and I agree!
The most incredible band …so many talents !
"Next to You", is their most known piece, I think. Everything is different, but my personal fav still is "Work shit out" and of course the stuff they did together with Cory Wong. Oh, "World on Fire".
Me, i encountered first the song, follow the light, fell in love with it, listened next to Rock you, and the others. What an explosive band!
Actually, "Hit Me" is their best-known piece as it went #1 in Japan. That was first time it was achieved by a non-Japanese band in five years.
They are fire! And I love your reaction!
Yeh, the Songs for Lovers stuff is super fun!

Congrats man. You havn't heard their album with Cory Wong. That is beyond.
And then the previous album!
"Dirty Loops" parody of the 80's sound. Brilliant!!
US/Canada tour starting this week with 20 concerts all over the states. Last time they toured US was ten years ago.
They are from Sweden.
I'm seeing them April 9th. Vancouver, B.C.
Seeing them in NYC next week. Excited is an understatement 🔥

They are from Stockholm Sweden.
Phenomenal band. One of my all-time favourites. You might want to up your audio level to match your vocals. Was a bit quiet.
Thank you! I realized that when editing!
This tune give's me goosebumps every time i hear it and i've heard it like 50 time's😂 Love them
Henrik Linder is the bass player one of the greatest and innovative musician in the world. You better start listening to other songs and like people say you be Loopified.

I just saw the cassette tape on Aron’s laptop screen 😂😂😂 You see new details every time you look at this crazy video… Man they are so fun!
I am proud to be Swedish.
These three are some of the best musicians on the planet.. together they form Voltron
😉✌️
They are from Stockholm, Sweden. They attended music school in university together. They are a jazz / pop fusion band. Very cool stuff.

Beware - this is THE rabbithole. But please please do it :.)

I really like your reaction, thanks, and would like you to react to more from Dirty Loops (not least for your sake, if I may say so)!
You could go with some of their early cover stuff:
Circus (Britney Spears)
Rolling In The Deep (Adele)
Baby (Justin Bieber)
I guess you realize that its not just straight of covers, but they have a Dirty Loops twist (they have been "loopified", which is the name of one of their few albums.
Or, go with a bit newer stuff, their own stuff (all simple stuff, but loopified to perfection):
Work shit out - so nice, very special - I think it will surprise you at least twice, in delightful ways
Next to you - "taking us to church", some says - showcasing Jonah more than you might realize
Rock you - really good composition
Or, take a look at their collaboration with Cory Wong (and the Horn Heads):
Follow the light - one of their most popular songs, I believe
Turbo - Instrumental, the horn section really shines, you get a bit more of Cory Wong
Ring of Saturn - so smooooooth, like a milk bath (which I take regularly of course, so I know what I am talking about - not). It is smoother than you think! Quite wonderful.
Thriller - what do you know, another cover! Sort of true to the original, sort of loopified anyhow. Interesting!
Or, just for fun, something from "Songs for lovers" (I am sure they enjoyed coming up with that name), written (and likely recorded) in just a few days per song, I believe (all instrumental):
Coffee break is over - instrumental, the keyboard wobbling on a drum
Old Armando had a farm - Just Aron and Henrik on display, short, just for fun
They are all very nice and fun guys!
Dirty Loops is coming to a theater near you really soon, at least touring the USA now! They are really good live!!
Henrik is one of the best bass players around. Simple as.
Please listen and react to world on fire and next to you from them next
Just saw them in Denver. Nice guys. Best band in the world right now. Check out their other stuff. You WON'T be dissapointed!
This phenomenal band is a Quincy Jones secret weapon!!!!
They give me goosebumps!
Your in for a treat if you'll start reacting to more Dirty Loop songs.
I guess someone already told you they are from Stockholm, Sweden.
They are great !
Want to hear something different but still by Dirty Loops? Check out: ua-cam.com/video/Ak_rBvBEKD8/v-deo.html
"Work Shit Out", dude. 'Nuff said.
Work shit out by them for epic drums
He's using a whammy pedal with 2 octaviders in series (?) combined with another effect to get that squealing piglet effect . . . lol!!.
That's insane! Blew my mind the first time I heard/saw it!
They are from Sweden. They recently signed with Quincy Jones and are touring the US.
They are from Schweden
